Metal Blade Records present Between the Buried and Me "Coma Ecliptic: Live". The concert, which features the band performing "Coma Ecliptic" in its entirety, was filmed live on location October 4th, 2017 at The Observatory North Park in San Diego, CA. Bassist Dan Briggs comments: "The genesis of the Coma Ecliptic filming was based around capturing the look and feel of the show our lighting director Chris Hill produced for the full album set. It's such an important record for us and our progression as a band and the visual representation captures the moods of our tragic tale so well. It's the perfect way to wrap up the last two years we've been living with this album day in and day out!" Видеоклипы

Awesome
Too good!
FACT
You are the Blake Richardson of commenting.
It's super ridiculous that BTBAM has such a layered sound with so much going on and they still pull it off live. So much talent.
Absolutely, Devin Townsend could learn a lot from this. :)
I have underestimated this album. Everything this band does is gold
I had too. Listened once maybe twice... and not even all the way through, then put it away. Until just now. At this late stage of the game. This truly is phenomenal. Bravo BTBAM, bravo.
This remains the only BTBAM album I haven't loved whole heartedly since they started their roll with Colors, and I can't figure out why. It's always been at a reserve from me for some reason, as much as I can appreciate the skill that went into it.
It seems like I see that a TON when BTBAM fans talk about this album. I don't get it. I fell in love almost instantly. Arguably my favorite album of theirs, and one of my favorite albums of all time.
@@disco4535 I guess the main complaint from older fans was the lack (or rather diminished amount) of harsh vocals. I undersand the complaint if the thing you love the most out of BTBAM are Tommy's harsh vocals, but this album gives you so much more. I mean, it has everything you love about BTBAM -- nasty breakdowns, Blake's tremendous blasbeats and lushous drum fills, tasty guitar lines and Dan's all-encompassing bass tone -- and it gives Tommy the freedom to explore more his vocal range. In my opinion, the cleans don't take away from the harsh vocals, instead, they only make them more rewarding and impactful because of the contrast. This was my gateway album to BTBAM so I'm biased, but I just love this album more each time I listen to it.
I don't think I truly appreciated this album when I first listened to it. Now I am on a kick and I can't stop listening to it. I'd like to revisit Parallax I and II while I'm at it. I pretty much have S/T, Silent Circus, Alaska, and Colors memorized at this point. I'm still not too familiar with Automata I and II yet although I'm getting there.
I discovered this album from a Spotify suggestion and became completely obsessed with it. I think I played it back to back for about 3 months.
As others have said the sound and performance is so close to the album version it's amazing.
Nice to see a future BTBAM fan!! If you go through their discography you are in for the musical treat or your life!! Their albums are so fucking magnificent is unbeliveable, even the new ones are excellent.
Welcome to our journey
I'm on myself
It is one of those no skip albums for sure
now this is prime time quarantine material
Pound for pound probably one of the most talented groups in existence, yet it feels like each member is underrated in their field.
it's hard to say each one of them isn't the best compositionally on their respective instruments.
Hard to believe they've been at it consistently for almost 20 years.
I got their first CD from a merch table waaaaay back before they were anything like they are today, it's really amazing looking over their discography and seeing how much they've grown.
"Alaska" came out in 2005 I think. Think on that.
@@ZMB-on5ub yeah, their third album. It's amazing and can't wait for the upcoming this year!
They're like the Spurs with Pop at the wheel lol.
It's amazing how they can reproduce that entire album live. Even all the overdubs that were done in the studio were present in the live show. The whole album came to life on that stage. Brilliant!
This is not amazing at all all jam bands sound better live than on the album. A majority of metal bands are not worth a shit live. Btbam is not one of those bands
Just about the greatest metal band to ever exist. They completely smashed it out the park on the Colors Ten Year Anniversary Tour. The sound production quality of their sets is exquisite.
They kill it every time

Can we get a raise for these sound engineers, sound quality top notch. Thank you.
This band is amazing in so many ways, but what impresses me the most is that they can write an entire album that flows so well with perfect transitions and logic from start to end, then be able to 100% reproduce it live with no transitions, without making it sound incoherent. That's BTBAM for you !

Helloooooo, Newman
Hello, handsome.
Dan Briggs deserves more closeups
Sotiris Monachogios Dan Briggs deserves more solos.
the apple kingdom really hope we see more dan solos/leads on their next record
And more volume
Well...you got those solos you asked for. Dan slayed it on the new album.
I won't rest until they release a new cut of this show that is only Dan Cam.
This will forever be one of the most incredible and well articulated albums ever written by a metal band
true, and its only BTBAM's 3rd or 4th best one! shows how sick they are!
They are brilliant. Was lucky enough to see them perform colors in its entirety.
The first time I heard it, I was hanging out with some fun guys. Blew my lid right off. This album will always be special to me. Every time I hear it, I feel "altered".
This is consistently the best band to be able recreate exactly what they recorded to live performance. I will never cease to be amazed by them.
I agree with the funeral theme of yr last comment, but I would recommend Tomahawk (with Mike Patton, Duane Denson of The Jesus Lizard, John Stanier of Helmet!! and ex-Melvins bass player Kevin Rutmanis). Saw them@ the House of Blues Anaheim during the Mit Gas tour...technically every bit as clean as the album, plus M. Patton tweaking knows & dials & synths while singing amazingly, never missing a note or cutting a word off due to running out of air or a tough note to hit & sustain. SUPER-professional. And just freakishly flawless--not fair to the audience, because when you see a flawless or even near-flawless performance you can't help but wonder why your other favorite acts can't do that, even when they may be technically more proficient than, say, Tomahawk's instrumentalists.
@@ignoblesavage5559 I will check them out!
If you want your band to recreate their album what is yhe point of seeing them live just buy a pa system. I was confused many years ago and I thought the purpose of live concerts was to recreate their album live on stage but that is not the point of live music I assure you
@@garrettpatterson9490 more of how they’re so technically proficient in studio, and they’re able to pull it off time and time again. But since you’re clearly an expert as to what people want when they see a band live, I’ll defer to you :)

The beginning of Famine Wolf gives me chills.
Great concert, happy this is now on RUclips forever

Ive seen BTBAM at least 7 times over the years...never let down, never mediocre , never flacid ....
I saw them years ago when Dusty had a horrible back issue. He couldn't even stand/barely walk on stage but gave it his all from a stool. Total pro's

This abum gets better every time you listen to it.
This is flawless. I believe this is one of the albums I will be showing my kids in 10 years and raving about it like my dad did with Korn and others with me growing up. Fucking legends. If you havent seen these guys live you're SEVERELY missing out.

However… what u think about the new single 😉
Seen BTBAM 6 times and this was absolutely their best show! The production and story telling was unlike anything I had ever experienced.
I love how they put a big glowing halo around Jesus, their drummer. Looks cool.
They are all a bunch of Jesuses.
Yes... so those Giles. Such a badass show.

The Ectopic Stroll is just something else live. Thanks BTBAM ♥
One of the best metal bands of this generation. Thank You! You guys are a true inspiration !
such a tight live performance. the guitarists just don't fuck up ever
rhythm guitar should be a little louder in the mix
They do. But they're only human. I fkn love these guys. Seen them live a couple handfuls of times lol
Wow hella random to see you in a random comment section! Hope ur doing well bro watched all your reviews when you were doing ccc
The best musicians are the ones that make you think they never screw up. Covering up screw ups is a skill unto itself.
This might be the only metal show that I’d want a seat for. Mostly so I can sit on the edge of it.
Took me a while to 'get' this band but now i love em. It's like if dream theater and mars volta had a bipolar baby
Brilliant album, reminds me of moving to a new country on my own in 2015 and listening to this over and over again as I was familiarizing myself with a new city.
Love it when an album connects like that to a specific time of life
I have a whole new appreciation for this album now that I've seen it live! It was almost like listening to it for the first time ever! That joy of discovery! Thank you so much for this!
Holy shit was Tommy on fire that night. Clean AF
And his harsh vocals were more "on point" than in every current tour since
They all were.

The way he goes higher and higher towards the climax of Life in Velvet.... *chef's kiss*
I was at that show, what an amazing memory! Still remains one of my top 3 bands!
glad i gave this band a chance. good asf
Glad you gave them a shot! This is definitely a great album to introduce people to the band. Some of their earlier records might put people off by how heavy they are before actually giving them a proper listen.
Welcome to the club!

Such a great show. Love you guys.
Simplemente, gracias.
Tommy's performance is impressive to say the least, they're all tight as usual but this album is so underrated - it's like a soundtrack to a live screenplay and very immersive, Dustie is hands down a fantastic soloist with the amount of emotion he releases, Paul is too majestic and Dan is a compositional genius and arguably the backbone directing their fabulous work
I dont believe this only have 160k views because I alone must have watched it 100k times
Alaska changed my life. I've been on board ever since.
They never stop bringing a joyful tear to my eye
One of my favorits for sure ! blake is such a beast :O
incredible! I have not heard this material yet and my jaw is dropped to the floor. They are such an amazing band. Virtuosity, tonal exploration pushed to the boundaries but still the same great original style of theirs. I have seen them twice in London few years back and that was unforgettable experience. I think I shall definitely get the tickets to their show if they play London again after the covid-19 lockdown ends..
This is easily their best album, hands down. Maximum talent, maximum composition, minimal growl. I wish all their albums were like this.
For me it's Colors followed closely by their Hypersleep Dialogues EP, everything I love about them packed into 90ish minutes.
One listen and this was an all-time top 10 metal album for me.
Amazing!!!! After Corona come to Brazil!!!
Eles estiveram aqui em março agora vai demorar infelizmente.

Just what I needed with this lockdown 🤘
Such an amazing band. Capable of such progressive aggression and and then.., how to be still and haunting. Sunshine to darkness and the palette in between. Bravo!!!

Amazing how much you guys did visually with just lights
Simple lights and that’s all you guys needed to add to the music to put on a performance that felt beyond just a live band playing music
I felt like I seen the story that pops up in my head when I listen to this album being performed in live action infront of me
Absolutely surreal
I’ve seen BTBAM 4 times already and I don’t think I’ll ever stop going to a show whenever you guys tour
I just realized that this is the exact show I went too
Wow.
Since I'm bored and stuck in doors. I would like to offer a few observations after watching yet another jaw dropping performance by the best band on the planet. Don't worry. It's long but I have a good point to make.
Before BtBaM I was a huge fan of Opeth. (Still am. Saw them with Devin Townsend and Gojira a couple years ago. Fan-fucking-tastic show)
They basically tried to do the same thing. Switching between genres. Switching up clean vocals with death metal vocals. Blackwater Park is still one of my favorite albums of all time. Deliverance too. But then Opeth started getting mixed signals from the fans. They were attracting two different kinds of fans who liked them equally but not all at once. Something I observed early on at live shows.
In 2003 Opeth puts out Damnation and really stirs the pot. All clean tone. All clean vocals. I think it's a great album but it split the fan base down the middle.
Then they release Ghost Reveries which is probably one of their best albums. It was a return to formula but the damage had been done. There are some sensitive fucking metal heads out there.
Even I was a bit sceptacal they would ever release another Blackwater Park. Which is why by the time they released Watershed, I didn't even know it came out. Opeth was off my radar. Aside from listening to everything from Orchid to Blackwater and sometimes Watershed I didn't really keep track.
Before Damnation they released an album every single year. Ghost Reveries took 2 years and I think Watershed took 2 or 3 as well.
The rest of my knowledge (up until a couple years ago) comes from Wikipedia because like I said. "Off radar" Friends weren't really interested. Other bands were coming onto the scene. Yada-fucking-yada.
Between 2011 and 2016 they release Heritage, Pale Communion & Sorceress. I didn't know what had happened but they changed completely and finally picked a genre they fucking excelled at. Old school progressive rock.
The first album I heard that pulled me back in was Pale Communion. It took me totally off guard. It was heavy and progressive but old school and deep. All clean vocals. I thought it was great but I was very confused. Where was my Blackwater Park II?
I go back listen to Heritage, same thing. Sorceress, same thing. Now they have a new album. Same formula. Same thing. Fucking great. And here is the thing. You can still tell it's Opeth. One forum I was on asked the question. Are you just fans of Metal or are you fans of Opeth?
I was a fan of Opeth... and metal. Blackwater Park already exists. Why was I trying to put pressure on them to make another one? They had evolved. And I was so fucking happy for them.
By the time I saw them live with this new format I was fully committed again and they fucking blew every single person away at that show. No more split fan base. Fans of Opeth were fans of Opeth. Not Clean Opeth or heavy Opeth. Just Opeth. And they still play a lot of heavy shit live too. And it fits in great with the new shit.
This has happened to other bands who haven't faired too well on the other side. Mastodon, Gojira, Metallica even
Opeth came out better than ever and I actually prefer the new stuff now. I post this here for people to get a true perspective on BtBaM. These guys probably should have gone down a similar path. But they haven't. They have never split their fan base. They have only gotten better. And they really didn't even need to.
That is why I think this band is the greatest band on the planet. Because I don't want Colors II. Never even crossed my mind. They have consistently kept me satisfied with the amount of content and growth they have achieved. And that is beyond amazing. These guys are an enigma and I can't wait to see what comes next.
I don't know Opeth.
But Mastodon changed once Hinds got hit in the head (by shavo I think?) And he was knocked out. When he was he claims he saw shit and didn't want to be heavy anymore.
But BTBAM have just always mixed everything so well. You can see they arent the angry screamo band. Colors set them apart. White Walls is actually about writing the album and being different and thinking people would hate it. They were trapped inside cause of the weather. Since then they have stayed heavy but mixed is so many genre styles. Hell Ants of the Sky has a Hoedown. They definitely give you something for everyone. Hard as fuck, screaming, clean vocals. They all play their parts so well. Tommy is a monster singer and showman. And he doesn't let his side project interfer (though Dim Ignition does but it's great). And man do they know how to end an album. Option Oblivion and Life in Velvet together is insane. Silent Flight Parliament/ Goodbye to everything. White Walls. Swim to the moon. Blot.
I legit get sad thinking they may hang it up soon enough. We are all getting older.
This is amazing. Finally somebody who understands why I love newer BTBAM so much better than older BTBAM. I honestly don’t care much for Colors. Then again, Coma Ecliptic was my introduction to them, so maybe that’s partly why I gravitate towards their newer stuff. (I’m late to the party, I know.) But Automatia 1 and 2 were incredible, and I just recently went back and listened to the Parallax II. I suppose that’s considered an older album now, but not as old as “old” BTBAM. Also.. the one and only Opeth album I’ve listened to all the way through was Pale Communication, funny enough. Knocked my socks off. I’d never heard anything like that before. Is it even worth my time going back to old Opeth? 😂🤷🏼♂️
@@LudaChez Shavos friend. Shavo felt terrible. Hinds was just being Hinds and snapped shavo in the butt with a towel or something stupid and Shavo's friend had to be a white knight and sucker punched Brent.
@@julianvandersteen2303 dude, you gotta check out The Great Misdirect.
@@julianvandersteen2303 If Pale Communion is the only album you've heard then older Opeth might be a hard sell. Try listening to Blackwater Park. If you don't like that then you won't like any of their older stuff.
