I really enjoy how you travelled. You don't see a lot of tourists stopping in Hunedoara.
I hope everything in Romania was enjoyable and nice for you. Sorry you came too late for the Transfagarasan. It's usually open from June to the start of November, but with climate change these times are changing and it might even open in May if it's hot enough to melt the snow.
Also we call the beetle you saw "Rădașcă". The guy is totally harmless. The big horns on the front are for duelling with other males by throwing each other off branches. They don't have the force needed to even slightly hurt you even if you put your finger in their horns. Symbolizes power and fecundity. They can also fly btw.

Leu is the singular form of the currency, so you only say it for 1, lei is the plural and you say it from >2, it's just like pound/s euro/s dollar/s
