KidCudi1923 they sound really horrible but the idea behind Meinl Hcs is to offer low-buged cymbals for beginners. They are not made do sound, they are made to work. And that's what they do
Sabians... You can tell dude on the left was feeling that 19” crash because it is perfectly crafted and balanced. But obviously these are not cheap. By any means lol. But listen to the dynamics of dark cymbals. Beautiful tonal and freq range.
The HCS crashes were like dustbin lids, the chinas are usable, the ride and hats are weak, the MCS are a step up but not best for the money, its pst7 for me.
Just hit those cymbals for the love of god, specialy the guy on the left, i did not hear the sound of that Zultan hi hats at all, he was trying to play jazz the whole time
What men often forgets is that recording equipment and processing (specially Mics) also ads up to the sound, so I think it would be more than fitting if you included them somewhere in or under the video, that would make comparing with other videos easier.
Do millenium still series ride and Hi hat, feel like real cymbals when you play them? Or is it better to stick to Zildjian l80? The feel is very important to me
those Meinls have about 40% tin in the alloy...at least they price them accordingly. but get a real cheap cymbal like Zildjian Planet Z, it those HCS's weren't mic'd you'd barely hear them.
I honestly don't think brass cymbals sound bad. Entry level cymbals from the popular brands aren't bad cymbals, just different. I use a 16" Sabian Solar crash in my studio quite often. It cuts like a knife in a mix (rock/punk/metal). It all comes down to personal taste. I bet you'd never know if I recorded a record using brass cymbals unless I told you.
I learned two things... well three -- 1. Freaking Sonor drums are sex in my ears. 2. Cymbals I've never heard of (Zultan) sound pretty sweet. 3. Meinl sound kind of crappy.

The Legacy cymbals are amazing. But honestly, Moritz, on the Gretsch set, needs to play more cymbals and less drums. This is a cymbal comparison video and i really don't care for his showing off his abilities. Play the CYMBALS. Martin does a great job.
I can't believe that Top Selling cymbals are those low volume doo-dads...the drums are still booming...the neighbors are gonna hear that bass drum before the loudest, trashiest China...
Honestly, the Zildjian zxt and Sabian B8s are all pretty much in the same class. Glassy, little character, piercing . GIven the choice of those three, I might opt for the HCS actually, though some Sabian B8 can sound "okay"
Well, what do you expect from brass or B8 cymbal? If you want decent souding cymbals you should buy B20, B12, B10 cymbals, or, at least, good quality B8 cymbals like Paiste PST8. Meinl Mb8's and Paiste PST5's are also quite O.K.
Buutch37 to be fair, to much toying around with things he cant play, hes jazz is not really usable, but it all come down to practice to fet somethinf usable
75ShadowShooter Yeah, no. People who play heavy heavy music such as djent, need some type of cymbal to allow practice at places where other cymbals make too much noise. Playing songs like Zyglrox need power. These cymbals are basically practice cymbals. They are perfect for practice kits. I only use the sticks that are comfortable for me to use. I wouldnt give comfort up for less noise. As for the controlling noise point, i would agree that a lot of drummers have problems controlling themselves behind the kit. But that does not necessarily mean that all drummers do. And for those of us who can behave behind the kit should still be able to play even if we have neighbours or kids running around the house.
Has nothing to do with heavy drumming, they're just practice cymbals. Any type of drummer who can't practice at full volume can utilize these, a jazz ride/crash is still going to be too loud in an apartment 99% of the time.
Why? They're not meant for live or studio use, they're just quiet cymbals for practicing. I've used the L80s and have a set of Millenium Still cymbals on my practice kit and both are great. Way better than putting mute pads or tape on cymbals.
HCS LOL
Wuhan>>>>>
Haha, almost like playing on trash cans! But at least they are better than Camber Canada haha!
They sound like the shitty cymbals you get in a bog standard e-drum set.
@Josh Steffen I love your channel
Hcs cymbals made out of recycled aluminum beer cans
man those zultans especially the ride sound amazing
that was a nice ride.
Zilli Cymbals are wayyy better
As they both struggle not to laugh at how bad those Meinl HCS cymbals sound hahaha
KidCudi1923 they sound really horrible but the idea behind Meinl Hcs is to offer low-buged cymbals for beginners. They are not made do sound, they are made to work. And that's what they do
Luminol for the same price, you have the zultan aja series which actually sounds good
lol I scrolled down to see comments right when that happened and of course it didnt take me long to find your comment lol
i actually dont mind the hats tho.
pie tins...lol.
I love seing you trying to play jazz
And trying to speak English
This is how all demo videos should be done. Great demo of product and not distracting egos in the way. Great job and thanks guys ..!
Excellent demo fellas- thank you! The side by side comparisons are wonderful!
i don’t get all the criticism, these are two very clean drummers with simple, yet powerful beats; such good styles for a demo video
Exactly! A band will hire these guys over a wannabe Neil Peart anyday
The Zultan Heritage series sound pretty good.
Brian check out Zilli Cymbals, hand crafted in Instanbul.
Paiste Pst3 good beginner cymbals i used the 18” crash ride just for replacing me broken cymbal and i love it
that Gretsch kit sounds superb...very nice indeed. the crack on that snare is insane !
Sabians... You can tell dude on the left was feeling that 19” crash because it is perfectly crafted and balanced. But obviously these are not cheap. By any means lol. But listen to the dynamics of dark cymbals. Beautiful tonal and freq range.
FanaticalDrummer Zilli Cymbals in Instabul do all the hand hammering of hhx
The HCS crashes were like dustbin lids, the chinas are usable, the ride and hats are weak, the MCS are a step up but not best for the money, its pst7 for me.
Just hit those cymbals for the love of god, specialy the guy on the left, i did not hear the sound of that Zultan hi hats at all, he was trying to play jazz the whole time
wow that sonor sounds kick ass !
I think Paiste makes some of the best sounding budget cymbals.
One of these drummers is definitely demonstrating the instruments a lot better
What men often forgets is that recording equipment and processing (specially Mics) also ads up to the sound, so I think it would be more than fitting if you included them somewhere in or under the video, that would make comparing with other videos easier.
That is a great point and I think it is worth doing. Thanks Dario.

Those Zultans have some nice tone & spread....
Just got my l80 silent stroke set put together
The Paiste PST3 is a very good beginner cymbal set for the money.
Do millenium still series ride and Hi hat, feel like real cymbals when you play them? Or is it better to stick to Zildjian l80? The feel is very important to me
Hans & Franz of the drum universe.
10:30 the ”pet” technique
Love my LV80s. The guy on the right looks like Wojciech Szczęsny's twin brother.
These are perfect for lives big show's and the studio and I would use them as real zilljan cymbals with over head mic's without the electronics
those Meinls have about 40% tin in the alloy...at least they price them accordingly. but get a real cheap cymbal like Zildjian Planet Z, it those HCS's weren't mic'd you'd barely hear them.
What is the point of these cymbals?
To play them...
To make money selling brass plates to beginners.
Which do sound best in your opinion guys? Looking for new cymbals
SeRraL Pst7 if you can't afford them the zultans are good value.
Zultans sound brilliant
Good drumming
Warning watch for flying drumsticks😂😂😂😂😂

welche bassdrumfelle habt ihr da? klingen top
Die Becken sind ja mal richtig geil 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 sowas hab ich ja noch nicjt gesehen (die ersten im Video)
I learned two things... well three -- 1. Freaking Sonor drums are sex in my ears. 2. Cymbals I've never heard of (Zultan) sound pretty sweet. 3. Meinl sound kind of crappy.
Meinl are definitely crap for their budget drums (hcs and kind of mcs) but their higher price cymbals sound so good
What size is the Zultan Ride?
Hi does anyone know a good upgrade from the paiste pst 5s that are not too expensive so less than 650
Are these Heritage cymbals from the standard or the grand set?
Hi Daniele, it's the standard set, you can always check the link in the description to find out what gear is used :) //Philipp
Please make a mic. review
Great english
Grestch drum on a jazz player whaaaaaa?
Used remo silence stroke
In the first part you can see in his faces: what a shit of cymbals! haha!
Neither the Sabian, nor the Zultan are "top sellers"
Paiste Rude cymbals are made to rock like fuck!
Y'all are complaining about the hcs cymbals but I bought a cymbal pack for 119. Find that with better cymbals I dare you.
the 16 and 18 inch squash cymbals xD
Zultan Cymbals. " More washy more blabla" aber leider keine Info über die Becken wie groß, welche Legierung.
Schade
und du könntest natürlich ein profivideo machen ^^

What snare is he using on the Gretch?
The snare is the original snare of the Gretsch Catalina Kit: www.thomann.de/gb/gretsch_catalina_club_studio_crimson.htm
just one phrase: dbA is not db
Sadly there's not enough sizes
James Franklin zilli cymbals hand crafted in Instanbul make any custom size, with custom exact weights.

Martin does a great job.
i thought the low frequency cymbals where for practice.
and they are! no use, except for that. :)
Yes, just wanted to show the volume difference to a regular kit and a kit with muted snare as well so you can get an impression :) //Philipp
Can use them in stacks to
+Thomann Music - What SIZE are the Zultan Heritage Ride & Crash cymbals??? Can you post a direct Link to each Sultan cymbal used in this video? Danke
Congrats meinl! It's official, your HCS ( is it a kind of disease?) Cymbals are the worst cymbals of all time!
it's ok but not for extreme metal players
Who plays the bell on a crash lmao just hit the cymbal
I can't believe that Top Selling cymbals are those low volume doo-dads...the drums are still booming...the neighbors are gonna hear that bass drum before the loudest, trashiest China...
Low volume shouldnt count they are for practice lol
They seem to be trying to outdo each other after a pre-video bet the loser buys the beer and Wienerschnitzel
Meinl hsc shittest cymbals i ever bought

Good drummer on the Sonor kit, amateur hour on the Gretsch
alan duncan he s jazz player dude
Looks forced no natural rhythm
moritz cant really play
Buutch37 to be fair, to much toying around with things he cant play, hes jazz is not really usable, but it all come down to practice to fet somethinf usable
poor video
poor guy.
really... "hi, guys, in front of the compooter".. how fuckin lame...
I think it is a great video ...!
Feel free to show us all how you would do better.
Low frequency? Sound horrible! Just use light sticks and learn control your volume people.
LOL that's not their purpose, they're meant for not pissing off your neighbors.

Grant F ok I can see the utility. Good for practice. Personally I'd prefer an electronic drum set so I can hear nicer cymbal sounds in the headphones.
This is just the cymbal companies scraping the bottom of the barrel. There are idiots who buy that sort of shit.
getting actual drummers might be nice next time
Pablo Jose Ordas please explain how they aren't actual drummers
Hey Pablo you should apply for their job since they're such terrible drummers and you're a superior player. Give me a break.
@@sackyboy03 Some people enjoy doing one thing on the internet.....trolling.
these highly perforated cymbals are probably the biggest bs in drumming music history ever made... XD
archi baldikowski well if they actually work then why are they bs? I'm digging the idea and I think they're one of the greatest drum innovations yet.
