    I just ate my version. It was food fell from heaven. I owe my sprout-inspiration to videos like these. So here's what I did (which you're totally not interested in):
    I quartered my sprouts to begin with and removed the white tip. Now all bitterness is gone.
    - In medium hot saute pan, add thin quarter-slices of Chorizo sausage in olive oil . Let the oil absorb the rich tastiness of the Chorizo.
    - Add the quartered sprouts and stir-fry for 4-5 minutes and add garlic. I happened to use tons of fresh garlic.
    - Add your favorite spices. I used salt, cayenne (for health), black pepper, sweet paprika powder.
    - One good squeeze of lemon (a half lemon in its entirety is way too much in my opinion).
    - (next phase) Llike 4-5 minutes later, add fresh (!) chicken stock instead of water! Depth of moist in pan is half of the quartered sprouts.
    - Let it reduce, most likely add more spices and salt (layered spicing after adding each new component)
    - 7 minutes later you'll have divine Brussels sprouts. Drain the sprouts back back in pan or let the oil leak from sprouts on paper cloth.
    - Use leftover oily chickenstock moist as base for gravy for potatoes (along with juice from your meat. I used beef sausage with onions and a huge variety of spices.
    I ate it ten minutes ago whilst watching this video. God so delicious. My gist is that one could add Chorizo, lemon & fresh garlic to the oil for your sprouts. Takes ten to twelve minutes total, so do it while sausage or meat of choice is quietly sizzling in pan.

      Usually because ppl tend overcook them which makes then grey, mushy and brings out that old gymsock aroma..

    I love brussels sprouts! They are by far and away my favorite veggie. However, for some reason I just can't eat them if they're the least bit crunchy. They're far too bitter for me that way. I know many will say I ruin them like this, but I have to boil them until they're close to mushy. I guess that boils the bitterness out of them. I could eat them every day for life like that. :)

    • @FoodslingerTV
      @FoodslingerTV  4 года назад +2

      But you don't need to boil them to get them soft and leach out the bitterness. You can steam or roast as well and they will come out nice and soft if you cook them long enough.

    Most other recipes use tons of oil, plus, plus, plus; which makes them unhealthy. Our liver then has to struggle to process all that fried fat, full f other ingredients, like sugar, bacon or butter. Young liver copes then gets so congested of toxin build-up and people put on weight and create other health problems.
