Hey there Del, just wanted to say thank you for sharing information and showing people how to build these little beauties and CBG's. Just finished building one a couple of days ago with my own spin on it and love it. Just used it in my latest track, jamming along with it was a hell of a lot of fun. Cheers Man!!! 👍👍👍
Dave Messer I laughed when I saw his masterful selection of hole saw. And then I realized - I must have a complete orchestra in my wood work shop!! OMG 😱
For a second there I thought you were playing Spoonful. Good one to show how you don't have to get fancy to have a nice instrument. Thanks for sharing!
Very nice! I have a couple of thick dowels out in the garage that used be curtain rods. I can now see them being cut down to become a family of diddley bros!
I love diddley bows. They have anti gravity powers - I can’t put mine down! I like using zither pins instead of tuners for these simple instruments. I’ve also tried using just a slotted screw for the “bridge” and “nut”. Just screw them into the stick. Very simple, cheap and they work fine.
Hi Del. I teach AP US history at a High School in rural northeast Ohio. I won a $500 grant this year to teach a unit on poverty, oppression and blues in the Mississippi delta after spending an incredible week at a workshop there last summer. I have some gorgeous cigar boxes and this week over spring break I will be cutting up dowel rods and holes in the cigar boxes plus ordering parts online so the kids can assemble the diddly bows. In order to be as efficient as possible with the funds, I still need to order all the other bits and pieces. Other than hardware store parts, can you tell me what I need to order from CB Gritty and email the links? I plan on building 12 diddly bows over this next week so all the kids have to do is assemble them (basically string and tune them). I want them to be electric too. I will be using one of your videos (the one with the sharpie and the cute snoozing dogs) to show them how to play. Thanks.
dang that’s awesome!!! good on ya. pretty much all you’ll need are tuners, piezos, hookup wire, soldering iron, hot glue gun, screws, nails, jacks, volume potentiometers (if you want volume control)… and knobs. glue, sandpaper, stain and paint are nice as well. 😎👍🏽
A couple of weeks ago I made my first instrument p, a Dudley bow, I used my great grandmothers silverware box (my mom insisted, she only cared about the silverware)
I watched you build a multitude of different guitars, but I haven't seen you build a pet dish resonator guitar yet! I'm just starting one, I got the dish from ebay for $1.99. I'd love to see you build one in the near future! Keep them guitars and videos coming Brother!
Hey is there any chance you're going to make it to the Huntsville Alabama cigar box guitar festival June 1st. I know it's a long way from the West coast but we'd love to see your work in person here in the south.
That is funny! Yours is cuter, mine is made out of a chewing gum tin, and it's got a scale length of 30 in. It's the only thing I can play right now, but I'm still plugging away at my 3 string with your 12 Bar Blues. :-)

Been awhile but I love me some diddley bo. Good job Del 👍🎼🎸
now i just need to learn how to play it.... it's HARD
Definitely different but I have faith in you amigo
There’s just no way I’m going to come close to “Diddley Bros”. So, I’m not even going to try. Well played, sir. Well played.
So you're telling me i got the one up on ya???
Puckett Cigar Box Guitar Indeed.
Also, I like your tonal method of selecting a hole saw. That’s Master Class stuff, right there. 👍🏻
Dave Messer

1:32 That's a lovely sound!
Thanks Dale. This will be my first build. Starting the journey this year. You're my CBG Obi wan.
Super diddley dooo Del. I love making those...made one for my son last year ...Simple...yet Superb
Dude! You crack me up, man.... okay, off to do me a diddley...
Thanks for the video, finally got rid of this old cigar box. Now I store my cigars in my Yamaha.
After i heard "diddley bros", i threw out my computer.

That's a good idea for those boxes that are too small for a 3 string cbg.👍😎🎸🎶
Excellent!!! I love it man
Thank you

Is there a purpose to business card or just to protect the pickup? Great video and has inspired me to start building again. Thanks brother.

Michael Williams post a video??
Sure, I haven’t uploaded in a while, just for you man I will, I’ll leave you a link when I get it uploaded
I’m not a hundred percent that this link will work, but I made a video

You should experiment, putting your sound holes down by the bridge. Seemed to work well for Antonio Stradivari. :)

Great video. Thanks 👍
Thanks Del. I'm gettin me a drill stand. Erm, maybe it's time for one in your shop too. Have you made a double neck yet? Keep them coming
Just made a diddley bow out of the same box
A double neck diddley bo!
Just wondering if you could use a ammo can instead of a cigar box
Your the best!!!!! Encore!
Thank you Stormy...today started off with a migraine headache... ended up building a Diddley Bow... not a bad ending...
New and and loving the content 😃😃😃
Thanks Big Keg
Del is ur mantra going to change to ‘5 strings to many’, say it isn’t so.....great stuff, bro.....
Great job man, love that box though, what brand is it?
I was entertained
What's the price to have you build one?
Depends on the bells and whistles
Diddly Bros hahahaha amazing
What Wire are you using?
What does the business card do?
You know someone is going to start a CBG blues band called The Diddley Bros now don't you? LOL
Diddly bros!

I sure don't sound like your's, Del.. think I have mine set at B#
this one's tuned to B# also... what a coincidence??
great minds think alike

This obviously is close to the African originals.
Diddley bows are pure fun! Where did that thumbs down come from???
I have a troll
