Man, I just luv the way the VP9SK looks.
I bought this exact gun/optic combo for my wife this past Christmas. It is a fantastic shooter! My wife handles it very well. She shoots left handed and I am right handed. We can both shoot it just fine. The ambidextrous paddle mag release is very easy for both of us to use. I purchased a “We The People” polymer holster for it. That holster fits this gun and optic perfectly. The optic was a game changer for my 55 year old eyes! I love it. This is a great pistol/optic combination. Great review!
I wish HK would offer the P30 series with an optic cut. I know there are a number of places I can send a slide to that offer the service, but I just like the idea of the OEM cut.
Believe it or not, milling your slide specifically for an optic is the better fit. Factory optic cuts are loose and the plates aren’t optimal.
I’m looking at buying this exact gun. I have a Glock43x now but, as soon as I picked this up in my local gun store I fell in love. The grip on the HK’s in general is awesome. Thanks for the review.
I have a vp9 full size and absolutely love it!!! Looking to get my woman a different carry option and I think with the help of this review I may jist get this for her. Good stuff and thank you
Good job on the video it makes me interested in checking one out
Thanks for the review. I have an HK 45 and I'm thinking of purchasing this VP9SK for daily carry gun.
Great review. Just picked this model, minus the optic. Shoots really well and quality is top notch. I do have the SCS on a Glock and agree it is a superior choice.
So happy this just got added to the roster in California this week.
There goes my tax return money
Great gun and recoil is very good. It's a no brainer to purchase with red dot already installed. A better deal than buying separately. I'm a sig Sauer Guy but have this in my rotation Now.
Love my p30 LEM and looking for its smaller summer weight counterpart. I just love the reset kit from Bruce Gray on my P30, which is hard to beat. HK just doesn't offer the P30 in a OR configuration.
They upped the capacity of the mags for these pistols so you get 12, 15 and 17rd options now. I own both the P30SK and the VP9SK but I prefer the former. I really like HK's hammer fired pistols, especially the LEM trigger variants. The achilles heel of the VP9SK is the weak recoil spring which with the slightest push of the slide, forces the gun out of battery. This isn't an issue with the P30SK or even the full size VP9.
They have an awesome little standoff device for the vp9sk on the HK Parts store that protects that from happening. It's pretty vicious looking but may be impractical to some with the added weight and size to the vp9sk rig.....I think it gives a tactical advantage in the scenario of an altercation that takes place up close or in some type of scuffle.
Sub compacts are fun for range time. Even with micro class being as popular as they've become, i find myself leaning more towards Macro class for this very reason. Even my Mete MC9, my smallest 9mm is more robust than other micros while maintaining the micro class title. The slightly bigger size of a subcompact is just more confidence building but the slim width of a micro is sexy for carry. The niche between both worlds is ideal. Its why my p365 x Macro comp is perfect. size comparison is close to glock 19 but thin like the regular p365 x... If you find yourself leaning in the same direction... The p365 x Macro comp or TACOPS variant, hellcat pro, and glock 43xMOS will be your best bet availability wise.
Really nice review. I’m a big fan on quality and HK is really up there with Beretta, Sig and Walther. I really like the magazine release on the triggergard.
HK is far above the quality of modern US made Sigs and Berettas. Honestly not even comparable.
Walther is pretty solid, but having had several PDPs my VP9 feels higher quality.
@@readyup1809 I respect your opinion on quality. I will say the Berettas made in Italy are much better quality on fit and finish. Berettas shotguns are beautiful. I have a DT11 and it’s just a Renaissance masterpiece.
Sig their legion series is really good.
@maddog8148 check out "Small Arms Solutions" review of the VP9 ... buckle your seat belt
I own Walthers, Sigs, and H&K pistols. As far as reliability and durability, my H&K pistols are far better in both categories.
HK is way better than Sig and beretta
H&k is supposed to come out with sfp9cc micro this year . I don't know if I can wait lol
Where have you heard it was going to come out this year? I haven't heard anything about it since that TFB video and they didn't mention a release date nor even confirm it was going to be for civilian sales NOR if it was going to be for civilian sales in the US (though i would be surprised if it wasnt)
I’ve heard civilian sales won’t be till 2025
Yes I’m waiting on that as well🙌
I heard it will be released 4th quarter of 2024.
@@Lexicologist1971 saving my money starting today.
Nice pistol
Wonder if this would fit in my hidden hybrid holster for a p2000
Is the vp9 and vp9sk the same size all around I know it’s longer and taller but but like would the sk fit inside a vp9 holster
Does this require optics ready slide? I know the SCS does not require a plate, but unclear how it is attached.
What model versacarry holster is that
Which do you preder the VP9sk or the USP 9 c?
Why?
✌️🇺🇸
Whatever happened to the one that was supposed to come out similar to shield.
I wish it was more selection of hammered fired pistols on the market. I too prefer DA/SA and have the P30, P01, and P07. Whats some other good options?
The P2000 and P2000SK are awesome options. Mine are both DA/SA 357 Sig guns.
@@Lexicologist1971 where on earth did you find them lol.
@tombraider7692 both guns came from Gunbroker. The P2000 came as a 40 with the barrel. The SK came as a 40 and I got the 357 barrel afterwards.
Do you think it's better than a Sig P365 ? Also, I've read that you can't get a vp9sk optic ready ?
It comes optic ready. Just bought one yesterday
Id like to know what happened to the HK sfp9cc.
Same!!!
HK takes their time making products and they won’t use the public as test dummies like most manufacturers do. They make sure it’s truly good to go.
They are probably busy breaking it dozens of ways so they don't break on the users, like a Sig.
Look for a US release in the second quarter 2025. I believe it will be May. If you want one next year, you won't be able to sit around and wait for reviews, as they will quickly go into back order.
I can’t find anywhere online that sells a stock recoil spring for my vp9sk… if anyone has any leads it’ll be greatly appreciated.
Midwest GunWorks has them
The subcompact is a dying segment. Micro-compacts have all but eliminated the need for a subcompact pistol with their incredible size to capacity ratio. For me it’s full-size to micro-compact in pistols.
U never show the right side of the gun. Why not?Is it bad luck?🤔
Don't you think it's a little late to introduce vp9sk now in 2024......? It's really thick, heavy, and most likely to be cast away by many larger frame micro#9s.....
I believe it was first introduced in 2014. The addition of the Holosun SCS optic is what’s new.
No b/c some people want a gun this size…it’s very concealable, handles 9mm better than the micro 9mms, and others carry much larger guns
@@RepentorPerish77yup - had been collecting dust in the safe for a few years while I carried a G19 coincidentally threw it back in the rotation a few weeks ago - forgot how much I like it
@@Steve_Schiffenhaus my main edc is the VP9sk SCS but if I need a smaller footprint I’ll grab my 43X MOS
My friend go test one out at your local range you’ll fall in love lol
