If none, then, the possibility of an outsider doing it, after question number 2 has been ruled out is nil. 4) If the possibility of an intruder doing it has been overuled, then, there is no other legitimate suspect other than the husband. I once had a bed mate that had sleep disorder, she talk very loud in her sleep and when she end up having arguments or fight in her dream she start to act it in real and at that moment if there is any object there she start using it to fight. There's something called transient amnesia or blackouts where one does something with full knowledge at the time but can't remember afterwards. But a forensic pathologist should be able to determine if it was a suicide. Suicides have telltale features, one of which is a suicide note, though the absence of one doesn't rule it out. My opinion What if this is an homicides case and he committed it during parasomnias episodes which is a sleep disorder, and when he wake up to see what he has done he decided to play smart. There are cases where people sleepwalk and have sex during it. There's something called transient amnesia or blackouts where one does something with full knowledge at the time but can't remember afterwards.

I was thinking the same thing. But what if the lady did it to herself and went back to sleep. If he truly wanted to harm her, I doubt he would call out for the help of neighbours while she's still alive.

Sometimes we bury our desires so deep they only come out when our conscious minds are suppressed like during sleep walking or when under the influence of drugs like some anaesthetics (there are some very funny videos about the latter on the internet btw).
As for the woman doing it to herself that is a strong possibility too. She could have been quite capable of doing so without waking him up. But a forensic pathologist should be able to determine if it was a suicide. Suicides have telltale features, one of which is a suicide note, though the absence of one doesn't rule it out. But there are other ways of knowing that I can't go into here right now. An experienced pathologist should be able to tell.
Have they thought of the possibility that the man may be on drugs or some kind of spiritual influence?. Often times people with such conditions commit all sorts of atrocities without knowing they did.

Motive never has to proven or even shown in court because in a lot of cases the motive for killing are never found out because motive rarely leaves any physical evidence... So lack of motive should never be an issue for not bringing someone in on murder charges or getting justice for the victim(s) and their families and loved ones... My opinion What if this is an homicides case and he committed it during parasomnias episodes which is a sleep disorder, and when he wake up to see what he has done he decided to play smart. Because he is scared of what is going to happen to him. I think a proper investigation should be done on this. Find out if he has sleep disorder. I use to have a bed mate back then that does unspeakable things in her sleep and when she wakes up she can swear with her life that she didn't.
Another thought what if he did it and hide the weapon and waited for her to bleed out till the point that he knows she can't survive before going to call the nabours. It's just an opinion not a conclusion. He might still be innocent
