As much as I like Sonic Gems Collection, I do agree that games like Knuckles' Chaotix, Sonic Pocket Adventure, Sonic Eraser, heck even the SEGA Sonic arcade game with Mighty and Ray should have been included.
Adding the PC port of Sonic 3D Blast (to either collection) would also be good too as it's much less well known and it's a good secondary version of 3D Blast.
To make Sonic Gems Collection better is to: 1. Release it on the Nintendo GameCube first in 2004 and that version would include Sonic CD, Sonic The Fighters, Sonic R, Knuckles Chaotix, Sonic Pocket Adventure and Sonic Eraser. 2. Have the collection to also have ports for both PC, PS2 and the original Xbox a year later as Sonic Gems Collection Plus and only have the Game Gear games exclusive to those versions (don't include them on the GameCube since Sonic Adventure DX already have them in that game as unlockables).
Honestly the Gems Collection Port of Sonic Fighters really should have Super Sonic easier to get as his requirements are absolute garbage. These are the changes I have thought of: 1. It's fine if an opponent wins one round, you just have to win the match overall. 2. Super Sonic can be activated in Round 1 of Metal Sonic instead of Round 2.
Honestly they should just ported this game to the og xbox and ps2 instead of just being on GameCube I know the ps2 version was released in pal region's but it would of been a good choice to release it everywhere else.
My dude dissed Fighters and R to just then say Chaotix was the fun one. Jk that's actually a pretty unique take. Would be genuinly interested to see what makes you like Chaotix so much.
I actually recently replayed all of them. I really like all of them because I can see really great potential in all of them. I especially like Sonic R, I personally think nowadays that’s it’s not that bad of a game and i reckon a sequel with all of the gameplay elements fleshed out could be great.

They should put the options to choose between the Japanese or the American Soundtrack on Sonic CD.
