Robert Stack is an inspiration to me. He was already well into his 60s when he took on the role of host of Unsolved Mysteries (he was 68, to be exact) and it ended up being his greatest hit for which he will always be known.
Zel passed away in 2010 without learning the truth in her son's death. On her later years she was estranged from her daughter because she focused so much on solving the case
The granddaddy of all true crime. Unlike the dry documentary delivery of today, Robert Stack brought a huge and distinctive entertainment factor with his spooky delivery. 👻
Omg, flashback. We watched this regularly, and as it was on every Thursday night at 8 it meant I had only one day of school left. I almost always did my homework whilst watching this. This show shaped many ideas I had about life, the universe and everything for a long time.
It's kind of sad that they have to inform the viewers that this is not a news broadcast. To anyone who has watched the news a couple of times in their lives, this was very obviously not news back in the day.
Anyone who dislikes these Unsolved Mysteries segments is most likely amongst the criminal individuals or wanted persons featured on some of the segments
Wasting away my Sunday off in my PJs watching unsolved mysteries all day long while vegging out on my favorite snacks. I will regret nothing.
Much respect to Zel, what a terrific mother. Very courageous lady.

I don’t get how anyone could dislike unsolved mysteries... what is there to dislike?

When that mom said... He wasn't just my son he was my buddy.... That broke my heart
Cold evening in Australia, sitting near my wood fire eating pizza and binging on unsolved mysteries

Unbelievably cruel not to return the little boy to his family. That made me cry as they trusted that family.
Ted would have been in his late 80's now if he was alive today; poor Zel never got the answers she wanted.

Blowing up the only entrance before finding another is a brilliant move. Can’t believe it didn’t work out.
This would come out every Tue or Thur .. my mom use to get us hamburgers and all our family would watch this show. A great memory
I love it when they end an episode on a positive story.
It's odd~ so many of these stories are tragic, creepy, etc... But, watching these now is very comforting.
The best reenactment television show ever

A rotary dial phone, wow I'm old. I thought my family was rich when we got the push button phone
