    To avoid the dash "tipping" or leaning, replace the two corner bolts with longer ones (about 6 or even 8 inches long) (threaded rod works too) and now you can reach behind the dash without fighting the wiring.
    Yeah, I know, this is years past the posting but you never know who'll follow behind you.

    Thanks for the video, Benjamin. I'm glad you "explained the obvious" as I am a new jeep owner. Question - wouldn't it be easier to put the windshield down to avoid conflict with the wiper box? I'm going to be removing my dash for the first time later this week so I'm pretty new to this. Thanks again for taking the time to post your video. If you have any other videos regarding what's behind the dash and how to replace the heater cables, etc. I'd appreciate it!

      Yes, I believe folding window down, and pulling doors off can help.

    laying the windshield down should clear the wiper motor.
