Guys I have a questions I have a gtx 970 4gb,16 ram and i7 7700 I play this game on medium graphics and some on low and I have 70 fps and some Times he crash, why?
Ark is hungry for memory, and everything else! I’ll have to do some research on reducing memory usage. I know you can launch from steam with “extremely low memory”, but I’ll have to see what effect that actually has on memory usage.
What I noticed is that not one guide will tell you the whole truth about modifying these settings. For example, you have no idea that using windowed full-screen reduces fps by as much as 10% and it's not like it's the same for other games. There is no reason for this other than that this is ARK and it is what it is. Also, very counterintuitively, on some GPUs, anti-aliasing does not affect performance... AT ALL. Literally no difference in fps between Low and Epic but the image quality definitely improves! Highly recommend checking the performance impact on whatever setup you are using, it could be literally NONE and Epic looks better than High, for FREE. That's good old ARK! Also motion blur is awesome, it's actually implemented correctly in ARK, believe it or not, that's an unpopular opinion for ya! When you are getting solid 60 fps motion blur in ARK can make it seem like you are playing on a higher refresh monitor and getting even more fps. SERIOUSLY, TRY IT OUT: Force vsync on, and get your settings low enough to where fps does not drop below 60. Then move your mouse very quickly from side to side, then turn motion blur ON and try it again. Which one is "smoother?" Can't believe your eyes? Told ya.
@LiLi LiTHiUMM it's a matter of preference I guess. I personally like it. used to hate it until I tried it again. if the frame rate doesn't drop it makes things look smoother for me, maybe not for you.
Idk whats going on with my pc but in singleplayer averything works fine(40fps on all epic and 60-70 when I turn some things down). But when I jaoin a server no matter what server even my own then I cant pass the 40fps line and I get 10-20fps even when Im alone on the server... I also have really big delays, lvl up takes a while till I can see it after the music, eating food only fills up foodbar after 3minutes and the worst thing is the inventory delay when I want to throw out items. Can someone please explain why tf it is only on servers? Non of my hardware seems to hit bottleneck and the only thing I can imagine is my network (5mb/s downloadspeed and low ping). My friend has a similar problem but his connection is twice as good and he gets more that double the fps than me (but he also has better hardware)

I have rtx 3070 and ryzen 7 3700x and fps is always above 90 ( 90 - capped 160fps) with all epic settings. I think just turning shadow settings med-high it will always stay +100fps.
Omg i use ur settings and my fps is 80 now ty smch
You are welcome!
It completely messed up my graphics and made it worse to where it’s all blurry :(
Sorry to hear that. I don't know how that could have happened. Try starting from one of the default settings again.
I have everything on high and the textures look blurry even with the resolution slider all the way to 1920x1080 any help?
Im started to get frustrated with something. I use a streaming service (geforce now) since i dont have a gaming computer. Now ark was fine for months until a few days ago. Now it works amazingly on epic settings and everything, but now its as if they are all at low. I looked at a dinosaur and its literally ps1 graphics. no matter how many things i do (reset, try the other options, reinstall ark, etc) it doesnt change at all. Im just stuck with THE MOST TRASH QUALITY and its really annoying. are you able to help?
please and thank you.
I wish I could help with that, but I don’t have any experience with that. Maybe someone else in the comment section can help?
if play in directx 10 mode it does that
Change from fullscreen to windowed full screen. I had the same issue.. seems to be driver related.
@@GrayFoxIRL i'll try that later when i get on. i'll let you know if it works.
im getting stuttering when flying and looking around sometimes is that normal?
It does happen occasionally.
I've got a gtx 1060 and i7 and this game is glitchy as hell on any settings its barely playable I've now uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times
Fixed it turns out my overclock was just go the point that ark pushed it to glitch for me I got rid of the clock and its running sweet as a nut now
I am glad you figured it out!
wish they optimized it like the windows 10 version
What are you playing on 11?
I got a decent gaming pc and I’m playing Genesis pt 2. and even with no dinos near me at all, I can’t even get to 42 FPS and when I walk around or turn, it goes to like 15 FPS and below.
That’s too bad. What settings are you using?
My games textures is all fucked and i get a white screen sometimes when i try to spawn and it just freezes
You might want to try to verify the integrity of your game files.
I have everything set to low and I'm still barley hitting 50 fps on a gaming laptop. And my laptop sounds like it's about to burst
Sounds like my old laptop.
i have the 1660 super installed all drivers are up to date but i'm having problems with the dinos and some of the objects its putting lines off them, i've sorted it on nvidia its self and its still doing it so i don't know how to stop it, do you have any advice?
Sorry Viickii, but I don't have an answer for that. I experienced something similar, that glitched on and off. It went away eventually, I am not sure if it was an update to Ark, or my graphics card driver, or was some fluke.
legit difference in fps only shows when going from epic to low, everything else is 80-40 fps in viking bay
FPS depends a lot on what is happening in the game too.
Guys I have a questions I have a gtx 970 4gb,16 ram and i7 7700 I play this game on medium graphics and some on low and I have 70 fps and some Times he crash, why?
Nice now can we get a video on how to make it not suck up all my Memory?
Ark is hungry for memory, and everything else! I’ll have to do some research on reducing memory usage. I know you can launch from steam with “extremely low memory”, but I’ll have to see what effect that actually has on memory usage.
Hey, where are the HDR settings?
My resolution is capped at 720 why
ark has the worst lighting I've ever seen
No
Thank you so much first game graphics make me blind
Glad I could help
Thanks so much your my Jesus!
You are welcome! Bless you.
I have r5 3400g gtx 1650 4gb and 8 gb i play on max settings like 40 fps, but on my settings i get over 70+
That’s a good fps for Ark
@@FatFrogsSwamp thanks
its not letting me full screen ark on pc
*_What if i lower my resolution to 900p and i am using rx 550 2gb would i be able to atleast get 30 fps ?_*
You probably can get 30 fps most of the time, but if you are at a larger base, or an area with a lot of dinos it will most likely go below 30 fps.
@@FatFrogsSwamp *_Thank's a lot....!_*
hey i cant see my cursor how can i fix that?
It happens to me all the time! I wish I knew how to fix it. It usually comes back after a few clicks.
@@FatFrogsSwamp so u just spam click left click and it show up?
Anyone know how I can play 1920x1080 on windows 10 edition? I can only play at 1600x900
how do you open that tab thing where you can max your fps
Just the tab key
Good job
Thanks
My friend has a similar problem but his connection is twice as good and he gets more that double the fps than me (but he also has better hardware)
servers have a lot of mods its not like singleplayer a lot of differnt stuff which makes it lag.
For me this dos not work T_T my map dos not load my floor is still bugging
Sorry it wasn’t a help to you.
I have this game on Steam but my PC only has 2GB RAM.
That probably won’t work out too well.
@@FatFrogsSwamp it didn't. I don't understand why they even sell computers with less than 8GB RAM. It makes no sense at all. It's like quadruple charging people for the games they are going to buy. Human greed is quite fucking annoying, considering everyone has to charge up to 100x what something costs to make. That is greedy as fuck.
How do I going in to The settings
Hit ESC
not bad - im getting a solid 40fps on med-high settings with fx4300 and 1050ti lol
I'm glad it's helping you out.
