    This is the BEST tutorial I've ever seen for beginners wanting to understand the tools needed for jewelry making. I wish I would have found this back in 2012 when I was starting.

    I really liked your video. I thought maybe u could help me with a dilemma. I've been making jewelry for years. I've noticed that single round nose bail pliers don't last like they use to. When they stop holding well or get some play between the arms when making an eye pin I have to twist reposition and twist again. I have Fibro and a lot of twisting has become a little painful on my wrist. Ofcourse I've bought new pliers several times. I have thought about getting a different kind of pliers that can make eyepins, jumprings etc., but in the stores it's just the same old thing. I Wondered if you have any suggestions for me? Maybe a brand or different type of pliers? Thank you so much! Thanks for sharing. 💜

      I have the same problem with the smaller diameter bail making pliers. I prefer to work with multi step pliers. They are sturdy and give me 6 size options to make eye-pins, bails and jump-rings. My favorite one is out of stock but here is one that is great! www.jtv.com/product/cougar-fts-choice-6-step-round-looping-plier/JST771If you are set on having single jaw pliers, look for bail making pliers with a shorter jaw. I have found that those last longer! As for brands, Wubbers are a great brand with a life time guarantee! They have so many bail making pliers, I hardly know where to begin, but to get you started, here is a link to their basic round nose plier: www.jtv.com/product/wubbers--tm-proline-round-nose-plier/PLIER107. I am also wondering if you have you tried a one-step looper? It measures, loops and trims your wire in one step! Since you have fibro it would eliminate a lot of that twisting! Here is a link! www.jtv.com/search/?Ntt=looper Feel free to let us know if you have any questions! We are happy to help!

    Hi Miss 😊 If you would choose one item, FLAT NOSE or CHAIN NOSE? For multipurpose use? Thank you for the reponse. Im in a hunt.

    • @JewelSchool
      @JewelSchool  3 года назад +1

      I find a flat nose plier to be more multipurpose, because if you need to, you can have more grip on a surface area. I love having both though!

    What kind of wire and gauge you use ?

    • @JewelSchool
      @JewelSchool  2 года назад +3

      Hi Sharon!
      For wrapping the gemstone, it will depend on the hole size of your bead. Keep 24ga, 26ga and 28ga on hand for this!
      For making ear wires: 20ga wire is best.
      For the shaped wire: 22ga wire

    What to do if the pliers gets rusty?

    • @JewelSchool
      @JewelSchool  4 года назад +1

      If your pliers get rusty, it is probably time to replace! Chances are, they're not as sharp or precise as they used to be. Check these out for a solid replacement set! www.jtv.com/product/beadstrom-4-piece-tool-kit-incl-2-semi-flush-cutters-2-round-nose-pliers/JSKIT0809?mcid=XSOjsyt

    Why don’t they make pliers with a silicone tip on them so it doesn’t scratch the metal? I was looking for one like this but couldn’t find it?

    • @JewelSchool
      @JewelSchool  2 года назад +1

      The only one that seems to be out there is the nylon wire straightener. You can use that for some bending of wire. We wish we could help!
