UPDATE! Stay tuned, the hall effect joystick version will be with me soon... UPDATE: Here's the hall effect version, slightly different, called the Chitu HD: ruclips.net/video/h0yFRhdepeg/видео.html
Important question, I am about to buy the controller, i'd prefer the black colour but it says the other versions that are not HD Purple do not have: "high and low rocker assembly", do you know what that means? im confused If there's a difference i'll go ahead and buy the purple one, just want some clarification between the different versions! Most on youtube tend to be the purple version, i'll link an image showing the differences that i found just incase its true
Regular rumble IS NOT just one intensity. There have been different rumble speeds and intensity since N64. HD rumble takes it a step further and can mimic sounds like music tones and water dripping.
You're definitely right, that's my miscommunication. This controller has HD and Linear, what they mean by linear in this case is just a set rumble speed.
I kinda wish these worked for Playstation too. Because it would then become my all in 1 controller and my friends can use my other controllers that i have
When the Rumble Pak released, there was no turning back. Nintendo pioneered the rumble (N64), staggered sticks layout (Gamecube), motion controls (Wii), 3D (Virtual Boy/3DS), D-pad (Game & Watch/Famicon), shoulder buttons (SNES), and a trigger (N64).
And everything else motion gyro mouse pointer shoulder buttons triggers dpads everything set in stone as a controller standard is Nintendo this is why the hands apart Wii remote chuck 3d motion and fos mouse should all also be INDUSTRY STANDARD
I´m still butthurt from the previous Mobapad I bought, less than a year and the battery died... they´ll have to incorporate hall effect joysticks for me to give them a second chance. other than that experience, these guys do pretty nice controllers.
Aw what that sucks :( my old Mobapad controller is still going strong without any issue currently! I will chase them regarding the hall effect version!
6:10 Nope, that's not the cause of drift. Drifting occurs from the inner workings of the joystick, where stuff grinds against graphite and wears it off.
That's exactly what I'm saying :) any plastic/paint/dirt/detritis/whatever can get inside and cause drift. They've placed metal rings around to try and stop the joystick gates from being ground away causing the dust falling into the joystick module and eventually leading to drift. Whether it works or not is another question but they have released a hall effect version now that I'll check out soon.
@@128KB No no, that wearing off (ultimately causing drift) is perfectly normal for a regular analog mechanism, it doesn`t involve any dirt or anything getting inside. Analog stick is based on two potentiometers which are mechanical and just wears off with time, which changes their values, and so the stick "drifts". If your theory about the dirt and whatnot was true, hall effect sticks would be prone to drift too, since they are practically identical - the only difference being the potentiometers based on magnets, not graphite. btw. Those bearings around sticks are just for the "smoother" play, it`s very common.
Can you double check the triggers being analog? I'm pretty certain no wireless controllers with analog triggers work with the Switch. I read somewhere that the only way analog triggers work is through the Gamecube adapter. I bought the Binbok Evo you said had the analog triggers, and I can't feather the gas in Grid (at all).
Yeah, when working on a Switch, the analog triggers work as if they were digital. It is a software feature. No game benefits from analog trigger input. But you can use the controllers full analog property on a supported platform.
@128KB Does this have full button swap? Your Chitu HD vid said that didn't and its a newer version. So I assume this doesn't either? But my Mobapad M9 HD (white) does have it I think, and it predates both of these? Maybe Im wrong
Wow, that does seem to be hard to beat. Any controllers that you find superior at this time? One thing I do wish you'd show in your videos is how easy/hard it is to use the turbo/macro functions. I've had to return controllers as I could not get the functions to work. Also, with all the ways to connect, is there any way to connect to other systems, a ps5, xbox, etc? Come to think of it, ARE there any controllers that can do pc/switch/ps5/xbox? Hm. Never thought of that before. Might need to look into that.
Not really, in terms of features! This has almost everything, if they do a hall effect joystick version this will be almost perfect really! I need to chase them about that! Ah I used to show how to use them but I found it dragged the videos out too long and people would stop watching :'( turbo is easy here though, press the turbo bullet buttom + your button of choice, press and hold that button to engage turbo setting 1, press the turbo bullet button + your button again and that enables auto turbo so press the button once and it'll do turbo until you press again. Hold the turbo button 3 seconds to cancel turbo assign. Turbo + left or right on the dpad changes the turbo speed. macro, press and hold the cog button for 3 seconds, press the macro combination you want then press the back paddle you want it assigned to, to cancel it press the cog for 3 seconds then press the back paddle and it will remove the macro. Sadly, Xbox uses their own connection type for some reason, I've never seen 1 controller that can connect to everything!
@@128KB Hm, did not know that about Xbox. So if this does switch/PC and not xbox, does this (or any other?) handle pc/switch/playstation systems? Apologies if this is obvious to others. It just seems a LOT of ways to connect, and trying to understand the advantage of having so many different options.
@@VictoriaDeMinico If you buy a nice PS5 or Xbox controller. There are wireless adapters you can plug into the switch that let you play with PS5 / Xbox. Will not be able to do gyro and such though.
@128KB If you have any contacts with Mobapad, please let em know there is serious interest for a hall effect controller with octagonal gates. Right now, there aren't any good ones on the market and the closest you can get is a modded Pro Controller :/
Hey, awesome review as usual! Did you see they actually made a version that seems to have all the same features but with a Switch Pro controller style, Called "MOBAPAD New CHITU HD Mechanical controller" do you know if they will send you a review unit as well :D?
Is there any point in the extra 4 face buttons, besides the different colours? Because can't you just switch the position of the original buttons from Switch layout to Xbox layout without needing to use the extra ones?
No you can't just switch out the position of the Nintendo layout as they're different sizes to account for the sloping of the controller, you have to use the xbox spares included as they're shaped right for the controller (I thought the same as you until I tried it lol)
😊 what I actually need is Hall effects stick, that triggers button to be digital/analog adjustable and with Playstation D-Pad placement which is on top left not bottom left. The reason why I always prefer to play fighting games with D-Pad and with current Xbox/switch layout its not comfortable to play with D-Pads. Not to mention D-pad on top for side scrolling game is so good compared with analog stick
@@128KB I'm currently using 8bitdo Pro 2. But yeah waiting if there is any company who actually make a controller based on what I've state on this comment. It'll be the perfect one for me at least.
@@FreakyBeaRTV so basically you want vader 3 pro - hall effect everywhere and triggers that can be switched between regular analog and digital click. It`s pretty amazing actually, tho it looks weird...

@@HSGG_ you are correct. I was actually researching the different controllers quite a bit but got confused with some of the marketing. These do at least have the steel ring

the controller's design is screaming for a Metroid colorway.

You can scan Amiibos IN THE BOX through the bottom of the cardboard box! Unsure if this works with all of them.
