I also have that old blue Chicago Electric angle grinder, I use it mostly for a wire wheel or sanding disc anymore while using multiple grinders with different attachments. If you remove all the factory gearbox grease and replace it with a high temp/high speed Grade #0 grease that grinder runs Much better (not that it didn't before) but it's a great upgrade with a very noticeable improvement in performance.
Just got 2 packs of the warriors new color orange label now and started using them and I feel like they are burning out fast loses cutting strength fast compared to the green label ones I used a while back.
I've always preferred the side with the metal ring facing me (so if the grinder is upside down and I'm in the process of installing the wheel, I can see the ring, then install the nut). In my opinion, it makes for a better tightening so the nut slides against the metal ring as opposed to tightening against the abrasive on the side without it. I wished they would just put it on both sides. I'm not sure if I've seen a disc with the ring on the bare side, but the silkscreened label wouldn't have an effect in and of itself.
After the two videos, I'm sold on Bauer. I'm lazy and cheap. The warrior discs are too expensive per cut. Bauer looks like the speed of cutting and cuts per disk looks like like the sweet spot. Changing discs more than necessary sux.
The warrior brand is not good at all. Went thur all 10 cutting one 20 inch conductor pipe. Went and payed 3 dollars at the welding store and it lasted the whole second cut.
This was just the video I was looking for. Good job, and thanks for taking the time.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for making this video. God bless you. Such a niche video is exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate what you are doing.

Do I have to open the grinder?
For the record I have never opened my grinder...
@@gardenstate235 you don't have to open it but it's worth knowing if its properly lubricated.
@@JayLewisFarmStyle ive at least checked mine but over the years I have properly removed and regreased many of grinders for people
Great job and fair comparison. 👏

They may have changed more than just the label it sounds like.
The problem with all products we purchase is that in a year you might buy the same blades and run the same test and get entirely different results.
Good point, thanks for watching 👍
Thank you for this video
Does it matter which way the label side of the disc goes on with the cut off disc?

Just now saw this.
I don't believe it matters, but I find logic in what the other commenter said.
