You know that part of being a good parent is doing the best thing for your child so they can be better versions of themselves. You’re doing the right thing for Griffin and for the family
I think you’re doing the right thing for your son and family! Ignore any criticism you get! It’s not just “making your life easier” but improving his quality of life. Prayers for griffin and your entire family!
That little boy has the most beautiful blue eyes.... I just love him! Medications aren't always a bad thing. When it comes to making him feel better, you'll do anything. Don't question yourself. You are wonderful!
Emily, everyone’s an expert when they are not going through it. Don’t worry about what people say, you love your children and won’t do anything to harm them. Thanks for sharing as it will help another family who may be going through it as well. And great news for Lindy!
Medication works for ADHD due to a chemical imbalance in the brain which the medicine helps to treat....My son was a different child once he began taking ADHD medication....Was So worth it! After the first week, he came home and said, "Mom, My friends like me now"....I almost cried....Don't be afraid to advocate for your kids....You guys, the parents are the Best advocates for your kids..... God Bless you and your family with whatever you choose.....Love watching your sweet family!!
I’m disabled and take that same medicine that griffin starting to take it helps me feel better and helps me not get so angry and mad when I’m bored I hope everything works out with the new medicine helps
I have been a Special Education Assistant at a Wisconsin elementary school for 12 years and have a great niece with special needs. You and Will are such great parents and advocates for your kids! Your family is in my daily prayers for the extra challenges you encounter. 💙
You are such a good mom. I have an autistic son with ADHD and I chose to put him on medication when he was 4. He's now 14 and it has helped him tremendously.
Oh, precious Emily, I can't imagine ANYONE would question what you're doing. If they could walk.....just 1/2 mile in your shoes....they may respond differently. Based on what we see from the videos, Griffin does seem to be more vocal and "upset" lately. No one, not family, not the individual, NO ONE should have to go through this when there is medication that will help them lead a calmer, more productive life. You do what you feel is best and fight for it. Praying for you and your family. Don't forget.....YOU are wonderful!
I heard on your stories that the medicine has been "life-changing" for him. So happy to hear that! You are making the best decisions for you and your child! Those who choose to criticize have NO idea what you and Griffin are going through.
your the BEST parents and your right to pursue this with the doctors...hopefully they will give you good advice....it sounds exhausting for Griffin & everyone else - of course you should seek answers. love from Scotland x
You really are doing what's best for Griffin and the rest of the family he should have been prescribed it ages ago , I hope it works for all your sakes. Lots of love and remember you are wonderful ❤️ ♥️
You're doing an awesome job. I would say that you can't let Griffin keep hurting you & the rest of your family & Griffin clearly isn't happy himself. Medication shouldn't be controversial. If an adult has depression or adhd, they receive medication. Why should a child & their family not receive the help they need just because they happen to be a child? That's messed up. People who disagree need to learn to keep their opinions to themselves. As far as I can see (& as well as having a degree in health & social care, I've grown up around & worked with people with special needs of all ages), you're being a loving, caring, responsible mom. Griffin, Sawyer, Harrison, Wyn, Posey & Lindy are all blessed to have you as their mom. That's what's important.
You are an amazing awesome mum(and Dad Will😊).I’m so glad you have got some medication. He can’t continue that way poor thing and it will be great for you.He needs it just like others need for asma or depression or anything else. It’s great! Go mum!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Only you/your family could possibly know what is best for Griffin. No one else should have any reason to judge or criticize. Thats the beauty of being a parent...you get to choose for your child/ren. Not other people. Also...look into tubby todds all over ointment for his eczema. It worked way better then steroids for my son.
I am a teacher, remember when kids act out impulsively that can be very dangerous for them. They don’t have time to stop, think and process what’s happening at the moment. You are NOT being a BAD MOM. YOU ARE FANTASTIC! You notice when your children are struggling, remember that you are wonderful with your children.💕❤️💕 I wish all parents notice how their children act and when they are struggling.
Hugs to you and your family ! He is such a sweet boy and he deserves what ever will help him your so right ! Medicine is not bad it is a blessing we have it to help us and to try it when some people don’t I have ADHD and I am going to try medicine for the first time ! Having a hard time with college.
Of course you're doing what's best for your children! I was ssoooo against medication for my children and guanfacine has changed our life. If there is something you can do for them that helps them regulate themselves and function within their world a little easier.. then why not?! Good job, mama! FYI guanfacine did make them super tired when they first started it and now they are back to normal with a huge scale down in behaviours.
I think what you are doing for your children is the BEST you & Will can possibly do♥️ What I’ve noticed by following people who put their entire life on social media is that they are judged harshly by the general public and they don’t like it (I don’t blame you) BUT it’s just apart of being a public family!!! I miss the map videos of when you pin places on the map where your subs live ♥️ Much love from Georgia 🍑
I think that you are doing an excellent job of raising your wonderful family. You are advocating your children extremely well. I wish you all of God's many blessings. May God Bless you always.
Over the years I have worked with at least 8 to 10 children with Angelman syndrome. They are adorable but sometimes they are very hard to handle and you are doing a great job. Don’t worry about other peoplesjudgments because you are doing what is right for you and your family
What a challenge you have every moment of every day! Is there a daycare in summer to give you some respite from it! The other children deserve your attention too! My heart goes out to you!
YOU KNOW WHATS BEST FOR YOUR FAMILY! Don't listen to what anyone says! Those of us who follow you know you are always doing whats best for your kids! Prayers to you & Griffen & finding answers.
Ur great momma. Keep on being his voice. Lots of kuddos to u. I donno how u do it, but even tho ur having a hard day, u always end the vlog with a smile.
I am proud of the decision you have made! 1st of all, it's YOUR business, what you do with your kids is your decision. 2nd, not only will it improve Griffin's world, it will your entire family. It's not fair for you and Will to do anything and everything you can, and still feel heartbroken, along with the kids not knowing what Griff will do next. Also, ignore the ignorant comments! They are choosing to make lives harder! You do what you KNOW is good and beneficial to YOUR family! You got this! I think it's a great idea for passes! You looked like your were having fun too! You needed that as well!
Doctors!!! Fun times. Bad times that he is hurting himself, his twin, his siblings and his parents. That’s not okay that he isn’t being safe and is hurting himself and others. Do what’s best for him. I hope the doctors can help him. Not to scare you but I think griffin might have adhd. It’s pretty funny how when you were trying to talk in the minivan, Griffin was having a screaming conversation(RIP headphone users😂😂😂) love you Emily and love you Wallace Children!!!!!!PS Griffin is a strong willed 5 year old(Hahahahha)Aka a wild hilarious 😂 crazy kid…. Who has a ton of energy and brings a lot of fun energy wherever he goes .
You are such a warrior for your children! Whatever you think is best for your kids is only between you and your husband! I pray that you guys are able to come up with a solution that works for your family! Praying that God will show you and your doctors what is best for your little one!
You do what you need to do for your kids and your family. You & Will are amazing parents and I truly believe you do the best you can. You guys do more than most parents, you go above and beyond !!!
Many people regret not having medication sooner bc it made such a huge difference in their life!! You do what works best for you, no one walks in your shoes! I hope it everything works out just fine, ~Lots of love!!!
Only you know your kid the best and my mum got me on meds and it changed my life for the better without meds I was suicidal and depressed but now I'm better alot better it had been life changing but a long journey with autism and mental health without my meds I wouldn't be the person I am today you got this em . We started very low doses first and then upped too 💙
You stand up for your kids and I think your a great mum don’t let people run your down I raid three kids with adhd and odd stand up for your kids keep your heart where it’s is your a wonderful mum
My 5 yr. old grandson is starting meds tomorrow because his behaviors are horrible. He has autism and Very hyper. He hurts everyone in his family, breaks windows, broke TV, broke fridge. He just a little guy but very strong. You have to do what’s best for everyone. Jonah is not sleeping at all. It’s a viscous cycle. Jonah is on meds 4 times a day. He is going to start ADH meds. I hope it works for my grandson and I hope it works for Griffin. It’s meds for Jonah or my daughter is gonna end up in a looney bin.
Emily, you are a wonderful mother who does what is best for her kids. You have an incredible load, but you handle it bu putting your kids first and doing everything you can to meet their needs. Never pay attention to any criticism. Some people have to be negative and think they know it all. You keep doing what you are doing, and your kids will have their best lives!
I work with kids with significant mental health disorders and behavioral challenges. Guanfacine is not only a super safe medication to be on I have seen it be incredibly helpful for kids with ADHD to help them slow down and focus. It is also is helpful with aggression.
Okay I'm watching this in the future when Griffin is already on medication and doing well, but I'm trying to get my daughter medicated and I just want to say that I can tell Griffin was miserable in this video! I take ADHD medicine myself, and for any parents out there struggling with this decision, I just want to say this: The right medication makes your child FEEL BETTER. They will be HAPPIER. This is all about finding the best way for your child to live their best life, and if what they need is medication - because their brain chemistry needs a little nudge in the right direction, which isn't anyone's fault - then that's the best choice for them.
Emily I back you, there is nothing wrong with trying medication for your kids. If it helps them to have a better life then go for it. My kids have to take medication for different reasons and it has helped them so much. Anyone that gives you a hard time about using medication, then they should spend a day with you and see what it really is like. It is not easy being a parent to kids with special needs. I am glad the doctor listened to you. I had it a few years back were my oldest would hurt her siblings and me. Any time she would go after them to hurt them, I would put myself in her way. I couldn't get the doctors to listen to me. You are doing a great job. Keep doing what you are doing for your kids. Hugs.
My autistic son is starting to trial meds because of behaviors... which more and more are from anxiety and ADHD. Guanfacine is also what we tried first. Made him too tired and when it wore off he was often in even more of a blind rage than we'd ever seen. We even got the cops called on us for a meltdown that was from not wanting to take a break so I could finish dinner. We had got cats for therapy/emotional animals shortly before and I was worried he was going to strangle them seemed to be his goal every morning. Clicked that he was completely out of control of this and not just him having a hard time one morning when he came down from a rage and was upset "someone" had moved the blanket and other things from the couch... scary stuff for a common used med and he was on a low dose. He was still coming off it when we had a sedated dentist appointment he nearly grabbed my windpipe and also never messes with his car seat but was trying to unbuckle and was trying to run away from us. We put him on stimulant and side effects were fine but still having some behaviors and anxiety and while he was still getting enough sleep he definitely had racing thoughts at bed time that were making it later he actually felt tired. So the new med we are told to trial is a atypical anti-psychotic. She never asked his body weight so I realized in my research we could have overdosed him at the suggested dose and his favorite drink can't mix with it so we're at a loss of how to get him to take it fun times... But I swear his doctor wants basically is suggesting he'd be better sedated and in a facility because she only sees him when he's especially bad because he just doesn't want to be at ANY doctor.
You gave to do what is right for your kid ds! It is not good for sgriffen to hurt himself and others. Sone ADGD dies not make them comatose but helps.. ynrudi help them you may have to try a few. My shod daughter had the meds anddid great! Csone effect their appitejust feed them before that pill thst is how we did it. And others make them eat. Good luck! You do what is best for your children the heck eith the trolls! You know your kids the best!! You are strong ‘. You sre lived’
Don’t let people shame you! I put my son on medicine when he was four and it was the best thing for him. One day I forgot the medicine and he was a totally different child. He couldn’t get on the bus he couldn’t function. My counselor puts it this way you’re trying to help them have a successful life. If they can’t think or be still for more than five seconds there’s no way they can have a successful life. Totally ignore what other people say. It is your child and your choice. I will be praying it helps. Because it does make a huge difference!
Emily ignore those hate comments or anything. I know how you are feeling and you are a very good mom. Till they have children with special needs they don't know want any parent going through. I have 3 children that are special needs. My 20 year old son had the severe case of ADHD and medication worked wonderful for him especially during the school year. And when he was a teenager he told me he didn't like how he feels ( when don't get his ADHD medicine) and he wants take his medicine. You are making sure all your kids are safe and all. Your children are very proud they have good loving and caring parents,
Hope the meds work. You gotta do what you gotta do to have a peaceful and safe life. Btw, you predicted and forecast people being mean but I don’t see any mean comments. Most people understand these are unique situations that need individual and unique care.
Only you and Will know what's right for your family. Griffin is clearly not his happy little self so if there's something that can help him even a little bit then it's totally worth it. Same with Sawyer.
Everyone can see that you are doing what’s best for Griffin and your other kids. People are not in your shoes. They only see what you show us. You don’t want to expose his acting up more to the world. What you are showing is only a tidbit of your life. You and Will are doing a fabulous job raising your kids. You shouldn’t have to defend yourself for doing what’s best for your children. I bet anyone of these people that’s trying to make you feel bad couldn’t spend a day in your shoes raising your kids. Haters back off!
Go for it. Don't worry what others think. Do what is best for your child. Steroids make kids crazy. Can they use another medication? That may be a factor in behaviors.
Medication is not the enemy. You are living with the behaviors the critics are not. Ignore the haters you are a great mom who always does the best for your kids.
You have done so much for your kids you even moved for god sake- if some ass hole says your in any way screwing up your kids - if this helps I applaud you PERIOD ❤️
You briefly touched on Griffin being on steroids for his eczema but didn’t say whether he’s on oral steroids or a steroid cream. As an adult who takes oral steroids for a lung condition if it’s oral he’s on that could well be the cause of at least some of his behaviours. In terms of mood that in turn impacts behaviour, especially in children who don’t have the developmental ability to regulate their own behaviour, steroids swing from one end of the pendulum to the other. They either make you feel really up or really down and there’s no consistency in that reaction. They can also make you feel really jumpy like you’ve got energy pulsing through your body and no matter how hard you shakes your hands, arms, legs, whole body it doesn’t quieted your body. I can take an exacerbations regime and have no impact at all , I might just get the body surges, I might get the up side effect, I might get the down or a combination. There’s no predicting and I’m yet to find a common denominator that could be the cause for why my reaction to them changes. If he is on oral steroids it could be worth seeing if you can swap to a steroid cream which being absorbed into the skin rather than his body systems has less side effects to see if that makes a difference.
Don,'t be afraid to medicate....If he has a chemical imbalance in the brain, medication will be a positive for him and will be a tool in helping him to be successful....Praying you find the answers he needs.....
It’s OK to medicate if that will help him and the other kids quality of life. Also your quality of life. People don’t understand with his disability it’s different. I hope you find a solution.
You wouldn’t know your options unless you ask professionals. What if he tried something physical? I work with severely disabled kids and the PT and Ot work these kids physically because they aren’t able to regulate their energy. If they use their bodies and get tired, sometimes it helps. I know that you are sick of people in your house, I would be too. Medication isn’t anything to be ashamed of or afraid to explore. There are actual trainers that have a certification in working with disabled kids. I do know that pushing and pulling is great for kids like him, and kids with autism and ADHD. I’m a adult and diagnosed with adhd along with my son. People gave me crap for putting him on meds. You can’t regulate brainwaves with therapy and fidget spinner. My son is doing wonderfully now. He Loves School now. Makes friends and isn’t afraid of life. I know you will do the best for him.
If this medicine doesn’t work, ask about Depakote. It became essential help for a family member with disability and dangerous acting out, like hitting , throwing things. You’re so right. This has to be stopped. I’m so sorry. The other kids do all suffer, and so do you and Will. Sometimes I worry about Harrison and Wyn, because you and Will have to focus so much energy and attention on Griffin and the other little ones. Hope the medicine prescribed calms him down, and helps him sleep, too. You are doing the essential thing-if you and Will collapse, or anyone gets hurt, it will be a disaster for the whole family. You and Will are so amazing!! ❤️❤️

Your children, your choice
I would never think to criticize you! You are a wonderful mother and do the best you can to advocate for your children.
Please talk to a nutritionist Emily also, could make a big difference too❤️
Just noticed you are the only one to comment about that!! Sure does speak volume for me
The link between diet and ADHD has never been proven.
I sure could use seeing a big hug - between you and Will 👍😍😁

You are such an amazing woman and mom. You keep on being you.
Best of luck Emily I support you with your decision for Griffin icnor all the haters
Do what you need to do!!! 😊
I feel so sorry for you guys, do whatever you have to do.
Yes! Because if something is not done to ameliorate hurtful acts, his sibs will begin to resent and reject him.
Your children are very proud they have good loving and caring parents,
Hugs mama!
Tell everyone that gives you crap to walk a mile in your shoes. I live in the Springs also almost 36 years
Hope the meds work. You gotta do what you gotta do to have a peaceful and safe life. Btw, you predicted and forecast people being mean but I don’t see any mean comments. Most people understand these are unique situations that need individual and unique care.
I'M on that same meds because I have ADHD it's called guanfacine
I agree with you
my 6 yr is on guanfacine as well it helps my son
Anyone who comes for you in the comment oughtto be ashamed of themselves. They are not in your shoes, you are. You’re doing a great job, mama
Griffin is so handsome it’s those beautiful blue eyes,
Go for it. Don't worry what others think. Do what is best for your child. Steroids make kids crazy. Can they use another medication? That may be a factor in behaviors.
That's very true.
No one should judge ❤️🙏
It’s your children and and the other people aren’t walking in your shoes. I think your doing great !
Medication is not the enemy. You are living with the behaviors the critics are not. Ignore the haters you are a great mom who always does the best for your kids.
Shame on people who judge any decision you make for your kids. No one has that right !!! Hoping you find something that will give him some success
Emily if it helps Griffin it will help you all as well.xx
You have done so much for your kids you even moved for god sake- if some ass hole says your in any way screwing up your kids - if this helps I applaud you PERIOD ❤️
Hope it help
He has the most beautiful blue eyes
Is there a day camp for Griffin?
Please calm down Emily, your kids will act off of your emotions. My son ended up being ADHD, I know how hard it is to be Mom!
Do whatever you need to to help him
I hope no one comes at you. You have to try this. Good luck.
Love it
Poor Griffin. He needs a bit of help. It will work out. The dr will kniw what to do. Jesus has His hand on Griffin.
Depakote: Also great for seizure disorders!
@@beautifulvictory9683 I’m on that medicine
Quanficine my grandson takes it works well
