We are pleased to announce our ‘A Pilot’s Life’ Diesel Gala, featuring the home fleet, represented by Ruston 88 ‘Tipokety’ and North British ‘D2700’ aka WD 405.
We have a jam-packed programme lined up for this special weekend including:
Passenger rides in SECR Dance Hall Brake Van 11902
Demonstration Goods Trains plus shunting demonstrations
Baguley-Drewery ‘Georgie’ and Hudswell Clarke D1171 on static display
    Double headers.
    Plus…A couple of guest locomotives!
Ruston 48DS 294266 owned by Lawrie of the RUclips Channel LMM. This diminutive little Shunter spent its working life on the Burneside Tramway in Cumbria servicing the paper mills owned by James Cropper. When the Tramway closed the locomotive was sold into preservation and ended up at Steam Town Carnforth. When Sir William Mcalpine sold his shares in the venture, the Ruston returned with him to his private railway. Shortly before his passing it was purchased by its current owner, and has just completed long overdue wheelset repairs.
Whilst here at Reepham, this will be the first time ever that the locomotive has hauled public trains.
Entry to this event is completely free, with train tickets available to purchase on the day.
