  • Several years ago, I began planning to build a large pond for my goldfish. more specifically, something I could swim in with them. Various circumstances pushed the project back. However, late last year I began planning for it once again and I'm happen to finally share it with you.
I couldn't have done this along, though. Thanks to ‪@EdThePondProfessor‬ ‪@TEAMAquascape‬ ‪@AquaticEdge‬ and many other for helping me bring this dream to fruition. Enjoy!
If you're in the Pittsburgh, PA area and are looking for a pond, Aquatic Edge, check out Aquatic Edge.

My friend, you are an inspiration. I haven't been a follower for very long (I've only recently learned about recreational terrarium building) but have been interested in building natural swimming pools. This video beautifully and elegantly blends the two together. I will be rewatching this video for years to come. Thank you for sharing this. Can't wait to see updates on this!

This is beyond awesome, it’s gorgeous, and I can’t believe it all got wrapped up in practically 8 days!!! I’m sure the fish will love the open space!

After 3 months, 6 months or a year can you do an update on this so we can see how it grew from what it is right now?
    Edit: Dang I'm famous lol

This pond ecosystem will be a content machine. Smart move on Tanner’s part to realize a personal dream while giving himself an endless source of desirable content.

This has got to be one of the most realistic and natural aquascape ponds I've seen on RUclips. It's going to be a lot better once it matures.. can't wait!

We just completed 99.5% of a build for a 700 gallon pond at our house for 6 feeder goldfish I bought for an aquaponics project for my classroom. We had a very small 80 gallon water feature at our house, but I thought those little guys who spent nine months putting up with all of the attention of my students deserved a better home in which to retire. We have double waterfalls and a stream for them to enjoy. We have no plans to replace them. We love your build!

I bought 3 feeder fish for my outdoor porch pond it's basically a half barrel with standard underwater filtres. The fish I bought about 7 years ago and were feeders about an inch. They have lived outside all year round. I add a small heater so the water doesn't freeze. They're so big now, next year doing a semi submerged pond but bigger. I love your work. 😊

So refreshing to see the "humble goldfish" celebrated. They are such beautiful fish with a calming energy. Your fish are very lucky to have such a lovely home! I wish all goldfish could experience a home closer to their natural habitat.

I love your pond! Five years ago, I turned my 5000 gallon above ground swimming pool, into a "feeder" goldfish pond. It is 4 feet deep. The 20 babies I originally bought have multiplied. I have lost a few as well, most likely to raccoons or gray herons. I plan to make them an inground pond sometime this winter or by next Spring at the latest. I can't wait!

the pond itself is beautiful. but even more beautiful are the things you can't really see - the love you have for your goldfish, MJ's spirit living on and being honored, the amazing reminder of how many incredible people came together to make a dream into reality...i could go on lol but seriously, this is truly a masterpiece!!

Just an idea I had, but would it be possible to give monthly/bi-monthly updates on the pond? I for one am very interested to see how it matures and grows and I’m sure many others would appreciate it as well!
    Keep up the great work!
