Very good explanation of Maestro Sonny’s techniques young Guro Jay. May God bless you with good health and fortune so you can continue to spread his art. Mabuhay.
Good work and interesting, in our style of DeCuerdas our founder also used nautical terminology to describe principles and concepts including the term the wave, or pulling in the boat. The cutting style is similar to something we do which I related more to a sticky hand technique of flowing and following a movement for insertion of or sliding of your blade. Great stuff amigo.
Must be a Bay Area thing LOL! Wondering if all the old school Maestros in Bay Area cross trained with each other. Since there's so many similarities within systems out there.
This technique is called “the cone of defense” in western martial arts, in Lastra Arnis this would be part of our “framing” technique. Highly effective way to become counter offensive, works great at speed because the movement is highly efficient. 😀
I get the concept and principle but all of the feeders cuts were done very slowly which gives the feeder time to ride the wave so to speak. I understand doing that for demo purposes but I'm not convinced this is a smart idea at real attach speed. I would like to see a video demonstrating it in a more realistic manner with all due respect.
Advance level techniques.
nice
Thanks sir 🙏
Most welcome. Thank you for your years of support.
Nice!
Thanks! All credit goes to Guro Jay. We're just here to document for future generations.
That is very unique, I have never seen that before.
Good work! The blending is very fluid and the flow continues through. Thank you🙏
Very Good!!!

We hope Guro Jay and the other active Guro's of VSCK can keep it going. A lot of gold nuggets within this system.
Nice, I’ve seen it before with the stick. Gotta be more precise when doing that blade to blade. Good stuff.
Agreed, we've seen something similar off of the stick as well. It was from the "De Cuerdas" block from Serrada. Block and deflect at the same time.
❤ Maestro Sonny has been reincarnated by the fluidity of natural movements within the VSCK
system .
Hondo 🙏🏾

Yes sir, hopefully future generations will carry on the mission in spreading Maestro Sonny's art.
I see this technique also with Kalis Ilustrisimo and Chinese Jean.

Different names and instruction, but the same end result. No matter how people learn it, if it works, it works :)
@@FMAPulse thank you for your channel and sharing this information you are a blessing.
To ensure that the opponent wont be able to break hit always cut their weapon hand/arm.
It reduces the amount of work you need yo put into fencing

That would be a question for Guro Jay to answer. Feel free to reach out to him.
