Old Alabama Gardener has a recipe for okra and squash. He only boiled okra for 8 minutes in the brine and put in the jar and sealed. No water bath

😁 Not going to argue with Old Alabama Gardener; I've seen others do it that way also; but as for me, I'll stick with canning. Thanks for watching!

This year I used a canning recipe from Old Alabama Gardner. Your recipe sounds pretty close.

Could be. 😁When it is something new for me, I usually research several different recipes and often pick from each one to come up with a recipe that I like. Thanks for watching!

What elevation are you and how long on normal elevation

Hi, I'm a little over 1000 feet in elevation. When pressure canning the elevation doesn't affect the time only the amount of pressure. If you are under 1000 feet, then you would only need to use 10 pounds of pressure; over 1000 feet uses 15 pounds of pressure. Hope that helps.

thank you for this comparison. I love fried okra but I want it kind of crunchy. Do you have a video for picked okra? My grandma used to pickle it and I was to young to learn from her before she had passed.

You're welcome. Yes I like my fried okra kind of crunchy too. Sorry, I don't have anything on pickled okra; I don't really care for pickled anything. I've tried pickling several things but just not into it. Don't even like pickles on my burgers. 😁
