Most of the mekanism machines can be turned into factories which have side configurations see if any of those can be converted and make the setup smaller.
That might actually be useful for the man. If Compact Machines was in the pack then that heap of machinery wouldn't be an issue, but it isn't and we get that in the end. I might have to go into a test world and find the most compact-n-clean version of the setup and send it to him. I don't usually get bugged out by the Dire-Wire, but the Mekanism Machines are so bad with the side configuration of the base-level machines that it can be a headache for many.
I think dire could make the digital miner mine up all the sand that is one below the surface and tell the miner to replace it with sandstone. That could save him a lot of effort when he's building in his basement
Sounds neat. I would say that Mob-crushing the Grottols from Mowzie's Mobs would yield diamonds, but like Diamond Ore, they are hard to come by while mining. It seems your way is easier.
There is another sneaky (possibly cheaty) way to get diamonds (or emeralds) they can be ore dictionary converted from lapis or quartz in a dank null as they are all part of the ore dictionary of anyGem maybe gemAny, the name doesn't really matter hold O click on the diamond in the dank null then pick up a few stacks of lapis and viola you have a few stack of diamonds, for extra cheatiness the dank null can convert any dyes into lapis, so just O click lapis and drop a few stacks of bonemeal, then convert the lapis to diamond.
Aaaaaugh the sides thing is so aggravating! I can't decide if this is more or less of a pain than it was when it required the giant salination tanks with different biomes having different salinity in the water. I also didn't know it had changed. Last time I watched someone go for quintupling, I think it was in the Yogscast Complete Pack.
You can still go the salination route (though the multiblocks are called "evaporation plant" nowadays), and it's a better bet unless you have a way to mass-produce sulfur. Sulfur is actually extremely inefficient for this purpose IIRC. Biomes no longer affect the salinity at least.
In this pack at least, you don't need a salination plant. You can just melt salt in a nuclearcraft melter. And salt can be made the pam's way using a pot + fresh water. As for the sidedness - I use XNet so I don't have to deal with any of that bs!
+1 amazing Episode, Mike. * With the Ore Quintupling you are now half Way to the Fusion Reactor of Mekanism. The best Power Source ever. You will need Solar Towers to get Brine which needs a big Amount of Copper. There comes the Ore Quintupling in handy. Also 3 huge Tanks are needed.... (3 Episodes Worth) but very intresting.
Hey dire! Rather than rotating everything you could just move the chemical dissolution chamber to the left one block then rotate it 90 degrees clockwise. That way one end would be pointing to the left (parallel to the wall) and the other would have a 90 degree pipe connecting it to the block that it's currently behind it. Just an idea. Keep up the great videos!
This episode shows why Thermal and Ender IO reign supreme as the better tech mods for the general modding community. Despite being more powerful in concept and utility, Mekanism seems to struggle when it comes to setups like this. Yes, there isn't another mod yet that has a better way of producing 5 times the amount of ores (Thermal comes close with 4X from the Induction Smelter Pyrotheum Upgrade), but the way people have to set this up is very much a headache. I understand that Mekanism is more for the hardcore tech-wizards who like this kind of complexity, but it takes the "factorization" out of the equation when the machines aren't lined up in production and it looks like a giant spider web of machines and pipes/wires/conduits; this is something even Immersive Engineering is better at. I love Mekanism, but it just has a limited amount of customization further into the mod that can't be compared to the likes of even Industrial Craft. At least it didn't become a fabric mod after 1.12.2, I'm looking at you, Tech Reborn.
@@jonusaguilar8156 Yeah, it's a shame. FE and RF users finally get the one mod that is Industrial Craft's equivalent and the mod author turns it into a Fabric mod and says it will not come back to forge after 1.12.2. That is why even though Mekanism has very wonky outputs for machinery and super complex for casual mod users, Tech Reborn will hold the title of the Trash Bin Mod for the Forge Community. The Author of TR should've seen this coming when they chose to not do TR for both Fabric and Forge. Now we have to go back to using Energy Converters if we want to use Industrial Craft. If Player (IC2 mod author) could add a config for Industrial Craft that could let us add different energy types to the config, then we wouldn't need to add in any extra mods. One thing that KingLemming/CoFH Team (Thermal Mods), Buuz135 (Industrial Foregoing), and Bradyaidenc (Mekanism) have in their mods are ore dictionary blocks/items that transmute items that share ore dictionary tags. If energy types ever got an update to have ore dictionary tag (I may be stupid if they already do), then these mods could make a new ore dictionary block that lets you choose what kind of power type turns into another power type. It could include any kind of energy type that is in a modpack. Modpack makers could turn off compatibility functionality and people could use this block to turn Forge Energy into Redstone Flux, Crystal Flux, Build Craft Joules, Electric Units, and other energy types. Yes, I know that there are already Energy Converter mods that can do this, but even one less mod could make the difference in how fast modded Minecraft can load or how laggy a world can be. One day, such a thing will happen, but for now, may we hold our peace as we try not to blow up our machinery.
You can use the configurator on the correct mode (shift-scroll to change mode) to both be able to shift-right click to remove pieces in wrench mode and use the other modes for changing sidedness of machines - even those ones!!!!! It will look all wrong because the graphics don't change, but you can use that to set the sidedness of power, liquid, gas, and items. You can't change auto-eject, but the sides you set will have the same auto-eject settings as the default machine. Hope this helps!!
Dire, to upgrade mekanism cables u can right click the appropriate alloy on the cable and it will upgrade 8 of them at a time if they are connected. Just an easy way to get the cables going without removing them
Mekanism machines only show the connector type on their sides (e.g. green is power, large yellow is gas), not the direction of travel (i.e. input or output)
I commented a while ago about this, but it's been a while. When you do the thermal evap plant you don't /have/ to use solar panels anymore like old versions, you can use a heater, I can't remember if it's powered heater or electric heater, there's also a fuel heater that's actually pretty good last I used it, but you need to keep it fueled and it's a bit wasteful as it can max out the plant and produce far more brine/whatever than you actually need and then just burns fuel for nothing. Anyway, you can either put a heater straight on the valves or use the mekanism heat pipes, though there is some heat loss across them so don't use a long stretch. The powered heater is nice as you can dial in exactly how much power you want to dump into it so you can meet demand without wasting power, and it processes way faster to the point your actually maybe producing too much even with a minimum height evap plant. If compact machines is in this pack(I can't remember) you could throw it into one.
I used to be annoyed by the arbitrary sidedness of Mekanism machines, and I still occasionally am, but now I just think of all of the people who harp on about everything must be NEAT and NOT NEAT is the END OF THE WORLD having to deal with it and I just.... smile....
The "sometimes stuff gets funky" is exactly why AE2 doesn't let you make patterns without having the actual items. So dire...Thaumcraft boots need vi charge, still haven't even touched using the 2nd and 3rd floors of the base, you didn't test the twilight spells and you could maybe look into those dragon eggs last time I played they took their time to hatch (hours).
I'm no techy, but my best bet is because drives have different amount of bytes (4k = 4000 bytes) but only ever 63 types (types of items/blocks). And 63 is far easier to fill than 4000, especially when most of your high quantities of items are sitting in a drawer somewhere. So if you're filling an AE system with a bunch of 'junk', a large amount of 4k's would do a far better job than anything higher than that.
@@LanaLlama20 Honestly I think it's a strange mechanic, and if something were introduced to have more modular drives where you can expand on bytes and types independently that'd be something cool. But, the mod author probably has a reason for it so guess we'll have to deal with it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
He said in the comments on another video that his schedule recently has gotten too hectic for him to have time to play on it. He's been taking a lot of contracting work the last couple months.
Wotcha!! have you considered putting Actually Additions Greenhouse Glass above your farms to accelerate ALL the ticks? I figure that might be right up your street. Sulfur Maximus!
why not 16k storage drives? i know you've got some argument about the type storage, but like, you have a drive and fill it with 4k drives, you've got 40k total storage, but if you fill it with 16k drives you've got 160k storage with the same available amount of types. also, you might want to set up a series of chemical crystallisers because they can't be tier upgraded, they only work one crystal at a time. it slows down the whole process massively
Beyond 4 k it’s diminishing returns; anything he has more than 4 k of should be in a drawer the problem with 16k to 64k drives is that you store a LOT of single items when you’ll never need them and/or could just do it in a drawer; this causes adding storage for more types to be very very expensive
He can do a lot of these things very simply using single machines. It’s just that he has done it before so people act annoyed and say it’s the same content over and over again
Dire, Mekanism sideness, Small square = Gas, Big Square = Liquid, Green Square = Energy

@@tomcattermole1844 i thought so too, im glad I wasn't the only one thinking that
@@LanaLlama20 Honestly I think it's a strange mechanic, and if something were introduced to have more modular drives where you can expand on bytes and types independently that'd be something cool. But, the mod author probably has a reason for it so guess we'll have to deal with it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I have a question: does anyone know what happened to Forgecraft?
He said in the comments on another video that his schedule recently has gotten too hectic for him to have time to play on it. He's been taking a lot of contracting work the last couple months.

Wotcha!! have you considered putting Actually Additions Greenhouse Glass above your farms to accelerate ALL the ticks? I figure that might be right up your street. Sulfur Maximus!
He tried, doesn't work in this pack
I wish someday you would actually put up some proper floors and walls in your basement.
Dire since you’re back into tech can you work on the power armor again.
why not 16k storage drives? i know you've got some argument about the type storage, but like, you have a drive and fill it with 4k drives, you've got 40k total storage, but if you fill it with 16k drives you've got 160k storage with the same available amount of types.
also, you might want to set up a series of chemical crystallisers because they can't be tier upgraded, they only work one crystal at a time. it slows down the whole process massively
Beyond 4 k it’s diminishing returns; anything he has more than 4 k of should be in a drawer the problem with 16k to 64k drives is that you store a LOT of single items when you’ll never need them and/or could just do it in a drawer; this causes adding storage for more types to be very very expensive
Void Ore Miner + Ore Quintupling = Tons of resources.
timeing dude
using xnet instead of pipes, cables and tubes might be a clean solution for the processing
Walter White should tech Dire some chem 101 😁😋
Finally!!!
Ive waited so long for this
Woooo dire
Maybe you can build that laser miner things for all colored lenses and process them via the machines
He can do a lot of these things very simply using single machines. It’s just that he has done it before so people act annoyed and say it’s the same content over and over again
When will you craft the POWER ARMOR???
Hey Dire, you should try the Block Reach enchant on your chestplate, it's such a nice quality of life improvement
dire, if you don't go back to that mansion and figure out what that chest-tablet thing is...
i guess i'll just wallow in frustration.
Make 128k storage
Pretty sure there is an easier way to do it without suffer. Something with brine
where is forge craft
He said in the comments on another video that his schedule has gotten too hectic for him to have time to play on the ForgeCraft server
you can fight the final boss of twilight forest
