But that's not why they are doing this. It's idealogical, brimming with hatred and score settling. They don't like farmers for the same reason and like the Bolsheviks seek vengeance. It's interesting to note that in Europe, this is the only country to apply VAT to education, considered a necessity.
Why doesn't the government offer quality education, or is the problem here that, like most public service bodies, it can not as it is feckless and incompetent and many of its servants lack drive to deliver ??

As Australia absolutely proved, the only way to dismantle the people smugglers' business model is to not grant permanent residency to asylum seekers who arrive by boat. Australia did this through an aggressive boat turnback policy (which would work even better for the UK given the much shorter return distances) and only granting those who do make it to Australian landfall "Temporary Protection Visas" of maybe 5 years. Once that 5 years was up, if their country has become safer, as happened for Tamils in Sri Lanka, their TPV was not renewed and they had to leave. These measures destroyed the smugglers' business model and the boats essential completely stopped. Hard action is necessary, not hard rhetoric!

Many may have not seen what I have seen, living in North London my whole life.
Back from 2000, walking down Chichele Road on the A407 towards Willesden Green half the street had rows of Polish, Romanian, Armenian & Russian "workers" hanging around. Then there would be a few vans showing up and these migrants running over like they were handing out free beers. Driver had a quick chat with some and then another guy loaded 5 or 6 of them into the back of the van. This was going on for over 5 years before I started seeing police patrol that area and stop & question these people.
Fast forward 20 years and I'm seeing the same thing along Edgeware Road down Geron Way opposite Builder Depot.
I reported suspected illegal immigration and illegal hiring practices to the Home Office with photos some 3-4 years ago. Got zero response.
This is what we inherited from Tony Blair and was allowed to continue through the Conservatives which begs the question: Why do people still only have the 2 party system mentality?
People may not like Nigel Farage's personality and that's fine but Albert Einstein said it best: "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results"

Hi Daniel and a good New year to you.
I've been watching your channel for over a year now! And it is truly wonderful!
Give me someone who knows truth and law I'll back them every time!
I have great respect for the law and the principle of law and due process! Having Asperger's its tacked on by default!
But! and it's a big but! Law in modern terms seems to be dependant on who's who and doing what and when, in other words these politicians seem to be able to mould the law when they choose? How can this be?
I was at Wimbledon in 2016 at the Brexit referendum in support of Brexit as I too was concerned about the overwhelming influx of UK borders, not because of genuine asylum seekers, but for the many hundreds of thousands who would illegally jump on the bandwagon! It wasn't about human rights then, for me it became a point in law and weather law, especially human rights law was being manipulated! I've been vigilant in watching this unfold for nearly 10 years and even after this substantial period, law, as we know it seems to have no prudence in this matter?
Why? because politicians keep altering or diluting what laws are? I.e. changing the rules at a whim to suit whose in power?
Wasn't law as I understood it above all such interference by individuals? My hero is sir Thomas Moore, who gave his life for the principle of law! That should not be interfered with by governments!
When did law, the Judiciary end up in the pockets of politicians or the media?
You say that we should look positive, but I fear we are on a downward, slippery slope!
It seems to be the norm these days, that if they can get away with it, they'll do it!
Sadly there seems no way to appeal or over turn these insane decisions that only benefit the few whilst penalise the many!
Your channel is a breath of fresh air from all the underhandedness that goes on in plain view! So thank you for being an advocate.

Regardless of the money, there is no way the plan to recruit 6,500 teachers will work. I say this because my wife is a teacher (Head of Department) and she tells me that over the last few years it has been extremely difficult to fill vacancies. This is for the want of money, the schools already have budget to cover these vacancies, there just aren’t enough teachers looking for new roles/jobs. And this isn’t for the want of recruiting either, the DfE has been spending loads on TV and cinema advertising and financial incentives to do teacher training.
And 6,500 teachers may sound a lot, it is certainly a lot to recruit, it may sound like loads to the layman, but in reality it equates to less than two teachers per school, nothing like enough to fill the existing shortages and that is before you consider the students transferring from private schools.

Two things. How are people who have come here to claim asylum but have not yet had their claims validated, managing to get passports, let alone Visa's to enter the country they have run from? 2. If the Government feels it needs to make some sort of a point by taxing the 'luxury' of a private education, which I am sure we all feel is wrong, does it have to be 20%. Why not 5% which may be much more manageable. (Its not as if we have to set a fixed rate any more, the government can vary it at their will.)
Strange to think that most of our 'Modern' politicians, who seem to think they are the new 'Elite', are themselves the product of the highly advantageous private education system. Perhaps too many working class children are now getting there and spoiling their party!

    • @quantisedspace7047

There is very little in the way of people "having their claims assessed". To all intents and porpoises, they are rubber stamped with citizenship, passport etc almost immediately on arrival. That's how they clear the backlog: by just giving them all the green lt.

I was always under the impression that the first country you drive in is the country you can legally claim asylum. So if someone were to swim or fly and bypass multiple countries then land in the UK they can request asylum. If however, they walk through multiple countries that are considered safe then they must seek asylum in the first safe country they arrive in. I was told this many years ago by an international lawyer who was well respected by the UN and various governments. It would appear this law has now changed or being ignored.

If they have no documents, we don´t know where they come from, hence, we do not know if their country is covered by asylum.
People from Morocco, Albania, Vietnam, etc. are not leaving due to torture, or fear of death. They are economic migrants. These people are tourists, not asylum seekers.
They should not be given anything. We do not feed the world. We should not be paying for people who are not from this country.
