Love H&K and the VP series. A few things though…You aren’t going to “wear out” the pistol by taking it to the range and shooting a couple hundred rounds every month. There are VP’s with tens of thousands of rounds through them. Just take it and shoot the damn thing. It’s a tool not a safe queen. You need to be training with it and not be afraid that you’re going to wear the parts out lol. Especially if you’re claiming to use it for defense. It’s not some super rare piece that is all hand engraved. It’s a mass produced pistol. Stop treating it otherwise.
Totally agree. I genuinely didn’t know this at the time. Sucks because I don’t like providing misinformation or anything it I don’t want that to stop me from making video scared that I’ll mess up. I’ll just have to learn and do better tho lol
Agreed. I have 2 VP9s, one of which being the VP9L. The VP9L is my primary home defense handgun, and I put about 500-600 rounds through it every month (along with several others). Never had an issue. These things are meant to last decades, and tens of thousands of rounds.
@@chrisbroome9937 I was thinking about converting mine with the long slide kit and making it my dedicated home defense gun. You think it's worth it though? It's not cheap. Looks badass though
@@Bthast62 definitely worth it. I had planned on milling my original slide and running a comp. Once I bought a long slide and compared the two, I haven't touched the original and have been looking for someone to buy it
I have an HK VP40 and it's awesome, love the quality that HK does and in my opinion it's one of the best guns compared to other brands. Great video bro my upgrades are almost the same as yours.
I got super lucky by looking into HK early into my search for my first gun. You are right in my opinion every time I tryed another gun I couldn’t like it the same way I like hk . The bar is set so high haha Thanks for that!
I have been trying out like 15 different 9 mm hand guns to decide what is going to be my first hand gun. My uncle has the Vp9 and the sk one. After shooting them I am sold and the Vp9 sk will be my first hang gun purchase and I will also eventually buy the Vp9. I love this gun and the way it feels and the trigger and just the way it feels in my hand.
Love my VP9 upgraded the barrel the springs and sights. Definitely buy extra safety clamps for mine have broken multiple times. I wish they would make it out of spring steel and not plastic.
You need to get some jhp bullets for selfdefense. You're a new shooter and I was glad to see that you had your finger off the trigger. Lots of people make that mistake.
Unfortunately H&K doesn't have the plates for a Trijicon red dot, I called them. I sent my upper out to get the plate custom made and install my red dot. Cant wait to get it back. Great gun!!
Unfortunately yes a lot of people are running into that problem. I think I barley missed the wave of supplies running out. Super happy you get to make the upgrades that’s awesome!
Definitely looks nice but so not maxed upgraded. If you want to make it ultra reliable do the following: Replace the silly polymer guide rod with a 20lb steel one. Galloway Precision makes a nice one. Then at HK parts, buy a metal sleeve for the firing pin. The plastic one is dumb to have in there. Then get a solid backplate for the slide. You will lose that ridiculous cocked indicator BUT less chance for debris or water to get in. If you of course ever had to really use it for self defense. Lastly grab from Flitz Polishing compound and a polishing bit and a Dremel. Polish the crap out of your feed ramp, til it looks like a mirror. Boooom, now you got something you will feel 100% CONFIDENT IN. I would ditch the magwell. The grip has cut outs at the bottom so if you get a critical malfunction you can strip out the mag. That magwell is covering that up. No bueno!
For sure! My first gun so I just accepted it but I think next I might try the glock for the availability of parts and such. I can make an exception for the vp9 haha
I’m good with iron sites. Given that HK already provides decent sites out of the box. In my opinion red dots are good for older guys with bad eyes, and I think it’s kind of cheating lol jk. Vp9 is a great gun. Compared to my Glock 19. It has a better trigger, better ergos, better sites out the box.
That’s fair lol I do like it the way it is I’m not sure what could still be added or if I would want to change it in the near future. Just got an AR so I’m focusing on upgrading that now

You won’t regret getting the vp9 That’s for sure. It was over my budget but I’m so happy I bought it over anything else. Did you end up getting one?
@@natry9353 yes sir I got the Vp9sk and love it. It was over my budget also but I am glad I bought it.
That VP9 is drippin' sauce!!
Thanks brother!!

Really on the HK parts website I see a stainless steel plate #2 that fits for the Trijicon rmr.
I have a Trijicon on mine
You're very wrong. Trijicon and holoson use the same plates genius
So what was the upgrades??
What’s the magwell?
do u remember where u bought the sight from?
Amazon is where I got it! It’s one of the holosun models i can’t check which one at the moment

sweet gun bro. i have a very similar build on my glock 17
I can imagine how that’s looks. Sounds really nice!
The smaller the red-dot the more accurate and tighter grouping you will have :)
Small dot for longer distances, Large dot for up close and personnel....
How’d ya get the mat?
The mat I order from Amazon! Less than $15 I believe
They have some on the HK website! HK Store
if you dont use the flashlight, may as well slap that rail comp on...
I’ve considered changing it up for sure but I do like my light
VP9 or cz p 10 c ( and f)
Like the mags. No threaded barrel? Long barrel? Compensator?
I’m slowly finding out any pistol can be turned into a tank 😂🤣 I have to look into those options lol
@@natry9353 The VP9 is great out of the gate, but a compensator will make it look even more wicked. I have a pair of them myself.
4:03: Because you have a red dot you don't have to worry about your grip? What in the hell.....dude.....
I have 4 20rd mags for sale. New from HK.
Prize for high magazine?
$50 and yeah it’s a vp9 normal sized.
Full size pistol?
Yes it is full size although I am looking into the vp9sk
what magwell did you put on it?
Them magazines are expensive. My only gripe with hk mags
For sure! My first gun so I just accepted it but I think next I might try the glock for the availability of parts and such. I can make an exception for the vp9 haha
H&K VP9 is the best striker fired weapon you can own.
MAXED OUT
OLIGHTS.....
Buy more magazines. You don't want to use your practice mags for defense. Also get some spare springs for when they wear out.
I didn’t even think of this. I’ve had it for over a year so I should look into the springs if they’ve changed at all. Thanks!
They won't wear out. Jesus
@natry9353 it's been 3 years, have your springs worn out?
Is that an O-Light?
Umm... ok.
