Man this video brings back memories. It is a great time when you recoginze your fellow RI's in a video on RUclips. As fare as anyone being able to say who is better, unless you have been there on both side of the fence, no one can make a determination, every thing is nothing but circumstantial. It truly falls on your personal beliefs.
I see many arguments over which branch is better. Some say Army, some say Marines. In truth, there should be no arguments. We should just learn to praise EVERY branch for their service to our glorious and free nation. People like them built this country from the ground, up into the world super power. Sure, the government structures our nation, and holds the ideals of freedom (maybe not currently as great as it used too), but its the soldiers who fight for these ideals to make them possible. Don't just thank a military branch. Thank the entire military.
I agree. Sure, some branches are more trained, some branches specialize in different areas, but none are BETTER than the others. We have all of them to thank and be grateful for, and all of them put their lives on the line to protect our country. I thank them, and so should everyone else.
Man this video brings back memories. It is a great time when you recoginze your fellow RI's in a video on RUclips. As fare as anyone being able to say who is better, unless you have been there on both side of the fence, no one can make a determination, every thing is nothing but circumstantial.
Hey I was watching this video because all my life I was not sure about joining the Army Rangers, but now after watching that video I am now sure of joining because of 3 reasons. 1. My Family 2. This Video and 3.I want to support my country any way I can. Thank you Army Rangers for your service to our country!!
damn this looks amazing i wish thy would organize a fun ''parkour'' of this like climbing buildings , breaching doors , sitting in a helicopter , amazing i respect these guys
I am a prior Recon Marine, and I can tell you that not many Marines are cut out for Recon. The intensity of the training and the stress is too much. With that being said, I had a team leader who was one of the only 2 Marines in my company that had been selected to go to Ranger school. According to him, Ranger school was so difficult that he estimated that only 10% of the Marines in our battalion could survive the experience and graduate, earning the tile of Recon Ranger. USMC 1992~1996.
I was in the 2nd Ranger Bn when Jimmy Carter was the President..The Army in general was in sad shape, except for SF,The Ranger Bn's,The 82nd ABN,and the 101st..After Reagan became President, the first thing he did was give everyone about a 20% raise in pay..At the time I was an E-3 making about $550 a month, plus jump pay ..The whole attitude of the Army changed when He took office..The rest of the Infantry Div's improved 100%..Becoming a Ranger was a lifetime honor that I've never forgotten
@jason7456 Good luck to you! I'm finishing my semester at the college I'm going to, then plan on going to the Army. Definitely going to push for Ranger School.
@wafflecushioned well, a ranger tab is aloud to any branch of military basicly. thats why most of the generals you see now adays. (marines and army generals) have there airborne, special forces, and ranger tab MOST likely. Ranger training is open to most people and also to become marine force recon, you must pass ranger school.
@MrUSMC17761 Idk exactly what you have to go through to be under force recon but there's an insane amount of requirements for Ranger school. First of all you have to qualify at Airborne school, next you have pre-RASP, then RASP, followed by pre-RIP, and then RIP, and then you can finally start the hell which is Ranger school. It takes a long time and A LOT of dedication. There's a reason why it has been said that Rangers have the toughest training in the world.
@jamesisheredw Both are used quit a bit, but for different reasons. Infantry Marines conduct regular infantry operations similar to Army Infantry ( MOS:11X) except Marines enter the fight sooner. Rangers on the other hand are a SOF unit and therefore conduct Spec-Ops missions primarily. There's a lot of Spec-Ops missions that take place, but we probably won't ever hear of them. It comes down to what you truly want. Spec-Ops or Badass Marine. Both = Super Soldier! Pick your poison...
This is true. My father was in the Korean army and was sent to Ranger school in Ft. Benning, where I also went when I entered the US Army 8 years ago. Hooah.
i say both the army and marines are bad ass cause they serve america so if your a hooah or and ura i still look up to these brave men that sacrifice there lives for this beautiful country
Here's some friendly advice, their are few who will do this, don't be nervous keep your goal in sight don't let any one say "you can't" as long as you are in shape and aren't some mental patient (pvt pyle from FMJ) you will be just fine but joining the Army is a huge step so make sure this is what you want to do. If you join for the wrong reasons it will suck so much ass. I know this I joined the Marines for the wrong reason at first then I found a goal and it's awesome as fuck.
@XXRANGERSXX75th exactly right. i mean ill disagree a little bit cause the marines actually dont just sit behind us i mean, rangers go in first with airborne usally yes but marines are right behind them for backup. and thank you.
Hey when you do go good luck. Im in high scool and im going to the Naval Academy to begin my career in trying to become a SEAL. I think whatever I put my mind to I can do :) You should think the same it helps.
Hope you get it. Make sure to ask for the Option 40 in your contract. If memory serves, it gives you Jump School and Ranger school almost guaranteed (although nothing is what it seems to be.) All you'll have to do is pass the pre-req's and hope you get selected. Best of luck to you. It's quite an experience.
@VDJEcKz i agree the scary ass thing is though is that every corner you turn and every door you open takes you one step closer to your grave that will be filled with pain and LED :(
@TheOlympiaLowlife Air Force Para-Rescuemen are the biggest badasses I can think of, When the Rangers or Seals get in trouble, they are the guys that go pick em up, Not quite as well known as Seals or Rangers though.
At least in '92 ~ '96, joining Recon didn't have shit to do with how many deployments one had done. I went Recon directly out of School of Infantry, so, yes, to clarify Recon was my first dusty station. At that time, any grunt that could pass an indoc, which I had done could end up in Recon. But this was just the beginning of proving one's self to the unit. Oh yeah, I happened to be part of 3 Recon units: 3rd Recon BN 92~93, 9th Mar Recon Co 93~94, and 3rd Mar Div Recon Co 94~95
thanks alot i value your opinion cause i wasnt sure if i was going to be killed within the first minute of battle but now i know they are so well trained it takes alot to kill them waht about seals and green berets? same goes for them right?
To jamesisheredw, its not really about which branch is best, it all depends in the commander in chief which is the president, the marines are technically the infantry for the navy since they don't got 1, and SEALs, SWCC,SERE etc. are the navys special operations teams, army has an infantry, but rangers is different compared to infantry, they perform difficult missions, same as the marines do, cause rangers and marines are the same to each other, they perform the same missions...
@sh0rter Rangers are elite units. Technically special forces are strictly an army term for the Green Berets. The rest, such as seals and what not are special operations. Just a difference in terms.
I dont say "Oh this is easy" I say "Oh this is possible" Cuz i know training will never be easy, but you gotta push out the "Oh i cant do this" factor when it gets the toughest, cuz you know that if you push yourself, it will always be possible. In 8 years after I get outta college im catching my first ride on an Army bus to take my shot as an airborn Ranger. Rangers Lead the Way! Hooah!!!!
@chetty31111 I agree, a basic marine is not as good as a ranger. Each branch has its special forces/Ranger type units. Rangers specialize in infantry and ambush tactics. Marines have there own versions of these school. The Army was the first tho and i will leave it at that.
Jump school (Airborne) isn't exactly easy, but it is easier than Ranger school. Be prepared to run... EVERYWHERE when you go through jump school. My advice to you when it comes to a branch.. Go with the branch that is willing to offer you the job that you want. Who care's what anyone else thinks about a particular branch? They're all there to defend the country. Best of luck to you. Army strong!
in all of the military you must be in wichever part of military that spec ops team is off for a year minimum, and for that you must be recomended by a CO
I'm a United States Marine of about three years.. and I will tell you honestly that I think army rangers are some badass dudes. To all of you not in the armed forces, please don't stress your opinion. Let me put it this way.. You wouldn't want to train how rangers do, and you sure as hell wouldn't want to train like we do
hey thanks alot man that deffently helps me think more about it and the only rthing im worried about is going into combat and getting killied in action but i realize thats a risk im willing to take, cause my big bro is in the navy and he really wants me to go in the navy i think the reason is because he dosnt want me to go out and die or somethin but if theres anything else u can tell me about being a ranger that would be great:D
haha yea its pretty complex, but my dad was SF in Vietnam so I sorta know the deal... I just love how they use rage against the machine as the background music for a military training video, if they were dead, they would be spinning in their graves
It is so ironic to hear this song on this video.
this is kinda true lol.

Don't be afraid to make your dream a reality. Work hard, train hard, and never give up, and you can be a Ranger someday too.
Awsome!! I have tons of respect for Rangers!!
damn this looks amazing i wish thy would organize a fun ''parkour'' of this like climbing buildings , breaching doors , sitting in a helicopter , amazing i respect these guys
I remember my time in training. Us rangers will never forget brotherhood, but forget fear
Never knew the Us Army Rangers used Land Rovers. Nice to see we share our vehicles with the US.
I am a prior Recon Marine, and I can tell you that not many Marines are cut out for Recon. The intensity of the training and the stress is too much. ENJOY IT , i did it , it starts with the cross rifle and the blue chord, then a c.i.b and on and on .GODSPEED
I wonder if there's an adventure camp like this where civilians and folk who can't actually become a ranger can experience all that epicness.
Flutter kicks until hell freezes over!!!!

Great vid, interesting choice of song, when you consider RATM's stance on the US military. Its all good though. :-)
nice video there.. good job!
@aplleandpei I want to be a Ranger but I give props to you man Seals go fucking hard.
i say both the army and marines are bad ass cause they serve america so if your a hooah or and ura i still look up to these brave men that sacrifice there lives for this beautiful country
Thanks to all those who served and thanks many times over to all those who served and never came home. F the song on this video.

@TheRebelliousChild I here ya on that. It takes a superior human being than 99% of the world to become a US Army Ranger.
i respect all of our U.S. soliders.
@amdsoccer94 you can enlist whenever you want all you need is either a ged or a high school diploma and a parent/guardian signature.
Perfect song ...

@snipes000 me too, i cant decide whether to try for the Marines or Rangers.
God, I want that Ranger patch.
i got my R.I.P. contract back in may, i leave for basic sept. 16 then airborne then rangers cant wait babyyy
@VDJEcKz i agree the scary ass thing is though is that every corner you turn and every door you open takes you one step closer to your grave that will be filled with pain and LED :(
SEALS,RANGERS,DELTA killing machines
@TheOlympiaLowlife
Air Force Para-Rescuemen are the biggest badasses I can think of, When the Rangers or Seals get in trouble, they are the guys that go pick em up, Not quite as well known as Seals or Rangers though.

TRUE. But you have to remember, delta was originally supposed to be secret
thanks alot i value your opinion cause i wasnt sure if i was going to be killed within the first minute of battle but now i know they are so well trained it takes alot to kill them waht about seals and green berets? same goes for them right?

it's very different from the Spetsnaz training but both are very good and intense.
i am a ranger....only one with iron determination....qualified to be one!
All I want to be is in the 75th Ranger Regiment. Definitively going to try for a RANGER contract!
@chetty31111 I agree, a basic marine is not as good as a ranger. Each branch has its special forces/Ranger type units. Rangers specialize in infantry and ambush tactics. Marines have there own versions of these school. The Army was the first tho and i will leave it at that.

0:34 is our patented super secret sleeping exercise only the elite can do it. Nice video overall though. God bless our troops.
one of my buddies is becoming a ranger and is being deployed to Afghanistan in 2 months... hope he doesnt get hurt.
haha yea its pretty complex, but my dad was SF in Vietnam so I sorta know the deal...
SAS- British Special Air Service
SEALS- part of the US Navy
Green Berets- 3 elite battalions of the US Army, basically divided up into regular SF (badasses) and a small group of Delta Force operators (complete badasses)
@CaptainPlanet117. Also my best friend/brother is a marine, so I love and respect the marines. It's common knowledge, especially with more educated service persons that marines can't touch Rangers. @RemboRS4 You want to? Pro tip: Don't go to Ranger School, I don't care what others say, you go to RASP(Ranger Assessment and Selection Process) to become a Ranger, by completing Ranger School, it just means you are Ranger "Qualified" basically, all you get is the tab, by completing RASP, you get the Ranger scroll, and are sent off to a 75th Regiment unit.
Rage Against The Machine playing background music to a Ranger video. Irony at its finest.
Bravest of the brave!
@XxPiMPiNPiNoYxX OH YEAH LOL. Think of the PJs as their rescue squad. They are the only members of the DoD specifically organized, trained and equipped to conduct personnel recovery operations in hostile or denied areas as a primary mission.
Cant wait to join the army hopefully infantry then if im good enough this shit
@shaynethetrain Thanks for the tip!
@jackpwnage117 You are aware that the training Rangers or Seals go through is far more intense than what Marines go through, Marines aren't special forces, and arent trained to the same degree. Now Force Recon Marines are special forces, and endure some pretty brutal training, But your average Marine Infantry, their training isnt on the same level as special forces.
But like I said before, I agree completely, anyone who serves in any branch, regardless of their MOS, Deserves respect.
@vivebeme You can't be both at the same time. I recently joined the Army, and my MOS is in the Rangers, but after a few years I plan on applying for SFAS.
@CVPI95 Ranger school will only get you a Ranger tab (Ranger school is a leadership course.), you want to go to RASP to get into the 75th Ranger Regiment, best way to do that is to ask your recruiter for an option 40 in your contract, which will guarantee you a spot in Airborne school, and RASP.
You could also get an option 4 which guarantees you a spot for Airborne school, and there's a chance that Rangers will be trying to recruit people there. But your best bet is option 40.
Well, fortunately I can try to get into ESTSOF ... which is my countries special operation force... if I can get in it's training will be pretty hard I thought that I will start training this spring ....
good song choice :)
I am 14 and I live in Canada and I cant wait to have the Ranger badge on my shoulder
I just love how they use rage against the machine as the background music for a military training video, if they were dead, they would be spinning in their graves
