As someone with OCD, I struggle with rumination and seeking reassurance, especially after frequently watching videos about the "unforgivable sin." I often find myself doubting whether God exists and wondering why I can never feel completely certain. I believe this doubt is a tactic of the devil, trying to trap me in a loop of uncertainty. Deep down, I believe in God's existence. I have witnessed the miracles He has performed for those in need and have even heard His voice once. That experience moved me to tears; it was as comforting as sitting by a fireplace on a cold day and as clear as a stream of water. He guided me through obstacles, leaving me in tears. Despite this, my OCD continues to throw doubts at me. Someone once told me, "The fact that you care means you haven't committed the unforgivable sin," and I hold on to that.
God knows you have ocd, and He also knows that you are not an evil person.
The ocd will fade away, don't worry.
I also suffered from Ocd, with all kind of horrible thoughts against the trinity.
I learned to manage my fears with the words of God.
I still have ocd by its in a point that is called "THE PURE O".
My obsession doesn't take me down anymore, I know that my thoughts aren't real, and I can't control it.
And don't trust your feelings, trust Jesus.

Blasphemy against the HOLY SPIRIT is not caring to repent at ALL. So, basically... saying Jesus was crucified in vain. All you have to do is repent when Jesus calls... we ALL fall short of his glory. That's the Catholic explanation but it's wrong. Blasphemy is a specific sin speaking evil of the Holy Spirit or attributing the works of the Holy Spirit to evil powers.
You could have just said that it was Unbelief and rejection of Jesus and his gift of grace. But you turned that into a 25 minute bible study. I love you, brother.

I often have intrusive thoughts in relation to this. Horrible sentences in relation to the spirit. It's not that I believe these things, but rather a form of morbid curiosity forcing the words into my head.
I used to get those, too, but trust God and pray when you get them.

SAME it’s gotten to far, but I’m not feeling conviction anymore. And it makes me somewhat worry if I did commit the unforgivable sin or not, because it happened out of nowhere, then after not feeling conviction, I just started backsliding, I don’t know what’s going on.

I've once thought something along the lines "If I committed the unforgivable sin and am going to hell anyways I may as well go back to drinking and watching p*rn and live life for me" LIES from the enemy he sees you trying to do good and is panicking trying to get you back into the world at all costs and he knows it. This fear is conviction of the Holy Spirit if you have not repented and put faith in Christ. Fear, when you have be transformed, is only knowledge you need to gain (refiners fire, aka baptism of fire). This will come in time through sanctification.

Dude, you're going down a path you don't have to.If God showed you the punishment you say you're okay with, you would change your mind very quickly. U need to realize he is seeking to save. He wants to save but you need to slow down and stop long enough to realize your foolishness. Being okay with this is quite literally the worst thing you can do. You're a man in Gods image. You are meant for more. If you let yourself be given to your thoughts over his word. You're blood is on your hands not his. Read the word, no matter how hard it is. Because brother, its that or die. I don't want you to die. And im sinful. How much more does God want you. Look at these passages and read them: 2 Peter 3:9, Jeremiah 29 verse 10, and John 3:16. Im going through the same thing but through those verses and the word as a whole have helped me and kept me from killing myself. And you need to realize God had you in mind when he said that. Cause all means all. Don't reject him and pursue your own righteousness. U probably down see it but ur being self righteous thinking u have a good desire God cant fulfill so u have do his work even though you'd rather do something better. It is by doing that you deny forgiveness for your self. Keep pushing cause its life and death. Let fear help you. Read the word and give light to your conscience so you can repent and feel sorrow. Then Life. Im doing it with you brother. Love you. God does too❤. RUN TO HIM!! So he can embrace u . Read the parable or the Prodigal Son

Wow... you really have a place in the new church 😊. I have been asking the Holy Spirit about a very specific question and He has been giving me the answers in pieces. You just answered a really BIG part of this question in the best possible way! Thank you brother I've been struggling with terrible thoughts and woke this morning saying something wild like didn't mean too, just woke too it but still crazy. I really needed this.
We all have thoughts that are horrible. People just hide it.
If God were to broadcast the thoughts of us all, we would all hide under rocks in shame.
When I find myself thinking something bad, I pray and I call the thoughts out for what they are and I deny them from being in my thoughts! If I think something hateful, I rebuke that thought and pray for forgiveness for such a thought.
Get to a room or place that you can be alone and open the Bible and cry out to God!
Thank Him for showing you that you are in need of Him. Because without the knowledge of your need for Him, you would be separated from Him!
Praise God in all things because even those things that humans and evil spirits mean for bad, God uses for good for those He loves!
Take heart, because we have a Savior!

I read the Word of God for forty years and sometimes 8 hrs a day but mostly 2 to 4 hours a day and had been stumped by this particular portion of scripture this whole time because the known churches that I attended and tried to join said God doesn't do miracles anymore nor speaks to man and said I had a devil but God the Father did speak to me but only once and he must have known that , that would be the only way I could be reached because my own father was really really bad to me and I can't even talk about it right now and now I know that those churches were dead wrong . The Holy Spirit is the source of truth. To blaspheme the Holy Spirit is to reject God's truth. You can't be saved if you reject salvation. How can you be forgiven if you reject He who forgives?
It's blaspheming the spirit and saying bad things about him. "They were saying he has an unclean spirit."
@@allisonmcinnis5929 couple questions. Does the Holy Spirit lead to the truth? Isn't that what we say when we disagree with someone's interpretation if it doesn't line up with dogma? They aren't being led by the Holy Spirit. Right?
If by unclean you mean cussing at the Holy Spirit with hate and vitriol. Would you say that person is open to accepting the truth of God the Holy Spirit brings? I would argue that person is rejecting the Holy Spirit, wouldn't you?
Someone that would blaspheme the Holy Spirit is rejecting the truth of God. To blaspheme the Holy Spirit is to simply disrespect God. To speak irreverent about God or scared things. That is the definition of blaspheme. An atheist would be a blasphemer. As would a satanist. Both reject God.

Hello brother. Thank you for the study. I usually love how you get into every word of the verses. But I think this topic is a great example of where you would need to refer to other verses to correctly understand what the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is.
Because by your description, that means Paul (Saul) would be guilty of blaspheming the Holy Spirit, which we know he isn't. Also, if sins such as murder and adultery can be committed in the heart (Matthew 5:21-onward), I think it applies to this as well. This type of blasphemy might not even need to be spoken at all.
I think we need to refer to what the work of the Holy Spirit is, one of which is to convict the world of sin (John 16:8). Other teachings I found about this is resistance to the convicting work of the Holy Spirit until death (John 8:24). That is why we are told in Hebrews 3:7-8 --> "7Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says, “TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, 8DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS AS WHEN THEY PROVOKED ME, AS ON THE DAY OF TRIAL IN THE WILDERNESS,"

Please if you can answer this I’d be grateful. I was a born again Christian decades ago and fell away into disbelief but now came back to the Lord but after reading Hebrews 6 and learning of the unpardonable sin. If I realize I made a terrible mistake can I come back to God now and believe in Jesus then would I not have committed the Blashemy of the Holy Spirit or did I commit the sin when I fell away into disbelief ?

Are you referring to Hebrews 6:4-6?
I would first like to ask you, how did you know that you were born again then, and how would you define what born again means?
In scripture, being born again as Jesus described can be referred to in Ezekiel 36:26-27 "26I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes and to carefully observe My ordinances."
In what happened to me, the words in the Bible became alive after I was born again. I started to love reading and understanding God's word, not because of the culture or religion I grew up in, or peer pressure, but because God has replaced what was inside of me. To follow His statutes (commandments) is to first know His statutes. Did you love His word then, or were you just part of the crowd who happen to read the bible?
Most teachers I've heard say that the ones who fall away were not really born again to begin with. This can be good news for you. If you weren't born again then, you can be truly be born again now! Scripture says that God is rich in mercy. Repent and trust in the work of our Lord Jesus alone, not in your own goodness, because you (we) have none.
"4But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9not as a result of works, so that no one may boast." -Ephesians 2:4-9

I thought the meaning was that this sin was the rejection of Jesus. Since no sin can be forgiven if one does not accept and trust in Jesus Christ.
If you accept Jesus, you're saved and, I would imagine, is impossible to perform this unforgivable sin. Glad to see others come to the same conclusion.

Denying the Lord AS the Lord. That IS the unforgivable sin. Those who don’t accept Christ as Lord & savior, they’re committing the unforgivable sin. That is what it is.
Wrong. Peter Denied Christ 3 times, yet he repented and God forgave him.
Unforgivable sin is accepting Lord as your Lord then falling away back to your former self and willingly denying Christ.

It’s been a real struggle lately because I with my heart of hearts believe in God and I believe that Christ of Nazareth died on the cross for our sins, but I have had some real intrusive blasphemous thoughts lately with them also came temptation. I felt so guilty and condemned for my actions and felt foolish that God loves me so much just for me to go and mess up like that. I was so scared and anxious that I committed this sin, but after this video, I can most confidently say that I’m still a child of God that loves Christ and wants to carry out his will. I honestly get terrible intrusive thoughts as well. They get me so scared but then I remember, God sees what my heart wants to say and not what my intrusive thoughts say. Or whatever may slip out in a moment of trying to find the right words. God knows what we do before we do them, God knows what we truly want to think, God knows what our hearts are made of. I want you to know, that you haven’t, neither have I. But you may ask, “What if I did before?” You haven’t. Because you still find his word and you still worry. I hope that you can see this reply so you can be relieved whenever you begin to feel anxious about those thoughts. For me, I had a very thought week of those thoughts but it calms me down of the fact that I believe in my whole heart that Jesus is Lord, The Holy Spirits work is from God, when Jesus came down to earth..He showed through himself that the Holy Spirit does true miracles! The Holy Spirit is good! The Holy Spirit is clean! The Holy Spirits work is from God and isn’t from no demonic force or creature! Also, we haven’t scattered away because we worried if we did. To gather up all that I said, God knows you’re heart and what you truly believe in because he sees his children’s lives before they even meet him back again when it’s out time of getting judged.

Just like He see’s what your heart means too. For intrusive thoughts aren’t what you want for they are called intrusive for a reason. God loves all of his children dearly, always. Isaiah 55:7 “Let the wicked forsake his ways, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.” This verse shows that thoughts are very pardonable. I have heard countless teachers, preachers, and want to be Bible scholars say , " When you come across the word 'therefore' find out what it is therefore.
Never have I heard a 1 of them go back and review, or reiterate, what or why "therefore" was therefore.
When I think of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit... I look at the spiritual side of things as deep calls to deep and that while Scripture speaks that there is forgiveness available to those that blaspheme the Son... the reality of when there will be no more life line or hope in Jesus for those that have not reconciled with God through the Spirit... and at that point where there is no other way for man to be saved....the fruit of this tree will not be questioned...and there will be no forgiveness available anymore....
and while God desires that none perish and that all would repent...this isn't forced on people...in the temporary realm.

I thought, I had done it. I went and took a shower and reflected, I prayed and talked with Jesus and now I know that I have not, the lord has enlightened me, he has given me purpose, I have no doubt that he has a road ready for me, I am reborn in Christ He is my lord and savior. Seek him.
Thank you for clarifying this to me. In this way, I believe that when you meet hardcore muslims, they try so hard to convince the Christians especially that there is no such thing. But I have recently repented alot to Jesus and the Father, as I felt in my heart through my horrific experience in early 2022 that I was heading to hell, and in that experience, I visualized hell all around me, losing control of where I was going and what I was needing to do in this world. Ever since I submitted my soul to Jesus, I know deep down in my heart that whenever I sin, it is like I tore down all my good works with just one sin. I pray for all of you spreading the good words of Jesus and His teachings. He is truly our Lord and Savior, and I sincerely hope everyone with a decent heart turns to Him to repent and save their souls. Praise Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Father.
In my opinion, this is probably the most comprehensive description of this problem, namely the unforgivable sin. I would like to add that if you look at the context of the Bible, this sin was only committed in the context of when Jesus Christ was physically on earth.

@gvbriel8148 Believe with your whole heart that Jesus died for you and rose up from the dead after three days, so that you can have everlasting life. Then pray for forgiveness, and the lord will see your regret. That's it, you will then be forgiven. Just that you even ask this question is a huge step in the right direction

There are two dispensations to the blasphemy and the unforgivable sin. When Jesus speaks of the blasphemy, He was in human form, and when He talks about the unpardonable sin, it is against God the Holy Spirit. Biblical (God is Spirit); Notice that Jesus said you will be forgiven for words against the Son of Man (He is on the earth). The topic is a very important one.
I would request please someone pray for me as I need it I need to get closer to God and I've been so focused on my career and money and I need to put God first and not my past or current circumstances I've been desiring a Godly relationship but I am tired of waiting and I've been praying to God to remove this desire if He doesn't wants me to have this
Jesus said not to store up treasures on Earth. Dont make your career or money an idol because the moment you die, you will have none of those things anymore. If you feel your job is getting in the way of God, or putting God second place in your life, then reduce your hours or you might have to find something else. Remember, Matthew quit his job on the spot when Jesus said "follow me". He was A despised tax collector working at a booth before he was called to be A disciple. Dont let the things of this Earth cost you your eternal life. Jesus also said that what you ever you give up on Earth whether its a house, career, husband, child for his name sake he will payback 100x fold.

If you still want to be saved and still want to have a Relationship with God; That means God is Drawing you, and you won’t be rejected. God wouldn’t Draw anyone who couldn’t be forgiven.

Seeing this proof yet still attributing it to a demonic source.
It’s then that this sin is committed. It was committed as Jesus was on earth.

This age is talking about the age, where Jesus had his ministry on earth. The age to come is the time that Christ returns to rule the world. If you were insane enough to blast, Jesus, as he is on earth, attributing his works to an unholy source, there is no hope for such a person.

When i was young i used to make fun if benny himm with his shirt knocking people down, saying surely this is fake or set up for money. Throughout my life i fear that if i was wrong, its unforgivable. Nowadays after actually reading and paying attention to the bible, i wont ever think or judge like that again.

the pharisees knew Jesus was Christ, they knew He was God, yet they verbally told everyone He was satan (miscrediting, profane talk) and tried to get everyone away from God, knowing it was God. (leading people into hell and away from Christ)
it's still kind of unclear of wether you can believe in Jesus yet commit this, but just take what you know and apply it to your life, and if you do that i think it's safe to say probably you love God enough to not commit this sin. just stay strong and ask for His help and deliverance, along with undersranding

I knowingly speak bad things out of anger even when I'm turning a point and trying to maintain my faith, I instantly think about it and regret doing it but I cant help but get mad with people sometimes and I'm trying to eliminate that, does this qualify as blaspheming against the Holy Spirit?

I think I commited blasphomy and im scared because im a christian and i started losing belief and eventually considered myself athiest for a bit and reading these comments ensured I prob did and now im scared.

Im scared because i have blasphemous thoughts and i questioned what the Holy Sprit is. Is it blasphemy against the holy spirit? I do not agree with the thoughts that are against him and I was curious and questioned what the Holy Spirit is.
First off, I’m the exact same way. And from what I see, you still worry because those thoughts are unwanted , right? You haven’t said them aloud and believe in any evil. Just because you worry, and also that you seek answers, you are still a true believer. Blasphemy would be if you were to never question and just accept the bad thoughts and also to just ignore God’s messages. It would also be like not trying to find God whatsoever.
I still fear that I have committed this sin. My mental health is greatly declining, I can barely eat a meal and fear and voices are not leaving my mind. I am completely lost and confused. My faith is weak and doubt everything. I can not tell what is happening in my life and what is from God. What do I do?
I'm currently going through the same thing as far as hearing voices, I would say, grow faith memorized bible verses, ask god to take the voices away, and I'm currently going to the doctor to try to get medication to see if it helps to get rid of the voices. And whatever the voices say, don't believe it and hang in there brother you're not alone.
I’m going through something similar with thoughts, I messed up really badly recently and now I get such contrasting thoughts and feelings, some days I feel Jesus forgave me and I’m still a child of God other days I feel like Esau like I can’t repent and it’s over for me. I’m confused, I want God, but I messed up really badly cos I didn’t want to let go of the world. I ask that you please pray for me, that God will heal my double mind, clean my heart and turn it back to him and that I will only love him.

I also follow Pastor Mike Winger but had to stop because of confusion over my inability to understand the complication of words (I am not highly educated). I am a new subscriber and a 'fairly' new Christian. This subject has baffled me terribly. I'm terrified of it. I also think I may well be an idiot. Is there any way to put up a few examples of various situations concerning blasphemy against the Holy Spirit? Note: I have a book called 'How to Talk so Kids will listen and Listen so Kids Will Talk". In that book, it shows actual situations where parents can discern how to react and not react to the challenges of raising our kids in a positive way. Is there a study somewhere that I might have that kind of picture-book information? Perhaps my case is one of not being allowed to understand for reasons beyond my comprehension? I apologize if I make little sense as I simply do not understand as I should.

I fear hell. I wish I'd fear losing God so much. That's why I'm aproaching God and begging Him for help. I have no problem to say Jesus is Lord. So I wonder if I'm damned and aproaching God only because I'm afraid of torment awaiting in hell. Please help.

Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit won't be forgiven in this eon or the next but there is one more eon after that, the eon of the New Heaven and Earth. It is not unforgivable but for a period of time. I Timothy 4:10 -- God is the Savior of ALL MANKIND, He's just not saving all at the same time
