The guitarist for Monuments is fucking amazing, if you look up some videos of him playing, his down picking is insane, he's like a machine. His name's John Browne.
John Browne also has a solo side project called Flux Conduct that is absolutely amazing!
Saw them live a few years back with the Devin Townsend Project and Animals as Leaders. It was maybe about 35 or 40 Fahrenheit (2 to 4 Celsius) in the venue (Palladium in Worcester) which is apparently cold enough for a Canadian to complain about the temperature (closer to -10 Fahrenheit, -23 Celsius) outdoors. Also Monuments had their vocalist on mixed duties between Vocals and Saxophone which was incredible.

The Amanuensis is probably my 2nd favorite album of all time
I think it's my favourite. When I got it, I didn't listen to anything else for like 2 weeks and then I kept going back to it regularly. Alpha/Omega took over when it released but I still went back to Amaneunsis so often.
Which would be the first?
Make sure to listen to Flux Conduct- Yetzer Hara now that it's out! Got some Monuments members in it. Very jazzy.
