Mellie play a good part playing the scolded wife. She wanted to be in the Whitehouse any price. if that means pimping out her husband Olivia deserves the leading part . Now her marriage to Fitz, she had a choice. She didnt even want kids. She should have walked away. Fitz never took away her purpose, she gave it up. Thankfully she reclaimed it. But honestly by default because Fitz left her. She should have left
To be fair I think she was still a Christian republican at the time. I don’t think she’d be willing to abort even if it was 100% Jerry’s child. Plus even tho their marriage was semi arranged I think they did fall in love with each other eventually. The rape just took away any chance of intimacy sadly
