I avoid situations where there's just too much dynamic range because I like to lift the shadows in the RAW image but at a certain point it becomes too HDR like and not true to life.
there isn't any such thing as bad light, it's just different light, but my preferred light is cloudy days, rain, snow and night time. Light that creates drama and texture.
Love how you talk about geometry and light. All good photographs have textures, layers, lines, geometry, motion, etc. Hate when podcasters just talk about technicals. Just subscribed.
Much appreciated. That means a lot. What have you been interested in shooting these days? As well, any good photo books reccos? (current or past)🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
All about that ETTR with digital. My approach to street has always been, our eyes are naturally drawn to the lightest part of the image therefore it becomes the most important, shadows add depth to the image. I like to find scenes with good or interesting light then let people fill in that scene and try and create layers. I feel I am rarely successful, but it doesn't deter me from continuing on. Great breakdown and examples. Been a fan of your work for some time now. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thanks for watching, J.D. That's a different approach, finding the light and then letting ppl find the scene. I'm sure you have built up patience 👌🏽. ETTR makes it all easier to process . I use the Ricoh GR II (compact is the only way for me to shoot street). Less gear gives me more energy to search and wait for light. 👍🏼 thanks for the kind words.
the camera is a brush in your hands and you create a picture with your own mind and skills.. my dear friend, so if even you had a brush 'vangog, then you would not be able to resavat like him! so there are as many creatures as possible 😊
My friends! What is your favourite light to shoot in? Or does it even matter?

@@tahaphoto my pleasure!
Have been out shooting as of late? Film? Digital?
@@tahaphoto Digital! 😏 check it out!
Does the GR II have the same Highlight Metering mode as the GR III?
Unfortunately not.... from what I've researched, that's a game charger for so many! It'll be fun to upgrade eventually. My day will come!😆📷
@@tahaphoto And one day I'll get my hands on a GRII
