He is a genius and he's a great writer but by his own admission he just decided to remake the twilight zone. Because that is essentially just what it is.
@King Delevingne It's not just trying to be a hipster, honestly his own writing and delivery in earlier stuff is still amazing. I wish there was more wipes but can't begrudge his success stopping him from having the time
Jonny G Isn't that the whole point behind the popularity of the emoji? For people who can't use words adequately to get their point across? Sure they've become mainstream and are a lot of fun but ultimately people who don't have the vocab to convey what they want to say can now rely on the extensive choice of the emoji, and rely on them they do. In this case the BBC are telling the people who need telling, in their language, that this is light hearted and entertainment. Pretty damn pathetic really, don't you think?!
I think the BBC feared that, based on the title, people might assume that they're going to see a serious emotional speech about how depressed Charlie Brooker is, with him literally crying in the middle of the video. Like what you would see on Oprah Winfrey.
Considering the success and innovation of Black Mirror, I can see how this somewhat cynical thinking caused him to write some brutally nightmarish episodes.
I could really get behind this idea. However, realizing this guy created Black Mirror, and he’s quite successful in some particular way, and opposite of that is me, just sitting on my couch, I don’t know if I’m comforted by this. It actually makes me more depressed.
I was going to say it's comforting at least that you haven't achieved much so I can relate to you, but realising that you wrote this insightful comment which has garnered 6 likes, I don't know if I'm comforted by this. It actually makes me more depressed.

I feel like the people in control of this channel are aware of the general concensus regarding the emojis in the thumbnails, but its not going to stop them. They're probably even considering overlaying the emoji onto the actual videos 😂😭
I agree and I'd add that any complaining will likely mean they'll do it more. It's probably some unpaid intern, who is doing it for the experience and to get their foot in the door.
I think the vast majority of us Americans that know who Charlie is know him from the Doug Stanhope clips on Newswipe. Charlie is a cool dude, quite funny

actually 20% of it is awful, if you make it because so many of us don't, the other remaining 80% is basically a downhill slope ride or fall for some where you get old and cranky and have worse memory (not necessarily), eventually having to die either of a virus or natural causes i.e. prostate cancer (very common).
I thought Franks reply was actually great. Although I do agree with Charlie. What I find in my life is that if it was completely up to me I would hardly do anything at all. My job forces me to socialise which I wouldnt do much of without my job, so I know my job is good for my overall wellbeing in this way. My girlfriend also has me doing all sorts of activities that I would rather not do but I do them probably so I can have sex with her and keep having sex with her ha, and I usually enjoy the activities when I do them, even though I would of rather not done them, that was Franks answer with the bonfire, which I thought was really good, but again I share Charlies view of life quite strongly.
Quick! Black mirror is out... Let’s reload old clips with Charlie Brooker.
Yeah this is how trends work mate. What's new?
