So glad you enjoyed Cemetery Man. It's a masterpiece of visual stimulae. In terms of Michelè Soavi being Argento's protege-----, the student surpassed the master.
Check out The Sect, The Church, and Stagefright (if you haven't already).
    Happy to see you back!

Great films. Black Sunday is my all time favorite horror film. Corruption of Chris Miller is such a hidden gem.

Also a great exploitative flick from 1977 is Michael 'Death Wish' Winner's THE SENTINEL A star studded sleazy romp with great MakeUp FX by Dick Smith.

Just Before Dawn has one of the great villain takedowns by the final girl of almost any film.

Constance is such a unique Final G. She has like 5 or 6 stages of growth that are so satisfying to see her go through. It's strange to try to define, and to see Just Before Dawn through her eyes is a complex journey, but I Love all the characters in the film too.
The scenarios are just sleazy enough, just remote and removed enough. I feel like it could be a Wilderness Slasher, or a Backwoods Slasher, or a Camp Slasher without a Camp Ground? I like Wilderness Slasher. It feels so prototypical, like there's an innocence to it. Seems darker than usual maybe because there's not a lot of music throughout. Eventually it gets so dark and it stays so dark until the end. When the barefoot Constance climbs up the tree and the killer actually takes the time and chops down the tree is just chilling to me! And there's no music, just chopping sounds and screaming in the dark 🥹🪓 so glad more people are appreciating it.

Don't Look Now is a bona fide masterpiece. The visuals, atmosphere, and colors are downright arresting.

Thanks for inviting us over for the little chat. You are a delightful host. You look more like a student than a faculty member. Concerning That Stuff Will Kill You, if you are interested in Herschell Gordon Lewis or satire of the Deep South, you should check it out. If you are not interested in either of those, you should skip it. If you contact your library, you can probably get it as an interlibrary loan. That is how I watched it several years ago.

Severin Films hosted theatrical showing of Next of Kin & Dead Kids (aka Strange Behavior) at a local theater and I got a complimentary mini-poster for Next of Kin that I'm probably never going to put up on the wall. If you want it, it's yours.

Oh yeah, Scum of the Earth is definitely Hick-sploitation and pretty terrible. As far as I know it's only available from Grindhouse Releasing video. They're like the Criterion of Grindhouse films, meaning they include lots of extras and a good presentation but its also very expensive (way more expensive than I would ever recommend anyone pay for that crappy movie. Ha!)
Glad you liked Free Hand for a Tough Cop. I think its my favorite Millian/Lenzi film just because I'm a fan of 48 Hrs (the Nick Nolte & Eddie Murphy film) which was clearly inspired by Free Hand.
