      Jesus christ was manifesting the works of God....he was casting out devils and healing the sick and discerning the very secrets and thoughts and intents of the hearts of the people.....and the clergy or priests were speaking of the works of God and claiming it was of the devil...
      So jesus christ was basically saying when the holy ghost comes and does the works of God in the born again believers....it won't be forgiven....
      So when you see a born again believer manifesting the works of God by the holy ghost....don't say or think evil against it....that's what many people did when they saw the works of God manifested in the ministry of William branham and a.a allen and f f Bosworth and jack coe....and a few others
      That is the blashemy of the holy ghost....speaking or thinking evil against the born again believers manifesting the works of God by the holy Spirit just like jesus christ was doing...amen

      @@marcocruz4240 The Orthodox view is that it was not a blasphemy against Holy Spirit if you can and do repent.
      You can read the early Saints of the Church, you will find the similar writings. Repent, do the best to be a best person you can, fight passions, build graces. Love yourself, your neighbor and God above everything else and all will be fine.
      Longer description below:
      "Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit" is conscious and hardened opposition to the truth, "because the Spirit is truth" (1 John 5:6).[23] Conscious and hardened resistance to the truth leads man away from humility and repentance, and without repentance, there can be no forgiveness. That is why the sin of blasphemy against the Spirit cannot be forgiven since one who does not acknowledge his sin does not seek to have it forgiven."
      "Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit was not unforgiveable in the sense that God refused to forgive those who repented of it, but because in persisting in this sin they cut themselves off from the possibility of forgiveness."
      "The pastoral irony of all this, of course, is that any Christian who asks a priest with trembling whether or not he has committed the unforgivable sin cannot possibly have committed it, for the question proves that the one asking it loves Jesus and fears being separate from Him. Let such devout souls fear nothing. They have clearly been caught in the fishermen’s net, along with other fish. Let them persevere in their devotion, and rest assured of final forgiveness."

  • @Toncor12
    @Toncor12 4 года назад +90

    The blasphemy was committed by the Pharisees in Matthew 12: 22-33. They had knowledge that the Holy Spirit healed the demon possessed man but chose to give credit to a demon entity called Beelzebub rather than the Holy Spirit. Jesus called that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. A true born again believer cannot blaspheme the Holy Spirit. If someone says you have committed the unpardonable sin then declare "get behind me Satan!!". If you are believer, RELAX!!!! ALL your sins, past, present and future have been paid for.

      Your post nicely reduces the seventeen minutes to the core of what Jesus was stating. To be honest, the chance of someone in an American church claiming you blasphemed the Holy Spirit is as close to zero as possible. Pastors and church goers routinely blaspheme the Holy Spirit in their attempt to claim a special relationship with Jesus or the Holy Spirit. You often hear them say the Holy Spirit weighed on my heart as I heard one alleged pastor claim. His exact claim was "I spent all week preparing this sermon and worked late into the night to get this sermon ready for this morning. BUT, I woke up and the Holy Spirit weighed on my heart and told me He had something different He wanted me to do." Apparently, the Holy Spirit needed this alleged pastor to glorify himself on the stage with stories of me, my, mine, and I as he regaled everyone with stories from his life Sermons are supposed to come from the voice used to speak with us, His Word. The Holy Spirit speaks to us through His Word only. Little to nothing involving the Word, but all about how pious and special he is. He once started a sermon off on "how proud I am of my humility and how humble I am."

    I was agnostic most of my life and finally I came to the truth after seeing all the evil things happening in our world. All the prophesies taking place. There was no denying it.
    After I got saved, I was sober for about 3 months then went back to drinking and drugs.
    Thought that I had blashmed the holy spirit because I went back to my old ways.
    I felt guilt while I was partying but did so for a few months.
    I can now say that those days are behind me and I must be vigilant.

    Question: "What is the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit?"
    Answer: The concept of “blasphemy against the Spirit” is mentioned in Mark 3:22-30 and Matthew 12:22-32. Jesus has just performed a miracle. A demon-possessed man was brought to Jesus, and the Lord cast the demon out, healing the man of blindness and muteness. The eyewitnesses to this exorcism began to wonder if Jesus was indeed the Messiah they had been waiting for. A group of Pharisees, hearing the talk of the Messiah, quickly quashed any budding faith in the crowd: “It is only by Beelzebul, the prince of demons, that this fellow drives out demons,” they said (Matthew 12:24).
    Jesus rebuts the Pharisees with some logical arguments for why He is not casting out demons in the power of Satan (Matthew 12:25-29). Then He speaks of the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit: “I tell you, every kind of sin and slander can be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come” (verses 31-32).
    The term blasphemy may be generally defined as “defiant irreverence.” The term can be applied to such sins as cursing God or willfully degrading things relating to God. Blasphemy is also attributing some evil to God or denying Him some good that we should attribute to Him. This particular case of blasphemy, however, is called “the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit” in Matthew 12:31. The Pharisees, having witnessed irrefutable proof that Jesus was working miracles in the power of the Holy Spirit, claimed instead that the Lord was possessed by a demon (Matthew 12:24). Notice in Mark 3:30 Jesus is very specific about what the Pharisees did to commit blasphemy against the Holy Spirit: “He said this because they were saying, ‘He has an impure spirit.’” Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit has to do with accusing Jesus Christ of being demon-possessed instead of Spirit-filled. This particular type of blasphemy cannot be duplicated today. The Pharisees were in a unique moment in history: they had the Law and the Prophets, they had the Holy Spirit stirring their hearts, they had the Son of God Himself standing right in front of them, and they saw with their own eyes the miracles He did. Never before in the history of the world (and never since) had so much divine light been granted to men; if anyone should have recognized Jesus for who He was, it was the Pharisees. Yet they chose defiance. They purposely attributed the work of the Spirit to the devil, even though they knew the truth and had the proof. Jesus declared their willful blindness to be unpardonable. Their blasphemy against the Holy Spirit was their final rejection of God’s grace. They had set their course, and God was going to let them sail into perdition unhindered.
    Jesus told the crowd that the Pharisees’ blasphemy against the Holy Spirit “will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come” (Matthew 12:32). This is another way of saying that their sin would never be forgiven, ever. Not now, not in eternity. As Mark 3:29 puts it, “They are guilty of an eternal sin.”
    The immediate result of the Pharisees’ public rejection of Christ (and God’s rejection of them) is seen in the next chapter. Jesus, for the first time, “told them many things in parables” (Matthew 13:3; cf. Mark 4:2). The disciples were puzzled at Jesus’ change of teaching method, and Jesus explained His use of parables: “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. . . . Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand” (Matthew 13:11, 13). Jesus began to veil the truth with parables and metaphors as a direct result of the Jewish leaders’ official denunciation of Him.
    Again, the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit cannot be repeated today, although some people try. Jesus Christ is not on earth-He is seated at the right hand of God. No one can personally witness Jesus performing a miracle and then attribute that power to Satan instead of the Spirit. The unpardonable sin today is the state of continued unbelief. The Spirit currently convicts the unsaved world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). To resist that conviction and willfully remain unrepentant is to “blaspheme” the Spirit. There is no pardon, either in this age or in the age to come, for a person who rejects the Spirit’s promptings to trust in Jesus Christ and then dies in unbelief. The love of God is evident: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). And the choice is clear: “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him” (John 3:36).

      Greetings,
      Your expounding on the subject I find very helpful. Just one detail for you to reconsider regarding John 16:8 kjv reprove the world ... in contrast to "convicts the unsaved world..."
      Merriam Webster Dictionary defines reprove:
      transitive verb1 : to scold or correct usually gently or with kindly intent
      Also consider the following from www.biblestudytools.com/dictionary/reproof-reprove/
      "Reprove" in Elizabethan English had a variety of meanings ("reject"
      "disprove" "convince," "rebuke"), with "put to the proof" (see 2 Timothy 4:2
      the Revised Version margin) as the force common to all, although in
      modern English the word means only "rebuke" (with a connotation of
      deliberateness). the King James Version uses the word chiefly (and the
      Revised Version (British and American) exclusively, except in 2 Esdras
      12:32; 14:13; 2 Macc 4:33) for yakhach, and elegcho, words that have
      very much the same ambiguities of meaning. Hence, a fairly easy
      rendition into English was possible, but the result included all the
      ambiguities of the original, and to modern readers such a passage as
      "But your reproof, what doth it reprove? Do ye think to reprove words" (Job 6:25,26 the American Standard Revised Version) is virtually incomprehensible.
      The meaning is, approximately: "What do your rebukes prove? Are you
      quibbling about words?" In John 16:8 no single word in modern English will translate elegcho, and "reprove" (the King James Version), "convince" (King James Version margin), and "convict" (Revised Version) are all unsatisfactory.
      The sense is: "The Spirit will teach men the true meaning of these three words: sin, righteousness, judgment." Burton Scott Easton [Public Domain]

I'm presently going through this and I'm just trying to get through...spoken to my pastor, exams are coming soon I'm a bit crazy, but I'm crazy enough to believe that the only power strong enough to break these chains is God's. I can still say I feel a bit connected to God...like I can relate to the knowledge of how good and beautiful he is...sometimes I tend to feel that...even the devil knows that and he'll still go to hell...but ionno, I just hope that me still being able to relate to his goodness and know that he is love is really his spirit and not just my earthly mind...

    Thank you pastor. Very well said indeed. Many of us really don't dive in much to study what the context is saying. Your explanation of the text is clear,simple,liberating and uplifting. The true teachings really bring us even closer to our relationshil with Jesus Christ. I pray many others will be enlightened by your explanation. I will share this too in our church one of these days.

    For the last month I was assaulted by voices, one of them even the voice of the late Chuck Missler. Their constance was unnerving. It started out with helpful advice for a couple weeks. Then it took a deep dive, and I was tormented with statements such as “you are NOT going to heaven.” All of this was met with apocalyptic dreams they told me I was a prophet of, and after a breaking point, two-hr segments of sleep broken into absolute NIGHTMARES. One such nightmare involved Satan himself tempting me through the cell phone in the very room I slept in. I thought in the midst of this, I had committed this very blasphemy.
    You just made my year!!! THANK YOU!!! I’ve only been saved for a year. This incident has made me terrified and sick to my stomach to even pick up the Holy Word, but videos like this are helping me get back to it. ❤️

      @Sandra Roche It is not actually the closest to the original languages. it has several verses that are not in the original Greek and it translates many words poorly, or incorrectly. Don't get me wrong, God has definitely used the KJV Bible to bring people to Himself, but there are much better versions on the market now. You can buy an ESV Bible for a Dollar.

  • @alkinyle
    @alkinyle 6 лет назад +8

    Well done Brother Breaker.
    It makes perfect sense that blasphemy of the Holy Spirit only applied when Christ Jesus was alive on the earth because back then, the people were in the unique position of being able to "witness" first-hand the Holy Spirit at work through Christ Jesus.
    Anyone "witnessing" yet rejecting this absolute Truth would indeed have been blaspheming the Holy Spirit. As we are not in a position today, to witness the Holy Spirit through the works of Christ Jesus, and in turn are therefore not able to reject the event of the Holy Spirit working in and through Christ Jesus, then this is why it is impossible to Blaspheme the Holy Spirit today.
    You cannot Blaspheme what cannot take place. The Bible is absolutely clear on the specific conditions that make up the "unforgivable sin", and anyone saying otherwise is clearly not seeing what God is saying.

    Thank you Brother Breaker for all you do you have helped me understand key points in the scriptures many times I love hearing and seeing you teach. My favorite part is when you back up your knowledge with scripture! Most "preachers" say the Bible says this or it is written and then go on not showing or saying go look for yourself but you won't say anything unless there is multiple scriptures to prove what you are teaching is true. Thank you sir

  • @PerrrfictKats1
    @PerrrfictKats1 8 лет назад +50

    Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is never believing and recieveing Jesus in your heart because how can you recieve forgiveness if you do not believe. That would be the only sin God cannot forgive because the person refuses it until the day he dies. God cannot forgive a person who chooses not to believe Him. If it was something you said or did you'd have to figure out if it was blasphemy and other people would have to try and help you decide if you said or did something, which no one can look into your heart and decide what you actually did say or do. Blasphemy is ONE sin only which has to be the sin of unbelief, and that was the sin the Pharisees were guilty of; they never came to believing/ saving faith.

    • @ChildOL
      @ChildOL 5 лет назад +7

      @Master Ikem It's connected. Think about it this way, if Jesus is saying the only sin that cannot be forgiven, then what is the one thing that will get a person condemned to hell and not be forgiven? Rejecting that Jesus Christ died for your sins? Yes. From the text of the bible there is not multiple things that are not forgivable, just one and we as Christians know what that one thing is.

    • @ChildOL
      @ChildOL 5 лет назад +2

      @Master Ikem They would be saved of course, but not if they die rejecting Jesus Christ, because if they do they will die in their sins and be judged according to that instead of according to the righteousness of Jesus. The bible is filled with statements that all liars and adulterers etc. will be cast into the lake of fire, so does that mean regardless of them being saved or ONLY if they are not saved? God judges us at judgement day once we have passed from this life now to the next life in eternity and so God will judge us at that point and not until then when all is said and done. SO at that point if you're rejecting Jesus Christ then you're NOT saved but if you believed on Jesus Christ then you ARE saved and will remain that way forever.

    • @chasiewatches6551
      @chasiewatches6551 5 лет назад +1

      Master Ikem No rejecting the Holy Spirit is blasphemy because rejecting the Holy Spirit is not accepting Jesus and not accepting Jesus is what causes you to go to hell. You notice how the verse says there IS sin not A sin.

    • @webbangel2054
      @webbangel2054 5 лет назад +2

      Master Ikem Let’s not forget that the Holy Spirit that resides in believers is God himself! We have just as much of Him as Jesus did! So when an unbeliever hears the gospel message from a Christian who can only deliver the message of salvation because of God in him (The Holy Spirit) if the unbeliever rejects the message, he is blaspheming the Holy Spirit who is speaking through the Christian and he remains in an unforgiven state. If we keep reading in Matthew 12 all the way to verse 37, Jesus explains it, by your own words you will be acquitted or condemned. When I read verse 32 and Jesus says it won’t be forgiven in this age or the age to come I believe he means right then during the age of “law” and the age of “grace” that we live in now since His resurrection not just the 1000 year reign of Christ as the teacher in the video suggests. A person can reject(blasphemy) the Holy Spirit who brings the message of Christ into their life but if at some point in their life they accept the truth into their heart and stop rejecting His Spirit then they will be filled with the Holy Spirit and sealed for all of eternity!
      Because the God who said, Out of darkness light shall shine, is the One who shined in our hearts to illuminate the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels that the excellency of the power may be of God and not out of us.”-2 Corinthians 4:6-7

      I believe its explained in Hebrews 6:4-6 and 10:26. If you received knowledge of the Truth (Christ) and the Spirit and you willfully sin, you have blasphemed the Holy Spirit.
