If you have the real thing, then it's not necessary to have the airsoft version. Liku would have most likely dry fired with the real thing if he had access to firearms in Japan. You lose out on the real world weight, red dot indexing, and subtle intricacies that aren't perfectly replicated on the airsoft version. Personally, I reserve dry fire for gun manipulation drills and transitions. Trigger press is done in live fire because, in my experience, one's trigger control is different when actually shooting real rounds.

I have airsoft replicas of a couple guns and totally agree with your reasoning. Keep up the good work, I’m subbed! Looking forward to the future…

Excellent video! Nice job! I too have a 2020 VP9. It's the best hand gun I own. :-)

I would not spend $150 on an airsoft replica just to practice dry firing. That's money better spent on something else. You absolutely won't harm a polymer gun by dry firing it - could cause unnecessary wear and tear on a 1911. Not sure if I saw the same Trex video, but in the one I saw, he was talking about the value of participating in airsoft events in general (team dynamics, shooting under fire, cqb, etc.).

Good point. I failed to mention I have others in my house so airguns are inherently more peace of mind . It definitely may not be for everyone especially at a high price point .
