I've been doing the same thing for my carpet cleaning business. I take pictures of my work and make a casual/ educational post. I don't make the posts seem like a cheap/ lame ad. I just try to keep it real.
I have had pretty good luck with ND picture posts of my work(from my business page). Just keep it up and not let it go stagnant. I have not done videos yet, but I try it out. Thanks
I have no experience with growing a software business, but I would imagine you would want to be on a different platform. Nextdoor is very local, and mainly for in person service businesses
This is something I am stuck on for sure. I am doing all this from my personal account, and people click on my name and see my other posts about my business. I really would like to do this from a business account, but I seem to not be able to comment. There is a difference in controls from a business account to a personal account. Let me know if you figure anything out about this.
Hey jamison , really nice video! I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail which will help your video to reach to a wider audience .
Great video. So Jamison, are you saying you named your personal nextdoor profile "Sun Burst Window Cleaning?", or when you comment on people's posts does it still say "Jamison Weise"?
I have both, a personal account “Jamison Weise”, and a business account “Sunburst Window Washing”. I find that in my local community people know my name more than my business name, so I prefer to comment with my personal account. Optimally you should put effort into both accounts, but post and comment on the account that you want to grow the most. I get plenty of business through posting on my personal account. It’s very subjective and you have to do what works for you.
It depends if you want to grow your name, or your business name. You move faster when promoting one name, instead of your name and your business name. Customers can only remember so much
I do not pay Nextdoor anything.. I wish they would let me haha. Nextdoor Ads are a mess, and barely give the amount of impressions that I pay for. I recommend posting organically (for free) about your product/service to get the best results
This is a standard account. Customers know my name more than my business name. Ideally, you would want to build a brand that grows without you. In the beginning, it’s easier to grow ONE name instead of getting people to know your name and your business name.
Nextdoor ads definitely suck. I would've guessed that the developers of a site would make it easy to run ads, because this seems to be their main source of revenue. I haven't gotten them to work. However, because nobody can run ads, organic traffic is UNBELIEVEBLY underpriced right now. This is why I made this video

This is the way! Customers aren’t stupid, and you can’t trick them with some flashy sales ad. Being a real human is the best marketing
SOFT CLEAN VALUABLE ADVICE 👍
Thank you! I hope it is useful
Great job! I thought that was really great advice. Very actionable.
Appreciate the support! Let me know if there's anything I can improve
This is a great video, well done! I just realized I have a whole bunch of 15 second videos that I can use for this. Thank you!
Thank you, that was really valuable video for me
Glad to hear this was helpful!
Love this! Thanks for this.
I hope you found it useful!

Videos work great in my experience. There are very few videos on Nextdoor, so they tend to stick out. Thanks for the comment!
Great advice!
Glad you found this helpful!
Great advice.. thanks
Thank you
that's good advise bro
Thank you sir!
Nice video, thanks! A little tip: try placing the camera at eye level or slightly above.
Will do. Thank you
thanks
🙏
This wouldn’t be right for software then, would it? I create software, apps, games and websites. Awesome video btw.
Try it . People love video games

@ Yeah, kind of figured that. Just thought I’d ask. 🤷🏾♂️ Thanks.
Awesome tips. When you say commenting on other people’s posts or posting something people like can you do all this from the business account?
Yes

Are you on mobile or desktop Nextdoor. I can't figure out how to comment from a business account

One thing I would also recommend, show your face! People are more inclined to support someone if they see your face and that you’re a real person.
I definitely will! Thanks for the feedback
Is it better to post on a personal profile or a business page?
It depends if you want to grow your name, or your business name. You move faster when promoting one name, instead of your name and your business name. Customers can only remember so much
Are you making these posts from your business page or personal page on Nextdoor
From a personal account. I have a business account as well, but it is only really used so that people can mark it as their favorite
VERY hard to hear. You have great info to share, please sepak up!
Thank you for the feedback. I will work on it
El you pay to use it? If so how much

@@Jamisonweiseso you don’t use it
is yours a business account or a standard account

Nextdoor sucks! I would not waste your money on this platform. Their stock has gone from $10 in 2021 to $1.83 today.
Did you listen to the video? He didn’t spend any money on ads

Thank you! haha. Organic traffic is so underpriced right now. I'm getting 2-3 customers every time I make a 30 second post
