At least one episode of The Goon Show was done without Spike, as he was too ill to perform. So, Harry and Peter did a show or two as a duo, with Sellers doing all of Spike's voices. He'd occasionally be standing there having a three way conversation with himself. A madman, but a genius too.

He would be doing his own voices and Spike’s ones, too.
Then, when _he_ was off sick, they had to bring in at least _two_ other actors to play his parts.

It reminds me how Britain was so intertwined in the last 500 years of history that their colonial exploits from India to America and beyond made them the most all encompassing cultural force on Earth. Peter took all those characters and their mannerisms into profound comic art. No doubt his radio background made him come from the sound of the voice first.

Like Sir Alec before him Peter Sellers was ridiculously talented. I watched a comedy short with Peter and Spike on YT about the theft of a horn with guest star Dick Emery and it was hilarious. I read something about Harry not wanting to appear over money but they were mid - late 20’s and if true that is very surprising and although only 30 mins it is far superior to the film they made with Michael Bentine. The best segment of that film was Peter Sellers monologue as a US military officer.

I lost any respect for him when I read that he used his son to get back at his ex wife. On his son's 10th birthday he hired a truck to remove all his sons toys and anything he had of personal significance, later writing to him and saying 'I no longer wish to be considered your father'.To do that to your child is taking cruelty to a whole new level. A despicable and nasty person. A talented comic actor maybe, but I think knowing his story more completely gives a better view of him, and what kind of person he was.
