For anyone who is just starting out, all you need are chain noses, round noses, and cutters. Those three tools will take you a looong way. You can also replace chain noses with bent noses if you prefer, but I would definitely not go with flat noses. You’re going to want something that is small and can get into little areas.
Thanks for the info, it's exactly what I was looking for. My 2 cents is to include the nylon jaw pliers as your seventh on the list. I use mine a lot when bead weaving as well to grip the needle to pull thru seed beads.

Most pliers can last 10+ years, even decades. Honestly it’s not something I would at all worry about unless you can see obvious flaws on the pliers or things you’ve just used the pliers on.
