Thanks to your video I did it in 2 hours. FitcamX front and rear. Was the first time in my life I installed a dashcam myself. Thanks again for the video. It works even for an 70 year old man. 🥴
You saved me! I couldn’t find any video on installing a rear dash cam on my EV6. Never done anything like this before but you made it pretty easy. Thank you so much for this video!!!
Nice job. Is there any reason you did not insert the backup camera wire from the bottom of the doors? I have the Ultimate and the sunroof is on the way.
Quality install, good to see the attention placed on bits you can't see. I'm thinking of installing headrest monitors, any advice on where to take the 12v feed? I was planning to tap in behind the central cigarette socket.
Awesome video, I’m in Ireland so it works perfect :) However I don’t understand where did you connect the hardwire cable: it looks like you connected only the yellow one? That means parking mode won’t work? I connected the red one on the third from above, first column (“AMP”). Tester showed current while car was off. However the camera doesn’t power up. I might be missing something. (It works with the usb power adapter).
@@sp88tips yep, you’re right. I bought another adapter and connected to the live 12, now works like a charm (including parking mode). By the way, you video was amazing: I followed it thoroughly to pass the cables.
Did you unplug the battery? Does it somehow not initiate the airbags? Also is there a reason you choose the driver side? Planning to install the read camera in couple of days. Got the EU version with the left hand drive. But thinking of running the wires on the right side. I have not enabled park mode yet and don’t think I will.
I didn't disconnect the battery. If the airbag went off, that would be a disaster. Anything built has to be foolproof. Airbags can't deploy willinilly. The right side is the same as the fuse box, but it doesn't matter; the left or right is mainly decided for the hardwire kit where the fuse box is located.

Does hardwiring drain through battery in parking mode?
This was very helpful. Thank you for sharing it.
I’m glad you found the video helpful, more videos to come soon!

I wouldn't expect the kit to work with out connecting 12v live feed aswell as the switched live and earth.
