Beautiful looking dish and worthy of 1000 more likes. Was that hot or sweet paprika? I love a bit of heat with avocado and potatoes. Thanks for all the great videos. I know how much time goes into producing these
I make kind of similar dish but I add and mix the egg in with the potatoes and onions etc. It is called pyttipannu in my country, it is like hashbrown in english.
I think I watched all the videos in this Channel and I really learned a lot (new recipes, cooking techniques, history and a bunch of stuff). Thank you so much Chef James. I enjoyed watching all the videos. I’n looking forward for more interesting vlogs from you. in the meantime I’ll gonna visit Vincenzo Plate for Italian Cuisines. ❤
Yes indeed I would be very happy to devour this dish for breakfast lunch AND dinner!!! Potato and Eggs not to mention that avocado simply delicious😋!!!

@@ChefJamesMakinson Washington is a beautiful state, I used to live in Colorado and I made a few trips up to Washington to backpack the northern cascades and Olympic national park and mount Rainer, beautiful state. I also heard in another video you used to live in the south west. Where in the south west did you live? And Alaska is awesome, it’s extremes are constant and ever changing but it is a pretty incredible place. Granted right now it is like -20 F and the sun is set for over 19 hours a day and still going down, but it is pretty amazing. If you ever make a trip to alaska I would be happy to help make it happen my friend. Keep up the good work man!
@@surthrivingalaska2511 I was born in Phoenix I've lived in Tucson Arizona for a long time, Los Angeles, Santa Fe, New México. I've also lived in Hawaii, Virginia, I've lived in a lot of places! Haha my dad was an executive chef so we used to move every 2 to 3 years. It was a little harder when we moved to Washington because there weren't as many big paying jobs so we opened a restaurant in Friday Harbor and we have that for almost 3 years and then I've worked all around Washington after that.
@@ChefJamesMakinson that’s awesome! Thanks for the background info, I really do appreciate it. My wife lived in Virginia for awhile and I love New Mexico and Arizona. Been a long time since I’ve been to LA though, and always wanted to visit Hawaii. What has been your favorite place you’ve lived?
@@surthrivingalaska2511 it would have to be Hawaii and of course I do love Europe but it's not the same thing. There are many things that I miss about home, I miss living in the country this is one thing I cannot stand about living in the city, you never have peace and quiet, it also makes recording videos very difficult haha 😅 if you ever visit Spain and you need any tips on where to go, don't hesitate to ask!
What a pleasure it is, to watch the movements of a seasoned pro, eh? Watch enough cooking vids, and it becomes cringey in an instant, when it's an amateur on screen. haha It's refreshing to see you doing your thing, brother. =)
@@ChefJamesMakinson Will do, bro. Many setbacks occurred on my end, including Thuhnderjack getting the Rona. Ugh. It's just been one thing after another with this one, man. But it's coming along. Fist bump!
WOW it looks absolutely delicious! Thank you for always sharing great recipes that are easy to follow and delicious. You have inspired me to start my own channel. Have a great day 🌷🌹🌹👍💐😍😋👌😋28
Beautiful! One question kind sir. I noticed you added salt to the potatoes while it was still cooking.. does it matter if you do it while cooking or afterwards? I always do mine post cooking. Thanks again!
Looks so good! I have a few questions: -Was there any special prep to the potatoes, like rinsing, soaking, chilling, etc? -around what heat level were the potatoes sauteed (medium, medium high?) Mine usually stick and I end up adding more oil than I want -is this more suitable in a non stick pan? If one isn't available, will more oil be needed?
I'd rather listen to you talking about what you're cooking while I'm watching the video rather than listen to a random song that you didn't even credit.

any ideas for a replacement to red pepper? not compatible with my digestion unfortunately

Thank you! I season while cooking but if you are using Teflon you should be careful as salt is abrasive

no special prep is needed, I used a non stick pan sautéed as normal on medium, to medium high if your pan is not a non stick use more oil
I prefer you talking but otherwise a perfect video!
Very enjoyable video. My knife skills are terrible, it takes me twice as long as cooking just cutting things.
My mouth is flooding.
i love taters and eggs
Nice. You lost me with the avocado and runny egg.

What would you use instead of avocado? I dont like it, for me its too faty
avocado is optional. you can add just about about anything. ham, turkey, aubergine etc.
