I believe the CEO may be a super villain…
.. Something different from the normal people in power? Haha you won the internet today, great comment
The gas powered bikes layed their advertising in the 60s.. they better get on it but it won't matter in the end . Let's enjoy combustion engines till then 💫
😂looks like one huh
Lol!! Perfect description!
Yes I think so
Oh my goodness! What a beautiful bike!
Electric bike means backyard supercross track without the neighbors complaining.
Bring on the future.
Not even being sarcastic
Thankyou for the noise consideration
I got not problems with backyard dirt biking,‘other than the fact it’s currently noisy af.
I work Monday-Saturday, Sunday I want to relax.. sadly it’s a Crusty Demons show several houses down
I know there is electric dirt Bikes currently but this is sick! It’s Ft-lb of torque per ton is effing ridiculous
You do know that they make a fairly audible noise as well right. They aren't completely silent and the noise they make is quite annoying.
A back yard dirt bike is about all this thing would be good for.
Nothing comparable to ICE @@corail53
@@jasons1287 lmao the perfect hatter comment who didn't test and knows absolutely nothing
That CEO looks like a Bond villain I don’t think he blinked his eyes the whole video
I'm hoping for a hot-swappable battery. In the deserts of the west, being able to swap out the battery is a must. For racers, changing batteries between motos is essential too.
I don't like that they don't respond to questions. I saw a demo with a professional. He was impressed, but the battery was pretty much depleted at 30min.
Yes it has a hot-swappable battery set up video. Sorry I didn't see this question. The battery stays on the bike stand and you lift the front end up and off. Very easy. I use 2 bike stands and 2 battery packs. With out the battery in the bike is very light to change to the 2nd battery. I use the left hand lever/rear brake option. So right turns in a berm my leg is out and rear brake on longer that other moto-cross bikes. Takes about 2 rides to get use to it and watch your lap time drop.
Just have to say wow! Love all the innovation in the smal details also the fact it's designed from the ground up as an electric and not just an electric motor on a gas engine frame! I hope this can keep the MX tracks alive and not just keeping to getting shut down.
How many tracks are closing? We have some of that occurring in our country also, very frustrating when the MX track was there way before the new houses!
Hopefully this opens up MX tracks back in suburban areas instead of driving out for a couple of hours!
@@kingofallworlds Sound is properly not the only reason, land value and property development i think is the reason.

To the team at Stark. WELL DONE! This is what we've been waiting for since the death of Alta. I have ordered! Please please hurry up and produce them. Congratulations for designing the best e-bike in the world!

Needs a clutch. Everyone is now understanding the importance of this. Needs to have if you're on the trails.
Don’t get me wrong, I do believe eBikes are the future, but I really struggle with this announcement:
80HP, can handle MXGP intensity, 6 hours of trail riding… superlatives here and there.
BUT: They say the bike has 6kWh battery capacity and that you can ride trails for 6 hours with it. That means you may only have an average power output of 1000W while riding. A hair dryer needs more power than this. Math sucks 😉. But hey, marketing is everything these days. That’s probably the reason only their CEO (MBA) and their communication manager talk about the technical details and no engineer.
Important questions are left unanswered, like is the battery included in the price and what about the charger? Can you swap batteries between motos? But at least we learn that it has a 24 carrat gold logo on it.
My personal highlight at 11:05: "weights only 110kg fully charged"...
Another revolutionary bike like the Cannondale Motocross bike in 2001… But the chain adjuster is cool. Maybe this is something that will stick around.
Agreed! They didn’t talk about the important bits like brakes, suspension, wheels and tyres etc. I bet the phone display is an extra €$£ to🤷🏼♂️
All the money into this stuff wrecks my vision of what used to be moto bikes! Any true rider would want the old days back instead of what this day of moto has come too. High prices and innovation when some just want 2 strokes from their favorite manufacturer. My opinion of course😞
6kwh for the battery is not enough for regular use. Its like having 2 liters of gas
Over priced electric crap! Check on the cost of a 2nd battery. Maybe this would be just ok for the wealthy sponsored MX rider that has all of the lithium batteries needed!
It gets lighter as the battery discharges too 😉
I am impressed !!!
i am still not going to sell my 2 stroke, but this would be a very nice addition, and you can ride it anywhere without any noise complain !
After riding this...your 2 stroke may start gathering dust ;)
Crazy how 2 strokes ruled for a long while then 4 strokes came along for about a decade or so and now this!?.
This sport has progressed far and quickly.

"with the Stark Varg your nuts are safe"
😂😂😂
I'm not to much a fan of electric but I think this one is a bit ahead of the rest of the electric bikes. It definitely looks the best to me. However, I won't be selling my XR. 😁
I don’t know. The idea of much less wrenching sounds really good to me. I’ve been working on bikes for over 30 years. Not having to clean and oil air filters constantly is almost enough lol. I may be selling my SX for one of these.
For track motards this thing is gonna be hot. Can't wait to see ebikes break into the professional scene and this seems like a solid step in that direction. E-supercross when?
Up till now, all the electric bikes I've seen had trouble just lifting the front end. This is 'hang-on' power in a real chasis. It was only a matter of time. The future is here. Congrats Stark. You have changed the game.
Then your never ridden the Alta MXR. If you put in it map 3 or 4 it's a wheelie machine, faster then my 350 xc-f under 60mph
@@JoshStreetDesign Nobody said anything about wheelies. As you can see, this is an earth-mover. And it's not $50,000. It all changes from here.
@@jimrhea5484 my alta is an earthmover you could plow a field with the thing. If I do an MX start and just lean on the throttle it digs a deeper and longer trench than my gas bikes easily.
@@JoshStreetDesign Meh, this is the first time I've seen 450 or even 500 two stroke power in an electric. I'm sure if an Alta made this much power, it would have already been challenging the the 450's. See the roost? That's some serious stuff.
@@jimrhea5484 It's the same power dude, same battery, LOL. It's not putting out a continuous 80hp, that's a laughable marketing gimmick. You just don't understand until you try it. I have owned practically every iteration of gas bikes, even a CR500. The Alta MXR is as powerful as any of them, but easier to ride at the same time, with no vibration. I'm a way better rider on the Alta than my 350 XC-F. Every person who has tried it gets off with a huge smile on their face. The reason it never took off is that so many are against electric in the MX world, especially because it was years ago before the electric craze took off 2 years ago. If Alta could have held out another year or 2 they would have survived and be thriving now. I have 4 friends who owned altas, and they all sold their KTMs immediately after getting the Alta. Don't get me wrong, I applaud this company and wish them the best, but it's really not any different than an Alta bike.
I rode the alta 2018 and really wanted one then the doors were closed. Hopefully these guys have enough $ to get over the first rough patch and keep up. Looks awesome!
FINALLY! A replacement for the Alta Red Shift is here. LOVE IT!!! Need a plated version.
Love love love my 2-strokes, been riding em for 50+ years, but its innovators like this that will help save our sport... best of luck, sure seems like their on the right track (no pun intended)

This is the first electric vehicle of any kind to impress me. I hate the fact I like it, I will miss the smell of 2 stroke. Well done Stark, very innovative! I would like to see a pro rider doing timed laps on one vs a 450.
Josh hill just barely eeked out a win on an Alta against Kyle Cunningham on a 250 in straight rhythm in 2016. Electric might be the future we’re being forced into, but that future is still a very long way off.
@@wesleyg72 they can’t even go two motos without having to have a recharge.. one of my good buddies who I raced with growing up and now our kids race each other mine is on a gas ktm and his is on an electric ktm.. he can only sign his kid up for 1 class when it’s a big race because 1 hour max is how long the battery will last at a sand track.. the battery isn’t removable so you either have an extra bike or have a generator charging between motos.. stupid

A 80hp MX bike doesn’t sound like something available for everyone. You need some special talent to reel it in. That’s the power of a Husqvarna 701 in the weight of a YZ450.
@@moomoodeadcow You are correct, the VARG is one beast of a bike, but I'm sure that with all of the mapping available you will be able to select a beginner mode. I think they actually mention this. Imagine not having to buy a 125, then a 250, then a 450... It's all those in one.
@@mindbomb2000 Yes and I expect them to release a supermoto version of this bike. That'd be super interesting. Because on the asphalt TC and abs just work better. On the dirt, not so much. Also those carbon parts won’t fair well against a rock.
That was sick! Love the attention to detail and all the innovations! 👌🏻
Let me know when you want me to test one out! 😉
As an engineer I am so absolutely impressed by this. The fact that you can compete with existing manufacturers at a somewhat similar price point is incredible. I'm convinced that the mx and enduro market is the first one to properly adopt electric bikes. And everything about your bike is equal or better than existing bikes and on an absolutely new platform. Obviously you weren't bound by fuel tanks and combustion engines, however I'm sure that battery packs and electric motors and ESCs bring their own challenges with them. But it's absolutely obvious that you have understood the art and craftsmanship that is engineering, it is visible in many small details, but also know how to market and sell your bikes. The apperance is one such example. It's obviously a big part of motorcycles and your bike looks absolutely gorgeous. I'm pretty sure if you continue your work like this and deliver on your promises (which it does seem like you will do), you will quickly make yourself a recognised brand name and be able to expand your lineup to other areas of motorcycles. And it is hard in this day and age to start up a new company in such an established market.
I personally am most interested in a proper enduro version that includes a headlight, other than that you probably wouldn't need to change much. Second on my whishlist would be road legality in europe, but that's a whole other can of worms. However I'm sure you would still make it look awesome, even with indicators and a number plate. Also I'm interested in what you would work on after this is done and production has ramped up. If you are hiring or do internships, hit me up hahaha. Well, you probably don't read RUclips comments anyway... Still, best Regards
I'm a die hard 2 stroke fan. I love the 2 stroke riding experience. That said, I am also Honest - This Stark Varg bike seems quite awesome!
Me too, the only reason I am even watching is ability to ride unnoticed in new places. But the Alta, and I imagine this, you could program the power to mimic the powerband of a 2 stroke...but never the cool factor of a smoker

I use 2 their bike stands and 2 battery packs. It wears me out. I have the Alpha 80hp. I'm 6'2" or 188cm 220lbs with gear on and it's a rocket. I still have a CR500 and the Alpha is faster in very way and more controllable. Changing the gear oil is supper fast. Incredibly Fun bike I ever have owned in my life riding all over the US and Canada.
Bravo on the marketing side. This bike was unknown to the world till today and now it is all the talk, i hope it delivers!
What i love about this is just maintenance... im just so consumed by work and all the shit around me and then have to spend time with oili checking and all sorts... with electric motocross bikes that nightmare is over... this is my main goal!
Gamechanger! I know a lot of tracks which have Problems with noise pollution at the moment… this could help them to not closing the Track forever. 🙌🏻
Not just tracks but nature parks where they have banned bikes due to noise and pollution.
I wish I could believe this. The next reason to shut down tracks and riding areas will be for dust and soil erosion. There have been threats for nothing but dust alone.
Trust me the Karen's and Government will find reasons to still shut down tracks and trails. People are Shit and that's not changing
One thing that I always ask myself when seeing electric dirt bikes: you have almost unlimited freedom about shape. Why not, for something meant to be used in the dirt, make shapes which are easy to clean? Without nicks and crannies where you have to start disassemble to get it out?

This is close but You missed a mandatory element. Electric bikes must incorporate a clutch. You can spool energy in a flywheel and release it with the clutch in ways that are not possible with the throttle alone. Additionally, some situations it's easier to pull in a little clutch than it is to roll back the wrist.
i think you may not understand the torque that electric motors have. i encourage you to try an electric......anything ..... dont get me wrong im an I.C.E. guy but .... but a smart soldier has to know the enemy and damn electric shit is gettn better every year
@@jacobnewtron9635 I've ridden a couple good electric bikes. In fact, I bought my daughter a Kuberg Trials Hero. It's 3000w and pulls me around just fine. The torque is great on electric but the lack of a manual clutch is where they fall short. I'm sure it's fine for MX or flowy trails but the moment you get into a technical situation a manual clutch is a requirement. A tremendous video, especially the joke about "your nuts being safe".. Well done guys, the bike looks fantastic, my only fear is the cost!..
Needs a clutch for fine power regulation and safety for shutting off power when you’re hanging off the back.
Also…need to see it last a full MX GP race
Not really with all the torque of an electric motor and the ability to tune it you really don't need to worry about a clutch cuz you will get that instant torque as quick as you can pull the throttle
The only real safety is exactly the same as on any bike. Your right hand. Throttle control is just that much more important on an electric.
@@kingofallworlds That's not true at all, your left hand is just as important on a gas bike for power modulation. When you're getting kicked around it helps to have a lever (and not a twisting motion) to more accurately cut power. It's not about the power delivery, it's about controlling how much of that power goes to the drivetrain
clutch for babies

6kwh in the battery will push a Tesla about 20-24 miles. If you equate petrol fuel economy of a YZ450 at full chat on an MX track, it uses similar fuel to a car so I’d reckon the battery range is nearer to 30 mins. Really hope I’m wrong and these bikes can do a GP distance even if they pegged the power back to say 60hp.
Would be great to see the old mx tracks open for business again and more places to ride.

Better than Tesla? Let's get on road!
I love the look and concept of the electric bike, BUT, how long (total hours) does a battery last and when it's time to replace it can it be recycled? I'm not sure with lithium batteries. Also, how much does a replacement battery cost? Finally do you have US dealers ready to sell these?
Shame you didnt show some track footage that we could actually hear the bike. Cos lets face it, as much as the noise of a 2 or 4 stroke is its own worst enemy, nothing sounds better.

There is a lot of debate on the safety concerning such low noise levels. Stark, i think it would be good for your team to come up with a solution. It doesn't need to make as much noise as a roaring 450 but it does need something so it can be heard a couple hundred meters away on trails so hikers and people on horses etc can hear us coming? Suggest a sound generated which is mapped to motor speed and emits a frequency which is not annoying or overly loud, but alerts people to it's presence? This feature should be incorporated in to all e-bikes. Lead the way Stark!
Hell no, keep it silent and just pay attention
It’s about time. Thought it was going to be one of the big brands, but I love that it’s not! 👍
