I can identify with your build and time involved. I built a non-reverse trike in 2013 and I know full well what you must have gone through. I swear, I assembled and disassembled mine 50 times during the build. It was an open frame, street legal (motorcycle) with no real amenities, just barely legal. 2.5 L Dodge turbo mid- engine, 5 speed manual. However I got caught in a frog strangling rain a couple years ago, 110 miles from home. It changed my perspective of what you need on a vehicle if you want to be able to enjoy it on any given day. Guess what. It's apart again while I build a foam composite body for it. Yes, an actual d.o.t approved windshield, wipers, defroster, roof, side widows, full body panels, new instrumentation, like a hundred other pieces I never thought I would need originally. You did a great build on yours. I really like the single rear wheel layout because it gives you so much more room in the front for essential stuff like brake pedals and a decent dashboard. Ugh...Stay safe with your new toy.

Chris, they make a clip on trigger for spray cans. It's a lot easier on your hands. You paint almost like using a paint gun. And get a short piece of 3 in PVC pipe and a cap. The drill a hole in the cap, almost but not quite centered. Put a bolt thru that hole and tighten a nut (use washers). Then you can chuck the bolt in your drill, drop a can in the pipe and spin to shake. I use a small piece of foam to help it shake (the off center hole starts the shake). Takes a lot of the work out of rattle cans.

@@jerrywilcox9890 Ive done similar in my state. Most states have a checklist, as long as you meet the checklist requirements, it’s simple. As a motorcycle it’s easy, it’s a car where you have issues, because of a lot of states emission requirements, but no state as far as I’m aware has an emission standard for a motorcycle and yes a trike falls under motorcycle. I’ve personally built 11 custom home built motorcycles. 2 of them I sold to a guy who moved to California and he had no issues getting them titled and registered in California. Arguably the most strict when it comes to stuff like that.

You might want to look into how difficult it would be get that thing to a state where you could get it titled, registered, licensed, insured, and fully street legal. My guess is that some additional lighting, a horn, a rearview mirror or two, and a few other bits and bobs would get it there. Check with your state department of transportation about that. It might be easier than you think.

Consider covering the chassis with outdoor rated vinyl like that used in or on boats or Sunbrella water proof material. That would look really cool and it would give excellent protection in case you got caught in a sudden rain squall. I think there was a BMW concept that was covered with a fabric and you could see the tube frame in some locations.
Some areas could be sewn together and other areas, like between the suspension arms could be zippered to the front portion and the rear portion. Extra material is allowed for to cover the zippers. There were some French cars in the 1930s that were covered with colored canvass. You could do the same thing. I think it would look cool. Make patterns so that when you get tired of the color you can easily replace it. You should also install a plexiglass wind screen to keep bugs and sand out of your face.
