Let me get this straight, they steal a million dollar cop hypercar, spray paint it and take out other cops with it as a revenge, but when they take out John Mc Manis now it's gone too far? This game is reaching new levels of absurdity

Actually, no. When the Agera got stolen and used against the police, they got so pissed that every cop charged with excessive force when the VRT came in got cleared from any accusations and was sent to the streets again (to public outrage) to beat the racers once and for all. That led Zephyr to rally the racers for the "ultimate reality show". That leads straight to the last playable chapter.

Maybe if Rivals had a more immersive and presentable way of showing cutscenes it probably would've been remembered more fondly. The Dialog is decent and the 2 main characters COULD'VE been interesting, but that isn't the case.

ok on a real note, though, the cops in this game were self aware; and everything they say about brute force, oppression, etc. is on the same level with heat in terms of relating to police in todays society.
i guess all im tryna say is; there's cops that are aware of the shit that only a FEW cops do, and they're trying to get rid of them so they actually have a good rep.

I been playing this game for years and I still don’t understand the ending.
When I saw it from isuckatdriving I was like okay what the fuck is this ending supposed to mean
Means F8 took over, and you are now playing him when you are a racer, and a random cop when you are a cop. The racer ending takes place before the cop ending.
F8 took out Zephyr in the final mission in cop career. Zephyr was arrested and put away while F8 was pushed out of the police force. Zephyr had corrupted F8 with the thirst for adrenaline, freedom, and release. He basically put a parasite in him that made him become the new Zephyr but better. More speed, more trouble.

Out of all comments i seen in the ending to me this from Legendd comment is the most believed for me What I think happened: zephyr drove into the road block and is presumed dead but then awakens and drives away but then chapter 10 of the cop career happens: as zephyr is driving away f8 comes after him but zephyr manages to outrun him so then f8 proceeds to collide as hard as he with zephyr which makes him critically injured but zephyr escaped again. Then f8 gets terminated from the vrt and joins zephyr against the cops.
There's alot of hints that zephyr survived both crashes like the engine sound at the end of the race ending and if u pay close attention to the cop ending you can't zephyr's car in the crash site that means he manages to run away.

Despite the hate, I do think this game has some fun factor in it.
Sin 61: This game runs at a native 30 FPS on PCs, and the physics go bonkers if you manage to crank it up to 60 with the command-line.
I thought that only happened with old GTA games, the more you know.
@@scr8846 Some old games (like those for DOS, Carmageddon included) seem to run best if their frame rate doesn't rise above 30. I am sure that this game runs at 30 frames per second on console though.

Honestly the frostbite engine on this game still looks glorious to me to this day

1:50. Actually, they don't really need rubber banding for the following reasons:
• Patrol variants have the best acceleration (Level 6). Patrol Aventador is practically having a Turbo permanently turned on.
• Police nitrous are more potent, and recharges more easily. Dangerous driving not required to recharge at all.
• Roadblocks and helicopters can slow racers down.
• RCPD have access to wider variety of hypercars (high top speed). Racers only have Agera R [ENF] and One:1.
4:38. Considering it is an enforcer variant, it is a bit overpowered, strength and durability-wise.
11:26. The bigger problem: at the time this cutscene was played for the first time, Venom GT isn't unlocked yet. In fact, it is AFTER that cutscene it does unlock at all.

There is a lot wrong with this game but I really enjoyed it....imo this was the last nfs game to really have chaos when it came to the cops besides heat......when you get to heat level 10 man it gets crazy you got shockwaves going of nitrous and everything else.....pretty much life or death when your at heat level 10...the graphics kinda hold up to this day...they look pretty good for 2013....but yea I’ve always loved this game but looking back on it there was plenty of wrong with this game lol

I first played this as a rental game in early 2014 then got the complete edition for PS3. I enjoyed it at the time but I eventually started to realize the huge flaws this game had. It's better than MW2012 imo and the fact that it's basically Hot Pursuit 2010 but open world was a pretty cool idea. In the end this is just a alright game that could've been better if Ghost had more time.

Yes but 99% of the time you're choosing events from a menu and not driving to them, and I know you can free roam in HP but you cannot do literally anything. So I don't count HP 2010 as open word just because the "open world" is completely useless unless you're doing an Interceptor but thats it.

I dont know where i read that (if i find the tweet or article, i will link it), but those 'real' cut scenes where made by Ghost Games itself. Most of the people in those videos are former Ghost Games devs.

You could remove a sin because cops have better stats and connect this fact as to why they rubberband (this even applies when the racer cars upgrades are maxed out)
Honestly despite the glitches this is my favorite NFS game
From my experience, Need for speed most wanted 2012 and Rivals had one of the best multiplayer in the series, even though I had issues with the internet and stuff. I didn't experienced the multiplayer of NFS2015 but from what all have been saying for a while, it wasn't that bad, and then Need for Speed Payback and Heat didn't have a very good multiplayer
At least the cops are no where near as bad as the ones in heat where they can barely touch you and take half you health (FIX THIS BUG EA)
Also fact rivals has a bunch of unused racer cars
This game is so broken I was able to abuse it and get 3,609,174 speedpoints as a racer, like shit this game has one of my favorite modern day muscle cars, but it's so broken that even a simple wreck can take you from 100% health to 40$
WELL, there is 1 thing you forget to research. Why, single player session is combined with the multiplayer session? Like, this is the first NFS that can't be paused when on the road, and it's REALLY sucks when be a racer (cause you can get chased when cops find you) and when still in the event. In my opinion is just because it can be multiplayer session when there is another online players (you can notice it when get out from the garage as both racer and cop), but, just why, it can't be paused in the single player session, like I have to go to safehouse first as a racer to be safe before leaving the game
I have not yet gotten used to the buttons setup.

The fact that F8 does nothing different compared to other racers made me question Zephyr's judgement, as he could be assuming F8 is a cop when he's not. Of course if you play the cop story this is confirmed as true but I didn't knew that when I played it the first time.

Idk to be honest I really like this game, just fast paced arcadey action with pretty good graphics on Xbox one.
I just buy an nfs rivala for xbox 360 and its very hard when the police come with heat level 5 for no reason
This game may have a few things that aren’t great but this game is still fun to play in your free time plus the graphics are pretty good considering how old the game is

Wrecked HP2 project of Criterion rushed by Ghost after Criterion fell apart in 2013.

+100 sins for both Rivals and NFS 2015 "NOT" pausable game. if someone had to go to washroom or have their meal or anything, you can't do that in free roam. Only thing you had to do is enter the garage, and then they can freshen themselves up

God, I’m more then a year or more late. But I’ll say it anyways.
After playing NFS rivals on the new PS (that doesn’t even change a thing trust me…) I think that if Ghost EVER wants to remake any games a very good choice for remaking + reimagined game would be Rivals: I felt really nostalgic to the new way of the progress system or feel like I want to hear more about the story (like what the fuck happen to VRT still investigating this “case”, Zephyr trying to re-take the throne of racers by the hand of F-8 or the cop cutscene guy, that was fired from the department, will be undercover again while is possible to get chased by the cops.), maybe ghost will add some mechanics to the already existing ones (example, if you ever get a high speed crash on cars or obstacles you get like “Motor damage”, “nitro malfunction”, “oil leak” those kind that let the car slow down until you repair it on the gas station.)
This is even a fucking long message and probably won’t get read at all since I’m a year late. So… yeah that’s it, great video and I hope to see you again soon. (If you have criticisms for my opinion make sure you don’t criticize it to much, again it’s just an opinion.)

Honestly this game to me has by far the hardest cops in any need for speed game ever it don’t even matter too much if your extremely good at the game or not really they are still very hard even more hard than nfs most wanted 2005 cops ever will be these cops followed its way into nfs heat because they was really difficult until a patch which nerfed the cops now they are nfs payback easy to escape to me I get why they did it but rivals cops need another chance in a new nfs game to me but not like a crazy mess
EA just need to go back to the drawing board and do what Activison did with COD, they lost to the plot so badly that they literally had to start over again, EA needs to go back to the first Most wanted game and build on from there and do it rigth this time.
