My husband and I are in our 80's. We are under quarantine because of the virus. Our son has been grocery shopping for us. I told him to bring a few brussel sprouts home for us. He bought a big bag. I didn't know what to do with them. After watching your video, I know I am going to try it, as it looks good. I have gardened all my life, and like all vegetables, except brussel sprouts. They are my husband;'s favorites though, and yours looked so good, maybe I'll try them. Thank you for sharing.
Here I am a year later. I've tried cooking the brussel sprouts all kinds of ways. My husband liked them all. I just can't seem to eat them. They seem to grow in my mouth and I can't get them down. Yikes.
Thank you, this looks lovely. I like to make my Brussels sprouts with red onion and deglaze the pan with either white wine or chicken broth. Adding in that crispy bacon, minced garlic and parsley is so appealing. Reusing the bacon fat is just how my grandmother used to cook. Bravo!
I searched dozens of online recipes, but this one stood out. I have had similar preparations in trendy restaurants but this one was on another level. The only adjustment made was the addition of 3-4 tablespoons of maple syrup at the end which I think provided great balance considering the recipes addition of wine vinegar at the end. Brilliant job chef Ange. This will be my future default for brussel sprouts.
I’m growing Brussel sprouts in my garden this fall! They love the cold and frost! It’s the first time I’ve done this and I just found out how beautifully they grow on the stem of the plant. Who knew??!!
Made these for my husbands family dinner a couple months ago. It was such a hit many of his family members that don’t normally eat Brussels loved it, and his grandma asked me for the recipe! Making it soon for my friends.
Used to love steaming chopped Brussel sprouts in a steamer basket. Then stir-fry with some chopped cocktail onions, garlic, mushrooms, throw in some chopped pepperocini and feta cheese, serve in a warm pita-pocket with some warm falafel and hummus.
I had this dish at a restaurant here in Seattle a few years ago and it was so delicious I wanted to be able to make it at home. I've tried a few different recipes I found online, including the Food Network's recipe. They were all meh, your recipe blew them all out of the water!! Sooo good!! Thank you 🙏
A few years ago, I found a recipe. Maple Roasted Brussel sprouts with Bacon. I've been making it ever since. I read that this dish is served as a side dish for holidays? I absolutely love Brussel sprouts 😋😋😋👍
I have seen many videos and now I am starting to get you...you are a simple genius! Simple recipes with genius techniques. Thanks so much for giving us a new way to cook these delish ingredients.
I love this recipe. I've been making it a long time almost exactly like this. I skip onions though and use shallots. At the end when it's still hot, I take it next level with a dash of nutmeg, a splotch of butter, then crushed walnuts and tossed with a bit of maple syrup. (Yes, I'm Canadian lol)
Boil carrots sweet potatoes and squash. Even a bit of pumpkin if you like. Whip them up like you would mashed potatoes. Butter and maple syrup of your favorite spice. I personally use everything bagel seasoning. 😁
Here’s a recipe you may like. Boil squash sweet potatoes and carrots. Mash them up after cooked. Add bit of butter salt and pepper if you choose. If you have a bit of canned pumpkin add some that’s a bonus. A whisper of maple syrup on top and serve. yummy.😁Merry Christmas enjoy.
I have learned that I ca Discovered I am allergic to pepper from doing side work @ restaurants. So anything but the pepper. Love 💕 the sauteed scallions. Not white onions either cause it gives me ❤️ burn.
Glad to hear it! And congratulations. But memorializing artists after they’ve passed is not to be taken lightly. The whole presentation smacks as insincere. Genuine narration would do your projects well.
Finally after 77 years, I found a regular guy chef that has incredible talents. I'm distrusting of kitchen superstars, ("with the exception of Martha Stewart").... My all-time favorite 🤗... I am subscribing, and paying attention to this wonderful master of cuisine 🙏🙏👍👏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I made this recipe for my keto diet two weeka ago and even i am not a brusel sprout fan at all, it was very tasty for real. Today I am preparing it again. Very easy to prep.
My wife Loves Brussel sprouts and bacon and everything you used except we will omit the wine. I went out to the store today and bought some fresh brussel sprouts and No sugar added bacon. I made this for her dinner with some baked spiced up chicken Breasts, She said MMM. just like you did. And said this is so Good and Delicious. So i will be making it for her at Christmas 2021. Thanks for the Video and instructions. Merry Christmas and Best of the New Years to you and yours. 2022.
Chef Ange, came to this from your new and improved crispy chicken recipe/tutorial. Been oven roasting sprouts to the point of light char with various treatments prior to this and am about to try your version. Two things I like in your presentation. First, in this video I see what is lacking in your recent crispy chicken recipe: alternate times/temperatures for those of us still stuck with Stone Age conventional ovens versus convection ovens. Thanks for doing that to minimize our experimentation with time/temperature at home. Second, your detailed written instructions in the description portion of your video. You do good work, sir. Bravo Zulu.
You’re welcome in the comment section of any one of my videos! Thank you so much! I’ll try to get the information you’re looking for in future videos , but just like you I’m guessing with my best judgement! 🤞
Delicious side. I started making these years ago when diabetes made look for healthier alternatives. Highly recommended for taste and value. This can also be made in a frying pan. Thanks for bringing this tried and true favorite to us.
This actually looks really "easy & tasty"! I have bacon in my freezer, bought a bag of onions today, have the vinegar and everything else, tomorrow I'll buy the brussel sprouts and try it! Thanks! 🥰
I love Brussel Sprouts. I'm going to try this. I roast my Brussel Sprouts just like this but toss it afterwards with some Asian spicy and sweet pepper dipping sauce. So yummy.
I’ve been making this recipe stovetop rather than in oven. It’s not only my favorite way to make Brussels sprouts but also one of my favorite keto meals, I buy the frozen Brussels sprouts from Costco, which already has bacon. I add more bacon. Plus onion. My Dutch oven tends to get a lot of brown stuff stuck on, so I loosen the browned stuff with a splash of balsamic vinegar, keep the heat low, and cover with lid. I just eat a plate of that for dinner. So good! Thanks for this recipe!
Buddy That's A Pretty Good Looking Bowl of Brussel sprouts! YUM Yum Yummy!! Nice job love brussel sprouts, going to try this recipe!!! Thanks a lot!!😋😋😋
this is a perfect video...good audio, camera angles, and presentation. the best part... no wanna be comedian, no dumb ass dog cameos or useless information that has nothing to do with the recipe, very refreshing. good recipe for sure i am going to try it.
I made these for friendsmas dinner and they were a hit!! I doubled up the recipe to make a bigger batch and I’m glad I did. Everyone went for seconds, some even went for thirds 😂 they were flavorful. This will be a staple recipe for me now! Thanks for sharing 😊
Hello. As a frenchman, I am a bit shocked you did not "whitened" your B.sprouts :) By boiling them just about 2 minutes before cooking them, you'll remove a bunch of sulfur which will make them more digestable and taste better.
I just recently was converted to a Brussels sprouts lover. For years, I just could not stand them. But now…yum!! Can’t wait to try this technique when I have a family gathering. Wondering if these reheat well, just in case there are leftovers!! I’m following you-bet you have a lot of good recipes to share! Thanks!
Oh gosh! They came out great. I made these. However, I didn’t have the white wine vinegar but I did have the rice vinegar, and yes, I tried it. And oh boy! I was shocked and amazed as to how good this was! Thank you Chef Ang!!! This is becoming a staple for me. I think I’ll double the onion blend portion next time. I LOVE carmelized onions. 😂
My whole family has always HATED Brussel sprouts but after having to literally Pay them to try this recipe.. they now ask me to make Chef Angie’s BS every time they come home❤️
Oh my heavens! You just took brussel sprouts up another notch for me. I've loved brussel sprouts my entire life and love finding new ways to prepare them. Your video on these gems was good enough to get me to subscribe. I look forward to more of your videos.
Nice simple way you described to caramelise the onions and garlic with the white wine vinegar. Really brought out the flavour. I used an air fryer to cook the Brussels, roughly 15 mins. Altogether VERY nice!
Three yrs on no quarantine how time flies but they are still going on about it I mean let's move on.... So it's nearly Xmas and this looks good to try thankyou 😊
Excellent! Was tortured as a kid in the 1960s and 70s by those little green bastards back in the day when NOBODY cooked with garlic here in the UK. Am a convert now due to Italian wife’s excellent reinterpretation. Chopped cabbage also takes on a delicious caramelised flavour when cooked this way or even fried in a pan.
Have always been a lover of Brussel sprouts BUT your recipe is the absolute best I have ever seen. I followed your method and will not eat brussel sprouts any other way, Yes, I have subscribed and will follow you. Thank you, Chef Ange
That's pretty much been my technique for years with the addition of a tablespoon of dark brown sugar and a little balsamic vinegar in the pan with the onion garlic saute 60 seconds before pulling it off the burner.
That looks amazing, I’ll try a version here in France, but will only season the Brussels sprouts with salt and pepper as there is plenty of garlic to add, will also use balsamic vinegar for deglazing onions and garlic, will definitely sweeten up the dish.
@@ChefAnge Thank you for the tutorial! I am making this for a a dinner party tomorrow evening. But, can I make this a few hours before? Do I need to reheat the dish, and at what temperature and for how long? or would it be fine served room temperature? Thank you!
@@shsu7426 I would make everything separate and mix as close to serving as possible. Warm it up in the oven at 200 for 10-20 minutes before if it gets really cold.
Great recipe. The only change I made was using some of the bacon grease to coat the sprouts instead of cooking oil, and added in some toasted pine nuts at the end. We make these a couple times a months now. Thanks.
Made this tonight for folks that don't appreciate sprouts. Had to use sausage and a rub that had onion and garlic powder. I started getting compliments the moment I added the vinegar. Great call, Chef
My introduction to Brussels Sprouts as a kid left me thinking they smelled like and had the after taste of intestinal gas. THIS looks great!! I think I'll hang with you.
My wife is a much better cook than I as I'm usually limited to only cooking two things at once, I cooked Pork Scaloppini and your Brussel Sports. It was a very good meal! Thanks!
Thank you for using ALL of the ingredients from your containers. I watch cooking shows on YT all day long and I am shocked and stunned at how much food is left behind on some channels!
Yum! Going to try this next week. I liked your tip about cutting bacon while semi 🙄frozen. When I make this I think I'll dice the onion because I don't like long strips of onion.
Hey Chef Ange, I'm a fellow Chef as well! Great Recipe! The only thing that I did different was swapped out the Regular Vinegar for Balsamic Vinegar and I added a pinch of Herbs De Provance and they were wipped out on Turkey Day!
Love the container idea. I used a large paper plate and put several items on it, works great. I will be using containers now as well as paper plates. Love this recipe, so easy and yummy!
These are the best comments! I love turning people who don’t like vegetables! Props to the cook! A recipe is nothing without someone who knows what they are doing making it.
Another nice touch is to sprinkle some mozzarella, parmesan/romano, and some bread crumbs on top... and then grill in the oven til lightly browned. Bon Appetit

Make cooking so much easier!
I don't like brussel sprouts. Until NOW! I just made this last week and it was absolutely delicious! Thanks for a great new recipe!

Thank you so much for this recipe! I made it tonight and it came out perfect. 🥰
Glad you enjoyed!
Awesome good way to cook sprouts. My wife flipped over this recipe. Even if ya do not really like sprouts these might change your mind.
These are the best comments! I love turning people who don’t like vegetables! Props to the cook! A recipe is nothing without someone who knows what they are doing making it.
That looks delicious I'm going to start prepping everything right now.
Enjoy!
Another nice touch is to sprinkle some mozzarella, parmesan/romano, and some bread crumbs on top... and then grill in the oven til lightly browned. Bon Appetit
yum! Will have to try that!
Just made this. Absolutely delicious! Thank you
Glad you liked it!!
