- Backyard Turtle Pond Build!
Hello everyone! I'm David Hamlin, owner of Serene Water Gardens. In this video I wanted to share with you a backyard turtle pond build my team and I completed. This turtle pond was complete in Michigan City and it looks absoluetly gorgeous. This turtle pond is 20x14 feet and has a depth of 30 inches.
Some features of this turtle pond include an intake bay where the owner can easily remove debris from the top of the pond, an upflow constructed wetland filter that leads to 4 beautiful waterfalls and some awesome faux wall panels that pulls this pond build together.

Beautiful set up. Those will be some happy turtles
Good job looks really nice. I am doing a turtle pond next so was great to see. Thanks for the share.
Nice job!
Looks Great!
So cool
I love the concept but I have two critiques... one is simply the video--well detailed throughout the whole process but it's nearly 30 minutes long (which I like) but with only about 30 seconds dedicated to the completed project. Second, as a turtle owner, it's amazing what they can climb up and those spots on the sides of the waterfall can easily be scaled by Painters, Sliders and Map Turtles--couldn't tell if there was any additional barrier on that tier.
With that said, I love the build--especially the oversized wetland because turtles are messy eaters and the bay intake rather than a skimmer. Not only is it better for avoiding the turtles possibly getting trapped, but it's much better for collecting the floating food that spoils in the filter media... instead, it gives the turtles more time to get to it--it can even be planned as the "feeding spot".
Thanks Mike, great feedback!
The idiots loading the trailer with boulders if they were professionals they would have put a few inches of sand on the bottom then putting in the boulders.
