Gary Crandall I agree!!!!! I watched a video last night of a guy who had his pittie at a swimming pool. The dog was whining to get into the pool, the guy kept holding the dog's mouth closed. But, he would lean down to kiss the dog on the head. Then, he forcefully turned the dog around to keep the dog from seeing the pool, and each time the dog tried to turn to see the pool, the guy kind of kneed the dog. Then, a woman had the dog tied up for whatever reason, and kept yelling at the dog. Then, they had a swing hanging from a tree, and they let the dog grab the swing, then jerk its body, trying to pull the swing down. I didn't see any real love for this dog, and the things the people were doing to the dog are the kinds of things done to them to train them to be aggressive.

The guy in the video I'm referring to was just mean to,that dog, I felt. I've seen how pitties are trained to fight, and although this guy's dog was gentle, he should be glad the dog didn't turn on him.
How would I know if a dog has been mistreated so I can avoid one? There are things as predisposition, instinct and breeding that will have a dog attack. Sorry you don't know that.

This is how my two sleep. Snoring, tongue out, on their back. They get up off the sofa to run to the door when someone knocks to give them hugs and kisses. I actually think if someone broke in the house the would welcome them...lol

Today I was walking past cash converters and happened to see a pit bull outside waiting for her master. Once she noticed me, she started wagging her tail in excitement and laid on her back exposing her tummy. I pet her for 30 minutes.

I have an american pitbull terrier. She is lovely and sweet. Something i observe though is that when she is playing, she plays a bit more rough and with more energy. That can be intimidating for other dogs and there starts the perception of them still being aggressive even though they are not used for fighting and are not trained to be aggressors.
Love begets love. It is the people not the pets that are cruel and demented. These are loving, trusting dogs that only ask for that in return. For the ignorant that rale against pitties, you need to check yourself and get educated.

Also, an aggression test showed that pit bulls were the second least aggressive, 92% of dogs tested passed the test. People train them to be aggressive because that’s what they’re known for. They don’t deserve that reputation.
