I remember asking my Mom, "are they going to save those people? What about the rest of the people? There might be air pockets." @@deepapatricia He didn't follow checklist procedure for inclement weather. It's literally a flick of the switch for 4-8m -- a deicing module that melts the ice off the small poles that stick out of the airplane with holes on the tips so that air enters the tubes, and rates the air-speed of the aircraft. Without this information the plane has no idea how fast it's going and so the plane isn't sure if it's going too fast or too slow and how much energy to give the plane. In this case, failure to de-ice the tubes meant the plane had assumed it may be going too fast and restricted the aircraft from getting the speed to properly take off (70% of takeoff speed in this case) A costly error for something so simple.

man, 10 minutes would be so long to be in water that cold. When I was younger I jumped in after a kid into water that was 4C (39.2F for Americans) one time, and at the time I was a certified lifeguard and a competitive swimmer, had a rescue line and flotation device, and I was only in the water like 30 second...but I'll never forget how tired the shock of that cold and trying to move through that cold made me. "Just" 10 minutes must have felt like an eternity. During most of that time the schools heater was shut off. The pools heater was accidentally flipped off as well. They turned them both back on the morning of our practice, but it takes a long time for a large pool to heat up. People always using hindsight to give advice or some other bs. The pilot was qualified with some errors from time to time. Most people focus on the negative and not the positive. There was a reason that pilot was selected to pilot the aircraft. You listen to one narrator and make your choice as to whether the pilot was good or not based off that. Plus, in another episode, I decided to do more research and as it turns out, they decided to leave out one person from that story. That kid couldve been an important character and they left him out. I was trying my best to not cry about this situation. That great man that was trying to help the survivors are someone I feel are on the same page I am on. I would have done the same thing. I'm so happy that this heroic man tried to help. And thank God for the one's that have survived. I feel such deep sympathy for the families that lost their loved ones.

I’m just lost as to why they’d still fly - seeing how they said the weather “soooooo bad” like that! The narrator made sure to be hell of descriptive about the weather!

All flights should have been canceled due to inclement weather conditions. It’s risky during take off and landing especially during those time. Oh no!! I would have waited.

Pressure from airlines, the airport chief could have closed the airport. East coast has really bad weather so it's not extreme for them. I am from Phoenix and live in San Diego and hate the cold!

From where did you got that Jesus sacrificed himself for others. The only way to go to heaven is by doing good deeds not by believing that Jesus died for your sins...happy days

@@razzaa01 Sorry, but nothing you do will EVER be good enough to get you into heaven. Nothing. That's the whole point of Christ dying on the cross. His sacrifice is enough.
