Im gonna be straight honest. That entity telling survivors hints about the trials sound actually good and amazing

Always thought it would be cool if there was a “story mode” where each survivor got their own “escape the killer” scenario personalized to their stories

even with how it is today, with the "auto web" aka still having to click endlessly for 10 minutes at least, to get a prestige, is insane and very poorly made.

Also that concept with the entity speaking and leaving messages in the trial sounds SICK, I would love to see that!
It would be cool if instead it was the past survivors telling them (since they scrapped it since the entity is going to be this malignant a$$ thing with no remorse and not help the survivors) they could just make it as if they were left there by other survivors in the last trial or something. That would be super cool as part of a multiverse idea about anytime you di3 in a trial, it’s one outcome of a multiverse( or I forgot exact what bhvr said exactly. ) but I digress; they are from the last survival of the trial before them etc. it would be a neat idea that they left them as clues or, as stated, telling you information instead of a hud.

Its pretty crazy how they had all these amazing / expensive ideas . But at the end of the day they gave us such a minimalistic game that in their eyes was not supossed to be a big success
I think that they were just prioritizing making a functional game and so it's understandable that most of the more ambitious content was cut from the final thing
i swear old BHVR were way more ambitious back then.
tbf, old BHVR didn’t have the pressure on them back then that they do now. They didn’t need to worry hugely about stability, new content, balance, etc. They were just making a game that seemed cool to them and were probably just rolling with features and ideas.
True, but we have to keep in mind that, for most games, the most ambitious content is the first to be cut, since it's usually a bigger priority to create a functional game before adding crazy stuff to it
They were a small company back then, they even said that in the beginning, they weren't expecting this game to blow up like this, now they're way bigger and more serious, focusing on getting more money
they didn't put the sewer pipes in because it wasn't that shrimple

I've always wanted enviromental Moris in the game, like there's an object in each realm that if you down a survivor near it you get the option to mori the survivor with that object, for example a broken pipe you can stab someone with, a liquid hydrogen tub you use to freeze and then shatter the survivor etc.
They definitely need to do a crossover with Mortal Kombat and get a little more creative with their moris!

tbh with lightsout they did get rid of the ui, and i think it would be cool to not have, in some type of alternate mode, so maybe they can revive it completely in the future
I always love when UI elements makes sense within the world (like in Dead Space for example).
But in a PvP game where so many incontrollable thing could happen because of player interactions, it would've been a nightmare to implement.
I think this concept could've worked fairly well for 2016 DBD since the game was not as fast-paced as it is today, but even then, the old HUD was probably the better decision
Honestly the in-game lobby would've been hella sick
They kinda DID go back to the idea of the Entity occasionally helping survivors. Stuff like the gen kick limit is clearly the Entity's intervention, and the anti camp you could construe that way also.
I've gotta say, the actual visuals for the gen kick limit are incredibly cool, they fit the style of the game pretty well imo

7:34 I really like the idea of this, actually. The game is probably too fast paced for it.. but I love the idea of the entity telling survivors things, helping them, showing them hiding spots, etc.
i can imagine survivors needing to sit by the campfire to ready up while leaving their held items by the side or on their lap
As a videogames beta enthusiast AND DBD being one of my favorite games, I love this type of videos of u showing beta/alpha/scrapped DBD stuff, it's always interesting and fun to watch

The Entity actively telling Survivors information is actually quite an awesome idea, especially when the game was originally FAR more focused on the horror aspect compared to now, where horror is almost non-existent.
It even makes sense lore-wise since the whole point is that the Entity is pretty much farming us, which is why we get less points by just finishing matches quickly. It makes sense for the Entity to sometimes help US actively remain alive to extend the farming.
Old BHVR was fun and cared greatly. New BHVR is a bot.

I think that bloodweb idea could've worked, you could have each node represent Healing, Lighting and Toiling, with entering the node giving you one medkit, flashlight and toolkit and three random add-ons for said item, with offerings picked up along the way. Then, you have Perks as unique nodes you can see from the start to let you plan your path towards it. With the option to automatically fill in the web as a hook altar in the center to flood the web with your blood, of course.
the entity whisper thing looks so fucking cool, same with an ingame lobby. wish we got those
the shrimp playing poker thing isnt completely random. They use it to say in roundabout that the sewers on swamp felt out of place, and thats why it didnt make the final cut. Just like shrimps playing poker is incredibly out of place.
The way to counter the old hook sabotages was basement plays and Maschine gun builds
In early lobby concepts, this idea kinda similara to Identity V lobby system in which you can interact at various things to access like shops, match, party etc. And if i'm correct, behaviour is involved in Identity V too and maybe that's why that concept was in that game
The 3d blood web, the entity message mechanic, the actual interactive lobby that could have had plenty of features of its own..man this game could have been so much better. They refuse to innovate its been the same thing for 8 years
Kind of just how games as a service works if the game gets successful, they can't mess too much with the core of it and they can't make a sequel. Look at TF2, I got bored of that ten years ago and apparently it's still going strong somehow.

Man the lobby being 3D interaction would be a fun little thing when you’re waiting for a game
In other words, a decent majority of their concepts, even the old map graphics/designs gave off a horror vibe, now they’ve pretty much moved away from making it a horror game. Which it really bums me out considering the amount of potential and iconic horror characters. I’m hoping for a Dead By Daylight 2 in the future that touches more on this!

I just started playing dbd this 2024 and after discovering hook sabotage i literally thought i could just destroy all hooks until nothing left 😂

So many cool systems lost in development. A shame, most of them would have been really unique and awesome to have in the game. Even helpful for new players (like the whispers of the entity one)
so the 3D bloodweb would have been like the Sphere Grid from Final Fantasy 10

my theory for the sewer not being implemented might be for the way they make maps, i mean all maps are relatively flat, yea theres maps with indoor floors, but think about it, apart from some assets all maps are flat af, if they added a sewer they would need to model a hole map to be slanted and have a thing where one side of the map is higher than the other, the swamp is the only map that has a diference on terrain and even then, its a rare one with only 2 maps for swamp, so in general i think they just didnt like over all the idea of working on maps that were slanted and such, they rather have flat maps
and swamp also has only some elevations on the edges, if you have hills in DBD (like on coldwind or yamaoka or ormond sometimes even) they are all the same asset and really really small, not taking alot of space. + They said in some stream maps are the hardest thing for them to code, hence why many chapters released without a map.
this is an unpopular opinion but the 3d bloodweb would actually been kinda cool for me personally, much more interactive for sure. And it would also be immersive as anything and be it even tiny little details is wraped up into the Lore of DBD
It would've definitely been really cool, the only problem with it was that purchasing items would've been really slow, if they had made it relatively quick then it would probably be alright

I'd do wish they'd add the 3D lobby. They ended up using that idea for Deathgarden, or should I say wasting it on Deathgarden because that game had trash gameplay.

I just wanted to let you know that DBD mobile's maps are very outdated even with them having skull merchant in the game
They have a very early version of cold wind and crotus prenn asylum
And probably other maps
Dbd mobile overall is actually a really interesting mix of old and new dbd, I quite like it

I kinda miss the original sabotage and hook mechanics, going in as a sabo user while my team did the gens was a fun mix-up. Though yeah its not balanced at all and how it works now is better, but i still miss it lol
