That translation is not quite correct. It's not "the sky I never reached" it's "the heaven I never reached". There are clips where the text rolls while the words are sung and I think you should look for those, I think you're missing out by checking the lyrics after the song.

There are clips where the text rolls while the words are sung and I think you should look for those, I think you're missing out by checking the lyrics after the song.

You should check out her singing "Du måste finnas" from the musical Kristina från Duvemåla. It's beauteful, and you can also add english subtitles to that video. And while you're at it, maybe also Peter Jöback singing "Guldet blev till sand" from the same musical. It's possible to get english subtitles to that one too. Both those performances are filled with so much emotions, they are incredible both of them. The musical is about a family mocing to the American continent in the 1800s.

You have to see the movie Såsom i himmelen to understand about WHY she was singing these words! She was abused by her husband and had a terrible life with him.
The translation of 'himmel' should be 'heaven' not 'sky"
