Do they sale the chassis for a Savage .270 win? Also what’s connected to your scope?
mdttac.com/oryx-chassis-system/ Then select Savage Axis LA in options. Whatever magazine you select would need to be 30-06 platform in order to accommodate the .270 If you have questions when order reach out to MDT directly and they'll give you a hand.
What kind of warranty do they honor?

I got my trigger down to under 2lbs
I'm curious if the safety still engages (not that it really matters) 🤔
This was a great video. However, the CT RAD dovetail mount is not a tight fit for the shield m&p 9mm sub combat. After a few shots it pops right out. Don’t advise.
Thanks for sharing 👍
I prefer that it does not come with permeant sights that need to be worked around. Since mine is now my primary home defense weapon I have installed a green laser on the bottom rail a red dot on top and fold down irons along with a rubber butt pad. My 12ga has now been relegated to back up since with this set up I find the Gen 3 much more flexible especially in close quarters and it is also easily transported in a back pack with spare mags. With the green laser it can even be effectively fired tucked in from the hip day or night.
Thanks for sharing 👍
Issues with the holster? The front sight seems so much taller.
No issues observed up in here.
We got rain in del rio once.
I remember that...
man, thank you! SERIOUSLY My heater started leaking last night and I am stressing about it, but I think its the same issue you describe here so Ill give this a shot.
Good luck!
Looks like a serious project. Keep up the good work bro.

This has to be the worst optic review i’ve ever watched. Anyone who takes you seriously is not educated in any way and you are definitely not helping. I learned absolutely nothing about this optic from your “review” 🙄
Stay tuned for the next episode!
@@JayLewisFarmStyleAre you reviewing the space shuttle next?
A Radian Ramjet would be cool for the GX4, but that requires their own barrel and would cost a hundred bucks more than the gun.
That would be cool!
I have an old Springfield, Steven’s 87a are they worth very much?
According to the urine scented back alleys of gunbroker .com, folks are asking from $279-$500 for the ones currently listed. The one from this video was purchased for $100 in barely working condition from a friend that needed money several years ago. Personally I'd say $200-$250 would be the reasonable asking price for a good working example.
Did your flush fit magazine come with a little pinky extension you can put on if you want a place for your pinky?
I believe it did, but can't say for certain. I surplused the Max-9 a couple years ago with the box containing all the little doo-dads out came with. Thanks for watching 👍
Your discount code is coming up invalid
It expired somewhere along the way. I asked them for a new one, but haven't received it yet.
New code: GATLOG7R
I just bought one in 375. The stock fits like a saddle on a sow. Same issues as above.
I'm not sure if you saw or not but we have an entire playlist on this rifle. A lot has happened since this video aired. We fixed the rifle, and now it's a real shooter. If the stock holds together and doesn't swell as others have reported that is. Bedding was probably 90% of the issue. These Green Mountain laminate stocks just don't seem to be of good quality. I wish they were, because I think they're beautiful but I can see me replacing it with a different stock someday. Good luck on your rifle.
@ I watched the whole series. Thank you for posting it. I would have bought a Savage. But I’ll get this one fixed
@161Sheriff the M77 really is a nice rifle platform and I think you will be more happy with it than you would be with just some other bolt gun once you get the bugs fixed, but it is unfortunate to have to do so much work on a rifle that cost that much just to get it to shoot straight.
Arguably an optic is more value on a short sight radius pistol than a larger model.
You're not wrong there. My biggest issue with optics on tiny guns is the tiny part. If I'm carrying a tiny gun for convenience, I find adding dimension to it (extended magazine, light, optic etc...) to be counter- productive (FOR ME). I've got a few little guns with accessories on them and find they just don't get carried as often as something I can slip into a pocket holster. Up until recently that usually was my Sig P365. I am presently working on a long term review for my P365. It's going to have a catchy click-bait title like "My P365 Finally Failed!" or something lame like that. Something did go sideways with it, but nothing that would have stopped it from working in a gun fight. I took it out of EDC rotation until I get it fixed up just the same. I miss the tiny profile of it. As diminutive as it is I have trained with it enough to be very confident in its carry. Thanks for watching 👍
@JayLewisFarmStyle Good points as always, looking forward to the saga of the failed 365, although you've pretty much sold me on the GX4, although I'll probably go Carry model, they're a steal with the present rebate and will pair nicely with the TX-22 Compact.
Did you ever consider trying a Hogue grip sleeve on the GX4?
I'm not opposed to it, but my cheap rearend normally uses pieces of bicycle innertube.
@JayLewisFarmStyle That's a step too far into economy for me, I'd skip Starbucks for awhile and spring for the $14.
Great review, I have astigmatism too, that optic would be useless to me. Think the 6 MOA green dot is the best option.
I recently reviewed the Gowutar HHC17G. It has a 3MOA dot that was very visible.
@JayLewisFarmStyle Thanks I'll check that review out, I've been binging your GX4 catalog.
@FrankMcDonnell-v1o that GX4 is still rock solid. I've been EDC carrying it for a while now since something went sideways with my P365... (Shhhhhh, that's an upcoming video).
@@JayLewisFarmStyle Look forward to it.
Wouldn’t you know, mine went out last night (Christmas Eve.) I’m now having to wait until Thursday to get my fat butt to Home Depot 😆. My lower element crashed and I think it somehow shorted my upper thermostat or vice versa. After watching your video, I’m just gonna replace everything since 40<600 bucks 😆. I hope everyone’s Christmas was a little better than mine. Thanx for the video.
I spent the past 3 days repiping my kitchen. Had a water leak behind the cabinets. Replaced everything, and left the wall open to dry out for a bit. +/- $700. It happens... Merry Christmas!
@@JayLewisFarmStyle Yeah, sometimes life will throw a curve at ya when ya least expect it. Merry Christmas to you and yours as well.
@larrymansfield9393 when things go to smoothly I start to get worried brother...
How do you turn off lock out mode
What are you referring to as lockout mode?
How well does it work on other guns/sights? Like a m&p or sig front sight.
It depends on the height of the slide. I used it on the S&W M&P 2.0 10mm and Shield Plus without issue. It also worked for Taurus GX4, G3 series and PSA Dagger. Walther PDP was too tall.
When you start to get sick Mega dose vitamin c 1000 mg with rose hips which help absorption

I tried to put spring kit in new savage axis but it does not have threaded part to put the screw in for new spring, just a hole no threads!! Any ideas
Thread the hole?
@ wonder if they stopped threading them so people could not put spring kits in them or something on new ones
@stevenhicks815 no idea. The one in our video was a very early Axis 1.
@@JayLewisFarmStyle yes I just bought this one month ago maybe changed it! Maybe do a timney trigger 😩

Just a note I have had a 600 for 54 years great gun if you hand load for varmints try the nosier ballistic tip 55 grain with h 380 powder you’ll be right at 3700 FPS with around a 1 inch group devastating on ground hogs give it a try enjoy

Excellent video, but you may want to wear a mask when spraying, I'm sure those particulates aren't meant to be inhaled.
I'm sure you're right about that. Thanks for watching 👍
What height are those rings and are the express sights visible through them
If you go to Alaska Arms website and put the parameters in the filter for the scope you will be using he will recommend the correct set of rings to you. I went with a Leupold VX-3 HD 3.5-10X40mm and we used the "high" rings which are made to accommodate up to 42mm objective. The designation high is a little deceptive as they aren't any higher than what they're stated to fit. Example: the rings to accommodate a 50mm objective are listed as "extra high". With this setup the express sights are not visible at all across the magnification range. Here's a link to the rings I used: alaskaarmsllc.com/products/ruger-scope-ring-set-blued-finish-1-inch-high-right-levers-r41rr51r
@JayLewisFarmStyle appreciate it!
The SD40VE was my first gun and it shoots great fed it anything and never had an issue, I keep it clean and lubed after every range session.
Thanks for sharing 👍
RXM is the way
How long have you had the RXM? Have you done a video?
What height scope rings do you use? I don't like co-witnessing the express sights on my hawkeye. I'm sure it depends on the scope as well, but curious what you use.
I think I just answered this on your other comment however I'll elaborate a little here. The express sights are not visible at all with this setup using this ring: alaskaarmsllc.com/products/ruger-scope-ring-set-blued-finish-1-inch-high-right-levers-r41rr51r with this scope: www.leupold.com/vx-3hd-3-5-10x40-cds-zl-duplex-riflescope
@@JayLewisFarmStyle awesome thanks!
Are you sure that sling is only an inch and a quarter? It looks like the thickness of a military sling and they are 1 3/4". Just curious. Looks great on the rifle. Personally, I would have gone with a lighter shade of tan to match the stock color, but that's just me.
I measured it this morning, it is just under an inch and a quarter at 1.18". Thanks for watching and merry Christmas!
@@JayLewisFarmStyle right back at cha.
Thanks Jay! I was glad to be of service and glad you’re enjoying your new Mason Leather gear on your Hawkeye! Happy Hunting!
Thanks brother! Merry Christmas!
For a price of over 1600 dollars, that is ridiculous accuracy and weathering. What a piece of excrement!
This video was part one of a series on this rifle. We've now completed six videos on this rifle, so a lot has happened with it. By part five we had the rifle consistently grouping sub-MOA. We still have work to do on the finish to stop the corrosion. Thanks for watching 👍
Excellent video and honest no frills review, very helpful, thank you.
Thanks for watching 👍
This has been a great story, and somewhat encouraging for me. I bought a Ruger Hawkeye Alaskan in 375 Ruger earlier this year and it has not been an easy road. I would have bought another CZ 550 but they don't make them any more (and never offered stainless to my knowledge). Accuracy is mediocre (1.5 to 2 inches at 100). Ammo testing is expensive, 30-06 is cheap compared to 375. But, the biggest disappointment to me was that the irons were too far off to be useful (and can't be adjusted vertically). I hope you will try yours at some point. I am thinking about taking mine to a gunsmith for a bedding job. Like you, I expected a little better for the money. Thanks for your quality content, I'll keep an eye out for you )
Glad you enjoyed the series. I think the bedding job was paramount to our success. Do you, or do you plan to handload the .375? I almost purchased a .375 Ruger instead of the 30-06, but as I already have 3 rifles chambered in .375 H&H I simply couldn't justify it. I always wanted a CZ 550 Safari magnum in .458 Win Mag. Thanks for sharing and good luck👍
@@JayLewisFarmStyle I bought a die set- mostly as insurance, since the cartridge doesn't seem to have much traction so far, but haven't reloaded it yet. I'm still on the fence as to whether this one is a "keeper" or not. Joseph Von Benedikt (Backcountry Hunting Podcast) gave it a solid review on his channel. I needed help removing the rear sight which I will replace. If that works out, maybe I'll work up some loads. I like how you stuck with it and made it right, just not sure if I'm quite as determined )
@Rick-j6x completely understandable. Col. Whelen is credited as to coining the phrase "Only accurate rifles are interesting." Now whether or not he was the first person to say it, we'll never know but in this modern world of CNC/CAD designed $500 rifles shooting .5 MOA it reinforces the idea and is more true now than ever. Generally speaking with modern rifles if they don't shoot well out of the box I'll lose interest pretty quick. An exception would be my Turkish made Stevens 334 wasn't perfect out of the box. It required a little help to get it consistently shooting tight little groups, but it also wasn't a week's salary. I realize the M77 is a special rifle with some features desired by the dangerous game crowd (express sights, controlled round feed, stainless material, weather proof stock). I think it is this potential that made me invest the effort into the rifle rather than cutting my losses early on. Even today there are a few things I need to do to it to get the fly out of the ointment so to speak. Most pressing would be the CeraKote finish to stop the ever prevalent rust issues on the barreled action. Of note: the bolt does not have the same rust issues. I love listening to Joseph Von Benedikt and Ron Spomer. They are reminiscent of some of the old school gun writers which is something that I aspired to be as a kid. Ushered in with the 21st century, the role of the article writer has kind of gone by the wayside in favor of the Vlog. I first saw this about 15-16 years ago with Jeff Quinn and his Gunblast publication. I saw the transition and figured at the time that it would be the way of the future. Before that I never saw myself sitting in front of a camera and talking about something that I was much more comfortable putting on paper. I'm a bit OCD, and it took time to get over trying to be a perfectionist with the productions. Now I've made peace with not only making mistakes during filming but also leaving them in the finished work. Painting the portrait warts and all so to speak. Thanks again for being a part of this 👍
Thanks for the video J
Thanks for watching Sammy 👍

Yeah I know... been meaning to swap it out. I intended to review that Dagger. The video never happened. Maybe it's not too late.
@ never too late. I don’t think they’re worth it now the price has jumped. I had plans to buy a couple more of them. The price is close enough now. I’ll just get the real thing.
