The effect to normal summon the retrained Zoa in defense position was a reference as to how Keith "accidentally" summoned Zoa face up as a way to goad Joey into attacking it and triggering his Metalmorph
I think the immunity to monster and spell effects was understated. In the anime, it was stated that machines were immune to magic, so Joey relied a lot on traps.
I think the X shaped attack that Metalzoa X is doing on the card is a reference to GX where Chazz duels against Czar at North Academy and Czar plays both Zoa and Metalzoa and the attacks we see Zoa and Metalzoa do are called Glimmer Strike and Hardened Glimmer Strike in the dub and they’re both X shaped so yeah.
If Bandit Keith was here alive and kicking, he’d be waving the American patriot flag with pride… in America. In all seriousness, Keith’s a pretty underrated YGO villian. He’s a minor villian but he has a certain charm which I can’t help but enjoy.
Fiend Beast Zoa's abilities reflect how Keith used it in the anime - he dropped it briefly to let Joey glimpse it and learn it wasn't a Machine, so all of Joey's warriors who used 'magic' to attack like Flame Swordsman and Giltia, could attack it without fear. Only for Keith to spring Metalmorph and reflect the attack back. Because Duelist Kingdom. :P
It'd be funny if the Slot Machine retrain had the effect of having the player flip three coins and then drawing a card for every head result while discarding a card for every tails result.
That's an anime only thing so I wouldnt put much hope in it since the cards are usually more references to manga like 80% of the time. What I would expect is graverobber, blast sphere, slot machine(and 777), red-eyes(and dragon nails) and MAYBE flame swordsman (although art only since it was the first monster destroyed by a metalmorph monster)
OMG, same! I've been wanting that card since I first saw it in the anime! I also hope we get a Main Deck retrain of Musician King to go along with it! 🙏🙏🙏 I loved both cards growing up! X3

I hope someday there will be a duelist in one of the future episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh! Revelations Duel Arena who has Zoa, Metalmorph, and Metalzoa, but utilizes them better than Czar (Yuri Edogawa). Also, instead of using two copies of "Fiend's Sanctuary" to special summon and tribute 2 Metal Fiend Tokens they should either special summon it with Ancient Rules or tribute summon it with Double Coston, but for the latter, they should first use Double Summon or Mystic Tomato.
I'm glad Bandit Keith is getting new support and so does Joey. The new Red Eyes Metal Dragon is awesome The references from the anime and manga is so cool
The new metal monsters having effects that trigger off spell or monster effects is a reference to machines deflecting magic cards and magic attacks during duelist kingdom
Well there is one thing - if you wonder why the trap protects vs monster and spell effects not traps is that in the anime of duelist kingdom machine monsters were supposed to be immun to spell effects cause of their shiny metal
Hey new go rush episodes drops this time around they dropped 2 episodes at the same time I won’t spoil anything but I should say that the second episode is really interesting
If more support comes from Konami we might get newer cards for Garnecia Elefantis, Slot Machine, Pendulum Machine, Machine King, Seiyaru, Zera the Mant, Blast Sphere, and Launcher Spider, and of course, new spell and trap cards.
So you gan play the metal zoa get 2 negates, then once its destroyed you could drop a desperado barrel dragon then if its the BP you can use Desperados effect to destory 3 cards kinda busted
It's very strange that the anime doesn't explain what happened to him after he fled the burning warehouse! But since he's from America, it wouldn't shock me if he went back to the US and later met an unfortunate end!
Metalmorph itself is a machine like thing I believe since it always made everything tied to it a machine. I think something like black metal dragon could be more alien like since it's kinda like a venom symbiote
@@RedTheWeebI would argue the the opposite, Metalmorph would be the symbiote, since it needs a host and changes the host’s body and type. And it kinda looks malleable (to me at least), like metal reflect slime. I wouldn’t be surprised if it came out of a meteor. Black Metal Dragon could be a machine built for Red-Eyes, since Flare Metal is just Black Flare wearing it (to regulate the flames probably) and not actually physically changing. However, since it’s a dragon type, my headcannon is that BMD is the metalmorph symbiote after it defused from Darkness Metal, taking a portion of Red-eyes’s power to maintain its own body. They continue to help each other like that. Which I guess makes BMD technically a symbiote, so not quite the opposite, but hey it’s more lore if you want.
@@asnwolf4507 but metalmorph originally makes things a machine so its kinda more like a cyborg enhance thing than symbiote. Black metal dragon is a dragon we dont know the origin of but we see it melding with red-eyes black flare in return of the red-eyes. Changing both its body and Flare's
@@RedTheWeeb it looks to me on Return of the Red-eyes, Black Flare is being outfitted with BMD, in a similar way that Valon wore his armor cards. If you look at Red-eyes black Metal Dragon, he’s not just wearing the Metal, at best I think we can say Metalmorph is nanotechnology, his whole body composition has changed. If the nanites operate as one entity, then I would say it’s close enough to symbiote for me. Of course I am basing my theory solely on Spider-Man’s portrayal of symbiotes from space. Not every symbiotic relationship is a goop that covers the body changing and enhancing it. But I like Venom, and Metalmorph’s got those spider fangs, and Red-eyes has ‘Meteor’ Fusions… metalmorphs gotta be a Metal symbiote from space… in my opinion.

For a minor antagonist in the grand scheme of Duel Monsters, Keith sure made his mark on the franchise. 😁
Out of all the character departures in the ygo series, Keith had the most confusing one!
I think he went back to America after fleeing the warehouse!
