Yes I think part of it is that the "white race" is not a homogeneous group as white nationalists like to pretend. It's an artificial lumping together of different ethnicity, constructed originally by white supremacists. Obviously there are ways in which having pale skin affects your life but there's no such thing as "the white race".

For example, my skin/ biological attribute is black(race), my ethnicity is African, and my nationality is American. However someone who is very fair skinned and white passing can be referred as white for their race and African American for their ethnicity and nationality like previously seen in slave times.

It's just about where you grew up, and what your culture is.

Neither are very important. Cursive is pretty much irrelevant now that typing is the new norm. A lot of schools don’t even teach it anymore.
However learning sign language won’t be very useful unless you have a deaf family member or deaf friends. Most people will probably end up forgetting sign language from rarely using using it. Learning sign language should be an opinion, not a requirement.
