Jordan Smith is primarily a Christian artist, so mainstream music doesn't really pay him much attention, but he has sung several anthems, including an NFL playoff game last year. You should check out his Voice videos, especially his audition cover of Chandelier and then his rendition of Somebody to Love. He is amazing!

Jordan is an amazing singer. I feel the spirit of God through his voice every single song he sings. I willnever forgetthe first time I heard him sing this song. I had goosebumps for at least ten minutes and cried uncontrollably. Still to this da can't explain it.

Mark Lowry wrote the lyrics to this song, Buddy Green wrote the music. Mark use to sing with the Gaither Vocal Band. The song was originally a script Mark wrote for his church’s Christmas play. He then took the lyrics to Buddy Green to put to music. It was first performed and released by Michael English. There have been so many covers of this song made by various artists, including from Mark himself. Look up the Voctave recording of the song. Mark is the lead vocal in that rendition. 😊
We knew he was great, but when he did "somebody to love" on the voice, he went down as the GOAT on that show! Freddie would have been proud.

I have been a fan of Jordan since he walked on the Voice stage. He continually blows me away. He can sing the phone book and He can make it sound fabulous. He just got a Dove award for best album in the Christian music world. He always surprises me with whatever he decides to do. He never disappoints.
Jordan Smith won The Voice USA a few years ago. His auditionnwas Chandelier. His final song was Queen's Somebody to Love. It was extraordinary. Botj his audition and Somebody to Love blew everyone's minds and rightly so. Pkease react to them or pkease watch them just for you!

The first time I heard this song, Clay Aikens sang it, then I heard Pentatonic sing it. Then...then here comes Jordan Smith that did the Greatest Version EVER! HALLELUJAH!!! I LOVE IT Jordan
The song was written by Mark Lowry of the back in the 80s and then put to music later. I believe it was late 80s when it was first released. It's probably the only song written after the 1960s to be considered a Christmas classic. A capella group Pentatonix has a great rendition of this song as well. This version was created for Jordan Smith by Tommee Profitt for his epic cinematic Christmas album. Profitt is the producer behind rapper NF and also has a bunch of songs in movie trailers. He thought the story of Christmas - the story of God coming down to earth to the save the world - was pretty epic and deserved the epic treatment that film scores and movie trailers get. He wrote each arrangement with a particular singer in mind and this was Jordan's song from the beginning.

Mark Lowry wrote this song -- Mark is an extremely talented singer/songwriter/comedian. Jordan is an amazingly talented singer who won The Voice. Look at the compilation of his performances on The Voice. OMGoodness! I think that he is one of the best male singers in the nation! (David Phelps is another.)

@@CVTECK1Kenny Rogers version was the first version of this song I ever heard. Natalie Cole sings a good rendition, too; also Clay Aiken. I find that Kenny Rogers version is the easiest version to sing along to or to sing alone.

Jordan smith won season 9 of the voice. You should listen to all his songs on that season; he is incredible. Jordan did not write "Mary Did You Know." Jordan did not compose this song. Over 20 years ago Mark Lowry wrote the words and Buddy Greene the music to "Mary Did You Know." I have listened to Mark Lowry (who was part of the Gaithers quartet) talk about how he came to write "Mary Did You Know." And you are right. he purposely put it in the form of questions---did she have any idea the enormity of what would happen to her, to her baby?. About Jordan, who is a deeply religious person who loves all forms of music,: you should listen to all the songs he performed on his way to winning season 9 of The Voice.
