I use two old car mats either side of my car. That way when i want to Jacky car up my knees aren't on the concrete. Also acts as a nice door mat to wipe shoes on.

Hey Cody, could you make a guide to all consumables you keep on hand? When to use acetone vs degreaser vs other cleaning products. What greases to keep on hand. What should and shouldn’t be cleaned with carb cleaner? What oils to use on various materials. I’ve always been confused by the chemicals. Especially when is the WRONG time to use them.

Maybe, as a professional RUclipsr , you need a big screen on top of your main wooden desk to see what you need, without having to get too close to the laptop screen. It's an idea. Greetings from Argentina! I hope you're having a wonderful day. 😊

I aspire to have a shop like this. I got a slow start to it but have been working on it the last 8-9 years (since I got divorced!) These days my 2 car garage doubles as a shop.
Glad to see more of these types of videos on your channel!

Nice. My last 20 years was working on mostly school busses. Retired a couple years ago. This is great advice setting up your work area. Even when you have your boxes and bench set up, working on a 40 foot bus is a little more walking. Not much of a triangle. Lol
Good to have a rolling tool box when working in one spot away from your main box.
    Great content.

  • @MrFlyrod7
    @MrFlyrod7 8 месяцев назад

Having built many work areas over the years this is a great setup. My work/hobby is primarily rebuilding old axes and cleaning/sharpening knives for myself and friends. Nothing like taking a 50 or 60-year-old axe and rebuilding it to be used again. So my area for this work is smaller and now that I look at it, it is a triangle.

Having everything one or two steps is a great plan.
When I set up the blacksmith shop I put the vise, forge, and anvil 2 steps from each other. The idea was to prevent me from falling into the habit of twisting at the waist when lifting something from the forge to the anvil or vise versa.
I like the rolling seat. I use an old office chair with the back removed. The air cylinder lets me adjust for working on running boards or at a bench.
Great layout Cody. Just working warm and dry is a big plus. Having everything in reach with room to walk around is just about perfect.
Add a toilet, coffee pot, and refrigerator and I could live there. 😁😎

I am not sure there's ones that can fit a snowbike like that, but working at a motorcycle repair shop, one of the most important tools we have is a motorcycle lift, it's way easier to have the whole bike off the ground, having your brakes at the height of your hands instead of getting close to the ground to work on them is the best, but also, it takes up quite a bit of space and we work on bikes the whole day so it might not be so important for someone thhat does other stuff at the shop, keep up the great videos Cody!

As a mechanic, I only required one snap on tool. A pivot head, fine tooth ratchet with round handle.
After a couple years of daily wrenching with craftsman square ratchet handle I was getting really sore almost arthritis like pain where the ratchet corner applied pressure to my metacarpal. So I bought a snap on ratchet that was stolen along with all my tools in the last vehicle I was living in.
Makes me wish I lived in Afghanistan because they don't have piece of s*** scumbag thieves. And if there is a thief, they only steal once.
That said, I prefer craftsman tools for warranty exchange. It's easier and more convenient for me to run to Ace hardware or when Sears was in business. Then trying to track down my snap on truck.
I might have to wait a day or two for the truck, meanwhile Ace/Sears open everyday.
That could be the difference in getting paid by having the job done that day.
